GV, Way to roll. As a Jets afn I ate to admit it but the Pats have this one locked up 31-24.

GV—–(1) how do you resolve the “enormity” of the alcohol in the grenache, yet
in the same breath describe it as “subtle?”

    (2) In the mid 70s I was fortunate to taste through some of the Freemark
Abbey cabs…..especially memorable were the ‘68 &’70. In those days the Bosche
vineyards were considered on a par with the Eisele & Martha’s vineyards as to
    the fruit quality.

Great episode. I’ve been a lurker for many months. What I especially enjoy about the shows is your enthusiasm with which you describe each and every wine and your willingness to disagree with the critics whenever you see fit. Anyway, I’m a big fan of Wine Library (love the new cheese section and the knowledgeable folks who work behind the counter) and a big fan of the show. Keep up the good work!!!

And I WILL try the Delas Hermitage because of your description….

    Cheers!

What a show! Those prices are out of our league but the first three would be fun to try sometime. They sounded delicious.

QOTD: Predicting the Patriots will win…to buck the trend from Carl’s office.

Big G, Got to try some Hermitage.

QOTD: Moss goes for 200 Yrds and the Pats pick up #4 by the score of 42 – 27.

Big bones for the wines today! QOTD: First of all, I hate new england. Patriots 41, Giants 21.

QOTH: I agree with Mott. I don’t care for either team. For that matter I probably won’t watch the game at all.

I don’t care about the SB at all. One reason you’ve got viewers who don’t comment here is because they watch on Itunes or some other similar service. To get them to go through the trouble of coming to this page (2 clicks IF they have wltv bookmarked, which if they are using itunes isn’t necessarily the case, or 3+ clicks if they are a day or more behind and want to comment on something that has past) you’ve found one good, though imperfect tactic; free stuff. The only other way is to have a question of the day which they immediately go “I have an answer AND it is an interesting (or unique) answer.” Without that second part it seems easier to let it slide and just go “someone else will have said what I’m going to say.” anyway, great show and how do we get a new wrist band?

As a Jets fan, I’m still hoping my 87 year old dad, who has been a Giants’ fan forever gets to enjoy another championship.

Superbowl XLII: I predict that the Giants and the Patriots will take the field, toss the ball back and forth, do a lot of falling down, and someone will emerge victorious. I also predict that someone will be injured during the game. Oh, you want me to predict a winner? I think it will either be the Giants or the Patriots.

Gary, I am on a mission with you regarding the big ass glass. My mission is to convince you to one day call it The Thundermug, rather than just the big ass glass. Why? Because the show is the Thunder Show, ergo, you are using the Thundermug on the Thunder Show. Also, thundermug is just a crazy kickass word. Do you know what thundermug means? It is another word for a chamber pot. How cool is that? Plus it seems related to your enjoyment of dirty poopy smells that sometimes occur in some wines. What could be a better rationale than that? Here starts my campaign.

Nice show Gary, I’m happy to hear you’re staying. I can imagine it gets difficult at times when you’re waiting for your table at Bennigan’s and people get all up in your face about WLTV…but it’ll be nice having you around for a while longer.

Optimistic prediction: Giants 31, Patriots (whoever wrote Cheatriots earlier – that was effing hilarious) 27

Are there any good Hermitages out there that aren’t so God-Awful-Expensive?

would never had tried Grenanche and Rhone wines without your show. Grenache is such a wild flavor and different layers with every sip or snif

Congrats Mott! (Uh-oh, now I’ll have to send in a pic because I said I would if I had a Mott tee).
    Fun show.

I’d almost forgotten about the butter bandit, and yes, that too would make a neat t-shirt.

QOTD: I think the Giants could pull it off, but I have to go w/ NE because growing up in So Vt I’ve been geographically required to root for the Boston teams since birth, even when they’re crappy. (This gives me great sympathy for Gary). I’ll be watching it at our friends the Giants fans’ house so it will be interesting, no matter what!

I’m all about the Big-Reds, LOVE THEM!

QOTD – Pats 42 / midgets 14 – and i’ll put my money on it. Sorry Mott – but hey, you got your damn t-shirt so its not all a loss.
