Thanks for doing the vegetarian pairing idea — and I’m glad you found some winners!

I like dry rose wines, and they do seem to go well with almost everything, but I’ll be especially interested in trying the Alsace Gewurztraminer. One of my New Year’s resolutions is to try more wines from old world regions I’m not familiar with, and Alsace is high on the list.

QOTD: I’m going to be putting up a new website over the weekend, and I’ll link you up. A brand new site won’t have much immediate impact, but you never know how popular a new web site might get, do you?

QOTD: You’ll have to wait until Monday to see what I have planned, muhahahahaha – however should I lose my job – you got one for me GV?? :P .

Great show today GV! I agree it’s good to have a little solo Vaynerchuk action from time to time.

QOTD: I’ve been word of mouthing the thunder here and there … but I do work at a coffee shop around more “palette conscious” types … maybe I’ll think of some way to spread the thunder in that arena. Although I must admit that selfishly I like that we Vayniacs are a proud few … but alas … the thunder must spread!!

Gary don’t fret about pouring out all that wine. That is just how “BIG” you roll.

QOTD: I already spread the thunder show to all my wine drinkers maybe i will have to link up the beer episode for my other friends.

QOTD: I’m starting to spread the thunder among my friends, but I just don’t think they really get it though. However, that’s won’t stop me to keep trying!!

I’m satisfied with that show as well. Guests are fine, but sometimes we need 100% GV.

BTW, just cause someone is a vegetarian doesn’t mean they’re healthy. I know several vegetarians who do it for health reasons, and I’d say overall the vegetarians I know have more health problems than the omnivores I know. Our bodies need the nutrients in meat (and vegetables), and while there are ways to supplement that, most vegetarians (though they try) fail to do so properly. :-D

QOTD: I’m all about making videos, but for an AppleTV? Nah… If it was for a $10 bottle of wine I’d do it, but literally the only show I watch (TV or on the internet) is WLTV, so I would have no use for it. Hmm, though I could probably ebay it…

Psyched for a vegetarian episode, though I would have loved to have seen one or two reds that pair well – not all reds need meat! I think you should do a fish episode next, disproving the myth that only whites can work with fish.

On a side note, I love the viogniers I’ve had, sorry that this one came off so hot. They generally have a high alcohol content, and with a white, that indeed can be playing with fire.

I will participate. My blog is about cooking for one and eating alone, but actually I usually eat and watch WLTV. I don’t get a ton of traffic but a couple of hundred readers can’t hurt. Thanks for always bringing such great episodes and I LOVE falafel!!!!

Time to finish my bottle of pinotage!

QOTD: Maybe put some fliers up in downtown Lincoln. Tell some costumers at the local wine shop where I work about the T Show. Possibly buying a 30 second Super Bowl ad.

oh–I also loved the banter/reparte’ that you and Mott had going on in this epi…I am a new viewer (I only have been around since the beginning of the month), so I am not sure if you have always done this, but it is great!

    Gary

Congrats on the write up in the post!

I almost bought a rose’ today, but chickened out and ended up going with a viognier and a malbec. I will probably go get it for the super bowl this weekend.

QOTD—I already have a badged attached to my signature on a couple of message boards I frequent…I am sure I will post about the 400th show Monday. I can’t wait to see it!

QOTD: I will do my best to accomplish what you ask of me/us.

Though reading what everyone else has in mind does help. :P

Friday is wine shopping day for me, so I have all these great ideas you’ve passed on these two weeks on paper. Can’t wait to see what’s under that sleeve of yours, tomorrow.

    GG, GV.

QOTD: Honestly? Nothing. I’ve only tried half-heartedly to spread the thunder. But I did have my first experience of randomly having one of my friends also becoming facebook friends with you. That was interesting and unexpected.

On another subject, we’re celebrating Drake’s latest victory here by opening up a Tannat from Uruguay. I probably wouldn’t ever have discovered Tannat and wouldn’t think to go outside the box and try Uruguayan wine if it weren’t for you Gary, so thanks on that. As for the wine, it’s okay.

Good show, way to be relaxed with your peeps.
QOTD: If I have to start a blog to get a shot at the AppleTV, I’ll do it. I’ll be spreadin’ the thunder like a mean Kansas storm, baby!!!

QOTD: I just told 100 Sonoma State students about your blog in the last 2 days! If I had tenure I’d definitely do something gaudy to try and get an iTV… how much does an iTV cost anyways?

Another excellent show, Gary. I’m a big fan of Gewurztraminer, and fortunately (shameless plug for my home province here) British Columbia makes some excellent versions, so we drink lots. It goes great with the Indian food we inevitably have at least once or twice a week. Also love chenin blanc and viognier, and a good rose is always nice. So the show today was obviously great for me.

Also love the idea of tasting that red five days after opening. Perhaps next time you can try a graduated tasting to see how it breaks down over that time. Start on Monday and finish on Friday. Just a thought.

QOTD: I will definitely be spreading the word on Monday, at the very least through facebook. Might have to get creative and think of something else as well, though. I’d love to get my hands on an Apple TV.

    Rani Haykal

    Great Show!!!

QOTD: I’ve been spreading the thunder since the first day I watched the show roughly 360 episodes ago. I can definitely guarantee that every single person who knows me (family, friends, random people I may run in to) knows about the show, so I don’t really know how else to spread the thunder besides ways I have already been doing. So, I’d love to join in on the contest because God only knows how badass AppleTV is, but Ill continue to spread the thunder the way I do best…..cuz the show is even more badass then AppleTV.

Thanks for recognizing us Veggies today, Gary! I adore wines from Alsace & Germany – Gewurtztraminers & Rieslings go great w/ some of my favorite foods (lower alcohol + spicy food = yummy!). But don’t forget about the red wines! Italian reds w/ pizza or tomato-based pasta, earthy pinots w/ mushrooms – we have lots of options!

QOTD: Gotta say I’m thinking more about the Democratic primary next Tuesday (go Obama!), but I’ll see if I can sneak in a shout-out for GV on Monday!

Rose is awesome. Screw vegetarians — since they like being miserable for made up reasons, why the hell should we try to make them any happier? Eat a mouthful of leaves in the fall and then throw up in your mouth to make it taste better. It’s far from proven to be healthier — how many professional athletes are vegetarians?

    Hey Gary,
Great show…very interesting topic. Was a strict vegetarian for many years, and now still cook many vegetarian meals. Will have to try the Gewurtz… BTW, hummus and shiraz work quite well together, and combine for my favorite guilty pleasure snack.

Qotd: hmmm…yes, I’ll participate, but I’ll have to do some scheming…

    rose is way underrated

qotd: was there one? i forgot. if it’s not right at the end then my mind can’t retain it for long enough…

Fun episode, appreciated the styles that you rocked out. Also enjoyed seeing you uncork the wine after 5 days, that’s very telling.

QOTD: Wow, well, I’ll need to think this over. I do have an email list of 100′ of people in NYC because of what I do for work, I might also be able to hit up a few radio stations, and even talk to a few TV people I’ve gotten in with. I’ll have to work on this over the week…
