Gary…too many Rieslings out there between the ones from Alsace, Australia, California and New York. So far the ones I have enjoyed most come from Alsace. It would be intersting to compare them side by side. QOTD#1- Wines from SW France…really good and all under $25! QOTD#2- Went to a wine shop in Greenwich Village over the holiday that only poured NY wines, tasted through many and unfortunatley enjoyed none.

QOTD 1: Yes, I expanded my palate with a Rose last weekend … and …
QOTD 2: about to go to the store to find my first NY wine for this weekend.

FedEx delivered my Official Vayniac t-shirt yesterday and I’m proudly wearing it on this LAID BACK FRIDAY!

QOTD: I actually had this Reisling a few months ago and I gave it an 89.
The finger lake wines are actually good and this Reisling was better
    than I expected.

Gary, you always make the Gewurztraminer sound so good!!

QOTD 1: Had some of the Duboeuf Beaujolais Nouveau 2007. I found it better than the KJ Pinot but bland compared to a Chateau Lascombe that I had a few weeks ago. Had my first Sauterne. Stunning! Drank the whole 750 in about three days!

QOTD 2: New York wines? Don’t recall any. Unless you count New York “Champagne”. LOL!

QOTD – Closest I have gotten to a NY wine is a Marechal Foch from Wisconsin.

QOTD: Living on Long Island, tough not to have tried some. I would recommend the Borghese Cab Franc, good effort for the price. Took a trip through the finger lakes to try the Rieslings and either established that I don’t like Riesling or I don’t like NY Riesling. Far too many sweet wines for my liking but did enjoy Standing Stone.

QOTD: 2006 Standing Stone Riesling – my notes: Pale yellowish color. Floral bouquet with some apple and pear. Light body with pear, apricot and mineral notes. Medium-light acidity with a crisp finish. 86 pts

QOTD 1: Of course! My palate’s getting trained, it’s my nose that I wonder about sometimes.

QOTD 2: I’m really not sure. I know I don’t have anything in the house right now from NY.

what i’d like to suggest: gary takes a bathtub, fills it with petit verdot grapes and also a mixture of various jams and jellies, then adds a hot model and jumps in while slathering the buttocks with excellent sexuality while reciting poems and laughing?
