Shasa is not a day over 65. He’s great! If I ever get to Wine Library I want Gary to introduce him to me.

    Jim

P.S. Great show Pipes. You will love BC wines.

More Canadian wine please….I am self employed…

McCain for sure now. If your voting for HillBill or Obama your voting for higher taxes, so you won’t be able to buy more wine! Freaks me out anyway how anyone can vote for Hillary…that’s just plain scary.

    Hey Gary!
A really fun, but kind of messy ep. Pipes is the Bomb Diggety! Totally Radool!
I have to say that you Dad completely stole the show. I tell you…his love for bread almost surpasses my own. Also, the look on his face when Pipes started playing with the dolls is classic.
    QotD 1 – 52
    QotD 2 – Obama
QotD 3 – IF I could shadow someone…I’d probably shadow a wine critique during a state fair tasting or something like that…You get to drink lots of wine for free….you’re only comparing a dozen or so wines….and you’re just ranking them….sounds like a pretty chill job to me.

Gary that was one of the top 10 episodes in my book :) Pipes videos are awesome i stumbled upon them awhile ago and thought they were great.

    QOTD:
    -Probably Obama
-Sasha is probably around 65 years old
-I would like to shadow the president of the company because i would like to see how hectic the day would be.

A most entertaining episode! Really enjoyed “Pipes”.

Sasha is 60 and I would like to see more of him on future episodes.

Jacques Pepin, because in my opinion he is the “total culinary bomb”!

    Vanyniac steals the show…..UH… I mean seat…lol

That was funny watching you try to get back into your seat after Jen stole it but could not pull it off. But hey, you tried. As Jen said….she always wanted to sit there anyway…!!!

I see you were very uncomfortable but after 3 minutes of giving it your best shot you saw there was no chance and decided to take the guests chair. I like how you even pulled Mott into it as a decoy so that when you returned you might be able to do the switch & slide over then….but that didn’t happen either….lol

Should have entered from the right side. That would have worked. Too Funny…!!!!

Good show though. Love your Father. He’s the best. Nice Man!

    QOTD:

    1. Hugh Hefner……why….Hummmmm I wonder!!!

    2. Sasha has to be around 67…but of course he looks in his 50’s. But with the 8 kids comment and the fact you were 3 when he came here….I’m guessng older.

    3. I dred the thought of who will win…. unless of course you are a write in at the last minute Gary!

    that was a great epi.
    qotd: 63
obama (please please please, and if not, hilary)
i’m a musician, so i don’t care about shadowing a rock star or anyone like that. but shadowing a garbage collector, or maybe a construction worker, that’d be cool. someone who makes my world go ’round. actually, that was a great question to help us appreciate what other people do. recently on a trip to guatemala I got to pick coffee beans with the local mayan women. it was really interesting seeing how they work. man, they work hard. buy fair trade coffee.

Gotta say…you and “Pipes” would make a nice couple. She’s a perfect match for you..she is “spunky” and has tons of personality. I could watch her with you on a regular basis.

See, it took a woman beside you to get me to advance from “lurker” to making a comment!!

    She’s a keeper!!

Sweetness. Can we get Sasha on at least once a week? I would guess he’s 54 years old, and I’m taking Sasha in the Sasha v Conan Showdown.

OBAMA IS LIKE THAT Bordeaux BlEND FROM BRITISH COLUMBIA……..TOO YOUNG AND LEAVES AN AWFUL DRY TASTE IN YOUR MOUTH. Oprah said this primary is not about Race and then when she speaks to endorse the candidate she addresses people as MY BROTHERS AND SISTERS…………..OBAMA BIN LADEN…..OBAMA TOO CLOSE TO OSAMA!!! GO CLINTON…. BRING THE CLINTONS BACK TO THE WHITE HOUSE AND GIVE AMERICA TO THE PEOPLE…..AND JOSH L…TELL YOUR BARS IN NEBRASKA WHERE THERE ARE LOTS OF MEAT PACKING UNIONS AND MIDDLE CLASS WORKERS AND FARMERS…..they should be ASHAMED Of SUPPORTING and Inexperienced OPRAH WINFREY DRUNKEN TED KENNEDY (SCANDOLOUS KENNEDY) CANDIDATE…..HILLARY WAS THE BEST FIRST LADY IN US HISTORY A GREAT SENATOR AND WILL MAKE THE BEST PRESIDENT THIS COUNTRY HAS EVER SEEN……Change my first answer….. I want to follow Oprah Winfrey Around For a Day so I can Wrap Duct Tape Around her mouth and BROTHERS AND SISTERS to Shut Up about this way too young, way too inexperienced TERRORIST Of A CANDIDATE…. Now back to speaking about Wine…See what you started SASHA????

Sasha Probably 57 Years Old, I want To Shadow Gary V…that’s why I keep entering these stupid contests…kidding…. and I can’t believe how many of you Oprah fans repsonded Obama Bin Laden……..Are you nuts electing a Terrorist…or A Republican who wants to blow up Iran on top of not bringing home our soldiers from IRAQ !!! By the way when I was a Radio host in Phoenix in a former life before I got in to wine and became a Sommelier I interviewed McCain and he has the Worst Body Odor Problem I have Ever Seen. I think Gary V was correct Don’t ask a Political Question of the day…but you Vayniacs are scaring the living daylights out of me. Elect An OPRAH Endorsed TERRORIST as President with No Experience!!! Hillary ALLL THE WAY BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    awesome episode.

    1) 59
    2) Tim Burton because his movies are crazy-cool, or Tony Bourdain because he goes everywhere and tries everything (though I’m not sure I’d want to eat everything he does)
    3) let’s go Obama!

    Gary,

When are we going to see a video tour of the Wine Library?

haha I can’t believe how many people said Warren Buffet! That’s what I get for not reading the posts before answering (and now I look like I am a huge bandwagon jumper-on-er).

Ok, to be more original: Andy Reid on draft day. I’d love to see how my team goes through the motions of picking their draft.

  22. February 8, 2008

    Tom G. of the CKC

Another great episode. I love trying wines from non-traditional US states (Texas, Pennsylvania, NJ, etc.) so this episode was great.

    QOTD(GV): 65 years old
QOTD (P): Warren Buffet. The guy makes billion dollar deals like he’s paying for a burger at McDonald’s. Who wouldn’t want to see what that’s like?
QOTD (S): Almost certainly John McCain.

  23. February 8, 2008

    Chippewamike

Awesome show. More Vaniacs on the show please!

Sasha is 64. I would love to follow George W. Bush just to see what actually goes on in his meetings. Lastly, I think the next President of the United States will be Mr. Obama.

    Pipes was awesome too!

  24. February 8, 2008

    JerseyGirl turned CNY vayniac

    QOTD:
Gary’s question: I want to say early 60’s, but i think he looks younger than that. I’m also pretty terrible at guessing people’s ages, so I’m sorry if I’m way off Sasha.

Piper’s question: oh man, there are too many answers for this question…
I would shadow either Gary V (the exercise running around after him would be good for me, let alone the crazy wine knowledge and entertainment)
OR one of the hosts of TOP GEAR (if anyone even knows the show I’m talking about – check out BBC America) cause they’re hilarious
OR Alton Brown cause he knows so damn much and I always watch his show in awe of all the knowledge he can drop in 30 min
OR the guy on Food Network that owns that crazy cake shop… it looks like they have so much fun!
OR Kat VonD, cause she just rocks!
OR my uncle Mike cause he’s a scuba diving instructor – FUN
I could go on, but I wont. I think I watch too much TV.

Sasha’s question: I’m thinking Obama might make it. But I know SQUAT about politics, so dont listen to me.

  25. February 8, 2008

    Rice

QOTDs: He’s 59 but looks 25, Bill Clinton for a day, and I won’t mix politics with wine. ;-) But to respect Sasha’s Q… I have to say Hillary cuz statistically Obama is too young and too inexperienced. I wish I could say McCain but my middle name is a Democrat president.

Super obnoxiously awesome show… way outa the box… keep it fresh! It will be hard to top this episode.
