Gary…thank you for bringing out vino from Portugal!
My fiancee, Jenna, (who’s family comes from Portugal) and I are getting married in May and we are going to Cascais for our honeymoon! Because planning a wedding can be really fun, although stressful, we’ve been buying and drinking lots of wines from Portugal. So, again, thank you….anything with the word “Portugal” in it has brought Jenna and I a lot of joy!!

Great episode. I’m looking forward to this series, first because I love Portugese wine and second because more variety!!! Great theme song. I don’t stand a chance of winning the “Bring the Thunder” contest, all I do is link episodes of WineLibraryTV on my wine blog.

QOTD: Lobster, or maybe it’s crab, no, no, its crawfish!

Very nice song. I think we all need to dip into our creative selves and spread the thunder with poetry, art, music, dance….

QOTD: There are so many awesome shellfish choices, it’s hard to pick! Top picks are fresh live Maine lobster, raw oysters, and soft shell crabs.

…great song….you should sew the song into the next T-shirt, U-know like the greeting cards that sing.

I am unofficially giving a name to this flavor profile of (wet hay/horse poop) that makes its appearance from time to time on the thunder show…..How about “FARMER BRETT”

Lobster is definitely my favorie shellfish. I apgree that Potugese wines are the best QPR. Australia would be my next choice.

QOTD: Most definitely lobster. Actually going to a “Lobster Mania” cooking class this weekend at the local Central Market. There’s nothing tastier than a real Lobster Roll from a small stand on the coast of Maine.

    Gary,
Thank you thank you and thank you for sharing those wines with us. Its good that you mix it up and try wines from relatively obscure regions that many of us are unfamilar with What a great education! Now what can you tell me about Banyuls that you mentioned briefly the other day. I saw one in a local Kroger and am tempted to try it from Domaine Du Mas Blanc for about 40 bones. Is it worth it? Have you tryed any? Please help as I some education on this.
    Thanks for your time

QOTD: Crab. And if thats not cool, clams.

I did actually try what you suggested on 148. Sort of spur of the moment. I was shopping, passed the spread section, and said “What the hell”. I thought I knew what currents tasted like, turns out they taste like Cabernet.
