QOTD……Not a big chardonay fan, and at 29 bones…a bit above my price range…

Great show…Gotta admit that I”ve never really enjoyed chardonnay wines, as they always seem too oaky and slightly bitter to me..I’ll try the St-Aubin though, maybe I’ll change my mind.. Cheers

This was the first time I got to relax all day. Other than spending time with my wife and daughter – best part of my day.

Mott, please tell Gary when he’s missed a button or two and maybe toss him some lotion w/ shea butter in it? It’s ok, though-those of us w/ male children felt right at home today ; ) Good ep.

QOTD: I have never had a St. Aubin, but if this is a profitable week I will look for one right away.

Mostly drinking reds these days, but will have to look for a bottle of this white, never had wine from the region. I normally drink wines with a lower price point, but maybe on a special occasion it would be worth uncorking.

QOTD: I’m almost positive that I’ve seen Saint Aubin on a label a couple times before, but I’ve never heard anything about it or had it recommended, and like Kenny below I tend to buy reds (or at least spend larger amounts on reds than whites)…but they do sound very interesting.
Also, I’ve been interested in finding white wines that can age for more than a couple years just to see/smell/taste the difference in a bottle over time – so thank you for mentioning the potential for cellaring these whites.

QOTD: No, I’ve never had a St. Aubin. Why? Because I’ve never see one around here and WL can’t ship to Washington. What’s a person to do? I’ll keep looking though.

What was up with Gary’s Two Button shirt today?!?!?

QorD: The availability of wines were I live.

QOTD: What’s holding me back? It’s white wine! I will buy a red wine over a white wine EVERY TIME when I am paying for wine.

    Tommy Vernieri

    Psssst, your shirt’s unbuttoned!

QOTD: Really it’s the price point. It’s not very often that we buy wine that’s more than $20.

Don’t let that discourage you though. I’m glad I know about St. Aubin now and it’s really informative to hear you talk about the different appellations, even just to hear it in conversation rather than only seeing it as words on a label.

I definitely need to explore white wines more. Will try to get one of these the end of this week (pay day) :)

Also gave me the great idea of sending a bottle of one of these to a family member who loves white wine for her Anniversary in May!

QOTD: Never tried that region before

QOTD: I think I am waiting till I make more money. As a graduate student, I still roll with the cheaper bottles.

What am I waiting for? I’m a little low on cash since I just spent $50k on a wine cellar! No, just kiddin, what would really slow me down is the price. I think I have to buy less wine during the week, so I can afford a couple bottles of more expensive wines. Thanks for the episode!

Very exciting show! Thanks for bringing the new thunder daily. Coming into the wine world during the ABC (anything but Chardonany) era, I have not had much Chardonnay. Most of my white wine experience has been riesling, sauvignon blanc, and random blends. The chards I did have were new world. The bigger and oakier, the better the rating type of thing. I have recently asked myself, what makes a Chardonnay great if it isn’t really oaky or rich? Can it match the aroma of a good sauvignon blanc, or the ageability of a great riesling? I think this show has at least steered me in the right direction. Thanks Gary.

QOTD: No I have never had a St. Aubin, but after this show I will have to find a few.

QOTD: what’s holding me back? How about alimony AND two kids in college. I can’t throw $25+ at a bottle of wine on my income. Aint gonna happen.

    Wow..the Hubert already sold out

QOTD: yep..gee thanks, why don’t you just tell them about Saint-Bris too.
