I can honestly say that unfortunately I have never had a white Burgundy. Boo! I enjoy red Burgundy quite a bit so I look forward trying out white. This spring, it is ON.

QOTD: I have not tried a St. Aubin, since this is the first I have ever heard of them, but I will look for it and consider it, but the price is a little steep.

QOTD – Never had, but will – thanks!

I sell the Saint-Aubin 2003 at my store in CT, would you consider it more of a deal for that vintage at $17.99? I’m, not a big white wine guy, but I did enjoy the 2003. Cheers to reviewing yet another wine from my store. Thanks Gary!

My favorite white wines are white Burgundies. I have had St. Aubin and are a great QPR for a white Burgundy. White Burgundies ,overall, are the best Chardonnays you will find worldwide. I also love Chablis coming from near this region of France.

    Hey Gary………..

I think you should briefly explain, some of the terms you use. “Premium Cru”

Especially with French wines; were there is so much confusing wordage on the label. It can be intimidating for us novices buying French wine.I think possibly even stops some from making that purchase. It certainly does for me.

I just got Kevin Zraly’s revised “Windows on the World- Complete Wine Course”.
It is easy reading and I finally am begining to understand some of the many terms used in French Wine labeling.

QOTD: I have not had one, but I will have to go and find it. Hard to find some around here.

QOTD: I’m waiting for availability at the near campus liquor stores/supermarkets and a CKC friendly price

    OK,
Since you’re ALREADY sold out of the last two — QOTD: I’ll have to seek them out elsewhere. Yes, I’m a fan of the white Burgundies but again with combo of the Euro and increasing sophistication of wine drinker’s they’re harder to find at affordable prices.
I’ve had the wines from the surrounding areas and yes, they are outstanding. Now it’s too bad the “secret” of St Aubin is out because it’s hard to find them too.

    What’s holding me back? Availability.
BUT. I in a few weeks I’ll be spending a week a mere 5 km from the village of St Aubin. I will give it a go. I promise.

Damn it Gary, you are adding to my shopping list tommorow.
1st a Loire Cab Franc now this.

Have to say thanks though, never thought wines from this area would rock, but thinking about where it is, why not?

Love finding out about these less well known areas, thanks again

QOTD. No I haven’t tried a St. Aubin yet, but I’ll seek them out now!

Thanks again, for broadening our horizons!

I haven’t tried St. Aubin because I make yearly treks up and down California and I have too much chardonnay to drink it all now, let alone buy more from France.

I ordered the Hubert Lamy St. Aubin Clos Chatennier only 60 comments into the show. Unfortunately, the 3 bottles left that didn’t come in contact with Gary’s shirt were already sold. :-(
Gary – please did up some more of that St. Aubin.
Great episode. But I’m still itching…

I like White Burgundy and have had a number of them over the years. I have not tried a St. Aubin however. When I get back into white burgundy purchases, I will try one.

    Nice show Gary.

QOTD: The only thing holding me back, prior to the show, was ignorance of the region. Thanks, AGAIN, for dropping knowledge on the net and helping to expand my wine horizons.

GV, thanks for the schooling on St. Aubin. Looking forward to trying one. (Because not looking forward to spending 3x the price on a Meersault.)

Whatever happened to the Link It Up, Mott! tee-shirts? Still working on that re-design? :)

Jeeeze the descriptions are making my mouth water. Looks like it might be time to break open the piggy bank and try some higher priced wines.
