Gary,
with respect, I think for someone approaching wine for the first time it would have been better:
- to drink white wine how you are supposed to, i.e., chilled
- to try a wine widely available in the market (not a Gruner), you know, starting from the basics. I think as a clean and crisp white, also a NZ sauvignon blanc would have worked.

Also, wouldn’t it have been better for AJ to keep that Opus One for a special occasion when he’ll appreciate more wine?

These are just my stupid thoughts, but obviously also your way of doing things makes sense.

But point taken. I have 3 kids (a girl and 2 boys) and try to impart on them how important it is for them to have each other. They bicker and fight, but at the end of the day they know that they are there for each other.

I almost teared up during the question of the day. I am the youngest of three and while we get together great now that we are all in our 40s, we fought like cats and dogs while growing up. I think we were too close in age to really get along when we were younger.

I am the Youngest of 6 kids…yes that was 6(six)…..my parents just turned 80(Mom) and 78 (dad)…..there are 4 girls then my brother and me….my bro was the baby and I was the OOPS(2 of my sisters have kids older than me!)

I am closest to my youngest sister…..in fact her husband and I are closer than my brother and I(and he is one of my biggest wine drinking buddies!)

Family is the most important thing we have …..PERIOD.
