Gary- LOVE the sound of the Old World characteristics of the 2005 Amirault Bourguiel La Coudraye !! :)

I’m sure to have a few in the cellar. I’ll try to pop one this weekend. Yeah, A “Bitch, I can’t Turn Left” t-shirt would be awesome!

Gary, great show….and great to see some Cab Franc’s on the show…however my answer to your question is no. Not this week…I’m on hold from buying new wines for a month or so…and I’m on a white kick…not feelin’ the reds right now. It’s just a for now thing…

Friends are falling by the wayside……think shawn will talk to you again……
QOTD – yeah, yeah…I’m on it.

Kudos to giving an honest review on the Larkin CF. For $60 it better rock someones socks off.

QOTD: I’ll drink a Chinon tonight!

Great show I thought it was gonna be 3 for 3, its all good though considering you could buy 3 for 1 of those.
QOTD I have had Cab Franc from the Loire and they usually rock, if i see one i’ll pick it up and bring back more love.

Great stuff GV, gotta love the Loire Valley! Way to bag your buddies wine, geeeez, sometimes a little white lie is good, poor guy just got lambasted in front of 30,000 people. Kidding, gotta do what you do bro.
    QOTD: Yes, my pleasure!

You got it, Gary. I’ll try to have a Boorgoy with my Poorboy this weekend.

Ruthlessly honest about the Larkin, and he’s your buddy! You’re a brave soul – a lesser person might have just avoided trying it on camera, in case he didn’t like it. But that’s why you get the respect, GV.

Dude, that’s like 10 episodes in a row…every day…you know we appreciate that…so Loire cab franc is on the way…thanks GV.

QOTD: Sorry man, but 1: I can’t drop 20 bucks on a single bottle of wine, 2: the
“old world” taste absolutely does not appeal to me, and 3: there are a million (well, 20-30) other wines that I need to try asap.

Hell, I enjoyed the episode though. Funky vegetables in the rain, wet dog and cow shit- sounds familiar. Maybe if I drink a shot of pure everclear and my tastebuds burn out I’ll enjoy the funk. I’ll bookmark this episode and put it in my “to try in one year” folder.

QOTD: If I can find one I will definitely try and report back…not a lot of variety here on the plains.

GV you need to do a show with a live audience this year. Not just the drive by audience you get in the office but a serious vayniac attended live show. I think it would be HUGE!!

G – Im drinking Cab Franc tonight. I love the Franc.

Today was a great example of why WLTV rocks (fun, instructive and with honesty and integrity). Saying exactly what you thought about the Larkin bottle took guts but its exactly why I watch. No bs, but straight from the heart. Thanks GV!:)

    Yes….I will.

Can you email me your suggestion?

    Thanks brother!

Honesty, even though it may come at the expense of a “friend” is why the Vayner Nation adores you. Thank you for a great show and one that enlightens us.

QOTD: I promise to put some “funk de funk that smells like a skunk in the trunk” this weekend and leave a tasting note.

    Cheers!

P.S. You hit the nail on the head, the pill out of the park on the CARM. Glad I waited for it. Very nice. I may take a bottle to a friendly wine tasting soon.

YEEAAH…every Aussie Shiraz dreams at night of one day becoming a Chinon.

QOTD: I’ll absolutely drink a Loire Cab Franc for you over the next couple days. I think out of the two cases of wine I have in my little “cellar”, five of them are Cab Franc!

  22. February 12, 2008

    Marc

OK, you twisted my arm…which doesn’t take much! Cab Franc this week is now the plan.

We’ve had Cab Franc but not from Loire Valley. It would be an educational experience.

QOTD: Probably not this weekend…Seeing as it is the weekend after valentines day and we aren’t going to have much time to celebrate during the week. We are pretty much looking to enjoy a wine that we both think is DELICIOUS…maybe a zinfandel. But we will look for it in the future.

i am still feelin my way through chino and cab franc. i have not given up on it, but it doesn’t tickle my elmo. i bout some charles joguet, les varennes du grand clos 05. i have not tapped it yet, but when it is mature, i look forward to it. i am trying.
it is a tough deal to drop some major constructive criticism on your buddies but i commend you for doing it. it could have been easy to say it is great, buy 2 cases!
QOTD: i will go out and get some. there are some that i have been checkin out.i told myself no french wine for 2 weeks with the exception for vday with some champagne : )
    bravo

QOTD — sorry, still not my flavor profile (all the greeness). Although I do sometimes like the funk — sippin’ a Fer right now that has it big time.
