Love Rhone wines. Great show. I see all the wrist bands on the table in todays show. Where is mine. I requested one three times, even sent my address at your request and still don’t have one. What’s the problem?

QOTD: I’m am American, so of course I’ll be watching on Sunday. But, I have to be honest – I couldn’t care less about football. But from what my friends have been saying, I’m predicting A) the Patriots will blow the Giants out of the arena and B) I’m gonna get a little tipsy on some nice wine

QOTD: I have been kidding myself this year. Of course the Pats will win. The Giants dont stand a chance. I doubt they will even score. “Ahh shucks” is all Eli will be saying.

QOTD – Not a huge fan of either team, but I really don’t want to see the Pats win. So go Giants I guess. Which is weird since I’m a diehard Michigan fan… But I’ll be rooting for whoever happens to fall on my squares!

    Thanks for the wines..Great episode.
Giants win by 3 in overtime???AGAIN. I’m hoping, but it only seems likely if Brett Favre comes in as a late replacement for Brady.

Great show GV. I agree with you on the Rhone craziness, I am totally becoming a Rhone head the more I study the region. I wonder if all those Sworn for life Bordeaux lovers know that Bordeaux used to use a little N.Rhone red wine to add color, structure and alcohol to their wines when they didn’t quite measure up to standards.

QOTD: Don’t like both teams. Die hard eagles fan so this Super Bowl is almost my worst nightmare. Glad I am in France. I will miss the commercials though

OK I’ll quit “lurking” and leave a comment. Always interesting and entertaining. I share your point of view on judging wine for yourself, but, man there are so many different choices out there that it helps to have some other opinions to help narrow things down a little. I share your love of Amarones but can’t afford to drink ‘em very often. In limited experience, I’ve noted great variety in the characteristics of these wines. Fell in love with Italy on my only trip there and am always interested in learning more about their wines. Question: Don’t you pour a little more than you really need to for a tasting??

I just found your podcast yesterday and have already watched five+ shows. And now you’re leaving. I really enjoyed your most recent show on the big reds, as well as the show on the same wines on day 1 then day 2. Great idea.
