Your prediction on the Super Bowl was very much like everyone else’s.
Who’d a thunk that Eli Manning would be the hero?

QOTD - the most interesting experience for me in the past 6 months was the Boston Wine Expo where I saw you! I haven’t had a lot of experiences recently, but that was the largest tasting I had ever been too and it was great to meet you and Sasha!

I’m with you on the oak, I used to love the over oaked fruit bombs, but as my tastes have evolved and matured I’m often turned off by most of them.

Q - In the last six months I have gotten on the biggest Italian wine kick!!

Whoa, way off on the prediction. But since you were rooting for the Giants I guess you won. But then again you were also watching for the commercials, which sucked, so I guess you could also count it as a loss.

Biggest change…I stopped buying wine…because I have too much!

Thanks for pronouncing Paso Robles correctly. Don’t you run into a lot of folks that don’t?

QOTD: What’s changed? I think I finally GET the old world French wines! I was a Napa fruit-bomb guy and now I love, love, love the CDP and Bordeaux… And I used to drink Beaujolais-Noveau and think it was pretty good stuff. :-P

I still don’t get Italian wines tho. Still a mystery to me.

QOTD: Biggest change is searching out Spanish & Argentinian wines. I had a great cheap wine, Borsao this weekend. It was $7 and got better over the weekend. PnP on Friday night, not very exciting. Saturday w/dinner of pasta w/bacon & sausage & it was really good. Tasted like black plums & tannin, but a great wine for the money.

You can tell big bear is a alcoholic, he has a permanant happy glazed look in the eyes.

QOTD: The biggest change in my wine life is that in the last six months i have been forcing myself to remember smells. Had a wine the other day that smelled like the dried ketchup left as a crust on the top of the bottle. Fair to say the wine was not that good.

QOTD: Over the past month I’ve been jazzed about changing how I think about and describe the tastes of wines by using what I would call more “contemporary” tasting references.
And now I get to start up ep 400!!

Biggest change? I have had my first Rhone wines (LOVE the CDP now) and my first Sauternes, and both are a result of watching The Thunder Show. Also I’ve begun the practice of never buying the same wine twice and expanding my palette.

Gary has made the biggest impact on my wine habits in the last 6 months. Inspired me to quit drinking the same wines every week and explore. And I couldn’t be having more fun.

QOTD: well, I’ve recently got my husband somewhat into wine. When I say somewhat, I mean he is interested in buying, tasting and researching champagnes. That’s it. I’m on my own for red and white still wines, but at least he has somewhere to go when we enter the wineshop!

    PFORTY

Hey sorry about the wine, but nice ep wnyway!!!

QOTD: Biggest change? Went to the wine store and bought a case ranging from 8 - 36 dollars pep bottle based a) areas of the world I have tried and b) specific regions I have seen (and or tasted) since becoming a Vayniac. Have to say only 1 or 2 we didn’t like. 1 fromDown under and one from spain. Otherwise most were bringing some thunder!!! Thanx!!
