great show, unfortunately we don’t see these wines in Singapore.
I have one question? why are there 4 to 5 corks on t table and only 3 bottles?? does that mean that a few of them where off?

    long live screw cap!

QOTD: Oregon Pinots?? Can recall the last time I have had one. Other PinotsI have had the Dubakella, I picked up during your last sale. I liked it very much. I do think it leaned a little left towards new world. I like old but still really enjoyed it.

    Thanks

Can’t say that I have. I’ll be keeping my eyes open though. The only pinot noir I’ve had so far was really weak.

QOTD: Absolutely. Stoller Vineyards was the most recent Big O pinot noir I had.

love Pinot; but mostly Burgundian old world style. There are 2 producers I LOVE from Russian River Valley as well; small boutique winerys with families and GREAT people—Davis Family and Holdredge—they both make Pinots with a little new world pop, but very defined balance in the fruit and acidity-all that is right about Pinot! The last one I had was an 2005 Davis Family that was spectacular. thanks for the show!

QOTD- The last pinot from Oregon I had was DePonte, probably the reason for that is because it is my family’s winery. Being as objective as I can be it is solid Oregon pinot and could stand up to any of big boys around here (Oregon). We have a 2 pinot noirs all estate fruit (1200-1500 cases $34), and a Family reserve (150 cases $58) would love to have you try them Gary, let me know if you are interested. Ironically I am not really a pinot guy (get a lot of crap from my family about that), it is way down my list of favorite varietals but I think we are doing it the right way here in Oregon, we have a French winemaker that studied in Burgundy with the Drouhins (Domaine Drouhin by the way is our next door neighbor at the winery and vineyard) we also have the oldest muscadet vines in Oregon and make a couple hundred cases of a white wine we call Melon, hope this doesn’t sound like an advertisement. Be came a Vayniac only four or five months ago amd can’t wait to wear the wine library wrist band at our next big tasting event (I always get to pour the our best wine during those events). I have been a wine geek for 20+ years, have a massive cellar and am having more fun and enjoyment with and because of wine now than I ever have, I am sure you have something to do with that enjoyment.

QOTD: Yes, I drink more Oregon Pinot Noir than any other kind of wine these days. The last bottle I had was last night, and was the 1997 Thomas. I gave it 90-91 points, and found it perfectly mature with powerful tart dark cherry nose and flavors, along with a touch of minerality and meatiness. Thomas Pinot Noirs have a very small production and are hard to find….almost impossible outside Oregon, but are highly regarded by Oregonians, including the winemakers there. I fell in love with Oregon pinots at the International Pinot Noir Celebration some 19 years ago, and have been a serious collector of them ever since. By the way, I highly recommend the International Pinot Noir Celebration in McMinneville, Oregon, as one of the best wine/food events in the world. I have been 11 times, and am headed back this year.

last time had pinot is…… quite sometime ago… most likely was from yarra valley, victoria. they don’t have that deep colour saw on those 3… slightly lighter & more floral aromas to them. not quite my type of wine though

Great show! I love Pinot Noir. My tasting group is having a Pinot Noir tasting next Wednesday here in my place. QOTD: I’d have to say no. I’d love to, but I don’t remember the last time I had Oregon Pinot Noir. Next Wed, I’m bringing Cali Pinot. Hopefully someone will bring Oregon. I also have Chile and Marlborough (NZ).

QOTD: The last Oregon Pinot we drank was the Dobbs Assemblage–wasn’t that crazy about it. Had the EIEIO and recall bacon and meat juices(venison and Slim Jims to you). Visited Oregon in 2005. Absolutely loved it. Brought back a wine called The Pines 1852–it was a 2001 Zin, extremely well-made. Also a Christopher Bridge Pinot.

I used to love pinot, but have been having trouble finding one I like lately…maybe it’s be evolving PAL! Anyway, no OR ones lately, but just yesterday I tasted a local pinot that reeked of twizzlers…the winemaker wasn’t quite sure how to handle that descriptor.

QOTD: YES I drink the big O, but definitely not enough… I blame the prices on new world pinot… and in turn blame Sideways.
STANGELAND Pinot Noir was the last Oregon Pinot I had.

P.S. Happy Valentines Day to you and Liz, and to Mamma Vaynerchuk and Sasha.

Yes……… We have tryed Oregonian Pinot !

    A little pricey………but delicious; “Ponzi”

Health note! Oregon Pinot’s boast the highest levels of reservatrol on the planet. Certainly a very good reason to drink them.

    Up with Oregon Pinot’s !
