I think the Swiss neutrality might be infectious, but you both made it look glamorous. Good clean fun!

    QOTD: fondue

Here is a good reason why they are expensive. Dezaley is perhaps its best vineyard… Try working in this. No machines possible.

Sophie, Thank you so much for being on the show. Really enjoyed listening to you talk about Swiss wines. I would like to say I have had a Swiss wine but I think the closest I have gotten is Austrian.

Thanks Gary for having Sophie on the show. One of the best interviews so far. Very informative.

QOTD: I have had the fortunate pleasure of visiting your fine country with my family. My daughter loves Switzerland and Austria and cannot wait to return. What I think of when I think of Switzerland is; the longest tunnels I have ever been through; crisp, cold, alpine air; majestic mountains; some of the most picturesque vistas; soft alpine tundra; the music of cow bells; waterfalls; tiny cottages perched high on mountainsides; Sherlock Holmes.

I’d like to recommend that Gary adopt the Thundercat’s method of tasting wine.

Wow, another great show for the record books. Thank you Sophia. I had no idea
Switzerland was producing wine. I have never seen any in the retail shops or restaraunts here in NC. I would definetly seek out and try them if they become available. Any chance Wine Library will be carrying some in the future??

Also, great finish to the show. Thanks Mark E.

Good show! I actually went to Switzerland this past summer since my brother and his family were living there for a while. Zurich is a beautiful city…wish I could afford it.

QOTD: The wines aren’t bad at all, but they are expensive compared to what you get here for the same price. However, I’m still always willing to give them a try because (a) Switzerland is BEAUTIFUL, (b) their winemaking history is pretty extensive, even if most of us don’t know that much about it, and (c) a couple of their really great winemakers are working in New Zealand, making some awesome wines there. Oh, and the fondue and raclette are all seriously tasty.

Great episode… glad WLTV will continue on beyond the 400 mark so we can enjoy many more like this one! I live in Munich, Germany (just over an hour from the Swiss border) and Swiss wines aren’t very common here either so I always make it a point to purchase the ones I can get my dirty little paws on. Definitely a region worth covering. Keep up the great work!

Great episode guys, Sophia was awesome.

QOTD: I know there are Alps, bank accounts, and good hot chocolate.

Cool episode! Her English is amazing, and she must speak French and German fluently (seeing as she’s from Switzerland), I feel humble and small :)
I would love to sniffy-sniff and taste that rose, too.

QOTD. Switzerland is so pretty. I really enjoyed my time there. I’ve actually never tried one of their wines. It’s probably because I’ve always seen them as too expensive and mainly whites. But I understand that it’s very difficult (read expensive) for them to work the vineyard. I guess I’ll try to find one now.

Sophie was great. These multicultural European countries produce such talented young people!

Excellent episode, a Baroness wow! Sophia is sharp, and what a great heritage!

I haven’t had a lot of Swiss wines, but these sound like wines that I will definitely have to seek out.

QOTD: Switzerland is one of those places I have always wanted to visit. It is on my bucket list.

What a treat Gary and Sophia!
You continue to amaze with these high quality shows Gary. What a class act. Sophia!!!!XXXXX …You’re a real doll and winemaker too! I’ve been trying to find some Swiss wines but…no. Thanks for coming onto WLTV, you were a real treat.

QOTD: I wanted to go there because of the people, culture and terrain and I went. It was better than I could have ever imagined. Swissair hired me. Your culture, civilizion, geography and tradition is the best.

This show really hit home for me, my wife and I went there, and my son was born there…..he, Jubal,…Zurich, 1971. BEAUTIFUL COUNTRY and Beautiful people!!!

Visited Switzerland on our honeymoon. Champery, Montreux and the Matterhorn specifically. Didn’t have any wine while we were there. :( Definitely a goal to go back and see more of the spectacular country and get to know the culture. I will be seeking out the Rose featured on the show, for sure.

I’d love to go to Switzerland to ski those awesome mountains. And to drink some wine and eat the food.
