This show is the reason I watch, absorb, and then try new wines. I am a fan of the “soapy soapster” and the esoteric white wines in my “later” years. Diversify is my mantra.

Glad to hear da Post gave you some kudos. Must be due to my spreading of the thunder down here in DC! :)

QOTD: If I can come up with some novel ideal I’ll do it. Would love to watch the Thunder Show on my big a** screen TV!

    Cheers!

P.S. Yes, by all means do a SA white wine show.

QOTD: Unfortunately, I don’t have the equipment or know-how to participate on Monday. But, good luck to those who do.

Glad to see a rose on the program; wife and I really did enjoy the 2006 version of that Turkey Flat.

Great lineup Gary, that Rose sounds dee-lish and I LOVED the color of it even before you said anything. Gorgeous wine.

Gary!! Thanks for doing the vege show. You pulled though on something I have been waiting for. Good energy. Never tried campfire roasted mushrooms, but hey, will have to give it a try and build the palette.

    Dear Gary:

Saw you on NY News show (ABC-TV.) First time I’ve ever watched the show. YOU’RE HILARIOUS!!! While just a moderate wine drinker, I always thought wine talk was snobbish and stuffy. This is gonna be fun – LOL

    Thanks

Great show today Gary… that Rose DOES have awesome color… as my friend Jason would say “It has delicious color!”

QOTD: I’m hoping to participate. I don’t have a blog, but if i message everyone I know on facebook, does that count?

I found this episode very interesting as I have been a vegetarian for over 20 years. I was surprised you didn’t try some red greek wines with the type of food you were eating. I don’t think most people understand the depth of spices in most of vegetarian food. I usually go for a red wine with tabouli, hummus and the falafel..and some good goat cheese. Thanks for doing a show for a veggies!!!

QOTD: Sure, I’ll be participating. Hopefully a little viral marketing. Spread the Thunder!

This was a dream episode for me – I love those style of wines, and had the Turkey Flats a couple of months ago BUT pouring half of it away to rinse your glass was NOT cool, OK? It was $20 here and only gave it 87 – maybe I need to re-calibrate my scoring? TNs- “Spicy watermelon aroma, fresh and lively, but with a subtle smokiness as well. Dry in the mouth, refreshing apple component with a decent length – a well made rose worth seeking out.”

I always have time for Chenin and Viognier, but that Gewurtz sounded exquisite – I was all geared up for a Chasselas this weekend but now I may have to head over to Alsace.

QOTD – “Spread the Thunder”, nice idea. I’m away next week so may not be able to catch the episodes until I get back but I’ll see what I can spread over in the Holy Land!

Good ep GV – always spreading the Thunder around here!!! Will definitely have to blog it and pass around some links to the show.

    Cheers!

GV: you had so much energy today, and not in a bad australian shiraz fake fruit bomb kind of way. You were genuinely in a good mood and I’m going to just be smiling the rest of the day.
Loved the review of the Gevrtz! Who would have thought that wines from alsace could be so good with asian cuisine, but it just works doesn’t it.

QOTD: Oh yeah, definitely getting in on that action. I’ll spend the weekend formulating my master plan.

Nice food pairing show. That rose was about the most brilliant color rose I have every seen. My local wine shop has a Rene Barth Muscat, but not the Gewürztraminer. Think I’ll try it out.

QOTD: Think I’ll paz. Not too much into the contest thing.

I love Gewurztraminer’s, but more so in the summer. And the Rose’s are getting very intriguing. My memories about them are not pleasant one’s… High School & gallon jugs, I don’t think that counts. QOTD: I can’t see a video coming from my direction, but I posted blogs on both myspace and facebook telling about the virtues of Gary Vey-ner-chuk.
