O Gary V. Why are you even reviewing a wine like Alban? None of your uneducated wynos could even buy direct. I have had this particular wine many times and it is Roussane. It is bigger and waxy and in an environment like The Edna Valley John probably had to wait until the wine got to such high sugars so that the wine would come out to 16.% alc. It is so cool out there and with all of the wind phenolic ripening can be shut down forcing to harvest later and as you may well know the Edna Valley as rain is concerned is a desert so he can push the ripeness but final alch. on the label does not matter is the wine hot or not? This wine is not, you probably did not give it enough air and did not have the correct temp, im guessing too warm. He always labels how it is, i know the man. With the Ca labeling laws he could have labeled it 15%. And I will let you on a dirty little secret other wineries would have just labeled it what they think is correct for verrital and if the TTB needs samples they get those guys. Mr. Alban is a master why don't you taste the Reva, Seymore's, or Patrina on this show. But do yourself a favor with the whites open half a day and the reds open one to three days prior depending on how young or dense the wine is. I relay wish you would work crush so you could actually understand how a winery works, it would make you a more rounded fellow. In all truth though bag the wines I like more for me less for the Veneyack herd.

I was disappointed to see the poor showing of the Alban Rousasane as like you it is one of my favorite white grapes. Is this part of the alcohol creep we have seen so much about? I had a Zind recently that the bottle said was 16.2% but it was a port to me at 17-18%. Had one Gewürtztraminer from Stoney Hill winery that I really liked and the style wasn't too floral with green tea and chamomile aspects to it.

Manage to make my girlfriend feel special on Valentines despite her being in Cali and me being in Burgundy so I consider that spreading the thunder.

QOTD: Muscadet de Sevre et maine, nice inexpensive white that would seem to go great with some sort of sea food. A nice find
