happy anniversary Gary! the show is much appreciated and we all love you! what I would love also is if you flew a pretty girl to the thunder show and Mott poured many buckets of ripe petit verdot grapes with jellies and jams all over you two in a hot tub or a big mud bath in the hills while you slathered and smothered buttocks while singing great Bjork tunes and laughing with reciting poems and getting sticky and excellent sexuality?

    two years, one important man..

me! haha, just joking. in all seriousness I’d like to congratulate you fully on this awesome achievement, offer my fullest and warmest “birthday wishes” to the vlog, and I am sure I speak for many of the “Vayniacs” when I say that the time and effort put in, away from other things, family, etc. is immense and much appreciated.

    ….and many more

Couldn’t the UVA be corked even if it’s a screwtop? Couldn’t there be TCA at the winery somewhere?

Does Mott white-balance the camera before filming? The episode looks a little Matrix-green today.

Hey, again, congratulations on 2 years. Astounding.

Great show even if I didn’t win and nice “secret”. I will definately look it over tonight.

If you ever find it overwhelming, slow it down to a few shows a week. You can still make a difference. I have bought twice the amount of wine I used to since I started listening (Watching) and many varitals I may not have tried. I only wish I lived closer to the library. snif..snif. My daughter just moved to Main, so it may be in the future, show knows.

Very good episode, thanks for everything you are doing Gary. Thanks for doing a fun show and taking the stuffiness out of a previously stuffy subject!!

The show makes me appreciate not only wine more that I could have possibly imagined, but life as well. Your bond with family, either by blood or thunder, is incredibly inspiring. The show could cheer me up on the worst possible day, and that means a lot to me and many others I am sure.

I wish you the best on this two year anniversary, and hope that you keep doing the show as long as it is possible for you.

    Thanks again!

Sto lat, sto lat, niech zyje zyje nam.
Jeszcze raz, jeszcze raz, niech zyje, zyje nam.
    Niech zyje nam!

    Which pretty much translates to:

Good luck, good cheer, may you live a hundred years.
Good luck, good cheer, may you live a hundred years.
Good luck, good cheer, may you live a hundred years.
    One hundred years!

Happy Birthday WLTV!!! This was such a great episode GV, you definitely didn’t disappoint! Sad I didn’t win, but maybe next time!

My statement of the day: Thank you GV, because without your guidance I wouldn’t be going down my current path now and getting into the wine industry. I have learned so much from you and from the show, had some great laughs along the way. And I’ve been able to connect with more people while drinking wine (I’m one up on ya, we have a tasting group out here)! Thanks for everything and I can’t wait for more knowledge and more laughs from the Thunder Show!

And who was that carrying the sign behind you? It felt very Monty Python-esque. Nice touch!

SOTD: You have a larger impact on our lives than I think many can comprehend.
QOTD: How the hell does that feel?

My thought process behind this…this show, the forum, and all of the interaction that comes from it has had a drastic impact on my life through meeting new people, and finding something that is both entertaining and informative. I can’t help but wonder how all of this has impacted you, your family(father, brother, mother, wife, ect), and the people you work in and around on a daily basis (Mott…link it up). Ok…before this get’s too crazy I thought I’d simply say that this is a great program and I (along with many others) appreciate it. Cheers!

    Statement:

I grew up in Canandaigua New York. Home of Canandaigua Wine Co. (now known as Constellation Brands), Richards Wild Irish Rose., Lake Country and Arbor Mist. At 17 I tasted Vernaccia di San Gimignano otuside of this little town called San Gimignano. Everything I had known disappeared, and I fell in love with wine. And now after having worked in the biz for years, I come home and watch this show everyday to remember the passion and discovery of finding that thing of beauty.

Here’s to remembering what it’s all about. Thanks G

I think it’s a very good thing that the drinking age here in the Netherlands is, at least for wine, only 16 years. Allows me (16) to expand my pal, and, maybe more importantly, to get me acquainted with alcohol before I’m allowed to drive :) (that’s at 18)

I haven’t been watching the show for that long, but I would certainly miss it if you wouldn’t get 1000 comments. Keep up the good work!

    SOTD: I just said it.

Great show, dagnabit I did not win the grand prize. Congrats to Doc Johnson.

    Happy 2nd Birthday/Anniversary!!!!

Hey gary! i didnt win anything but that was a great show! nice shot with the cork too.

But watching this i had a question going round in my head…I dont know if its the wines that i tune in for anymore, i mean the education you give rocks dont get me wrong… but do i just tune in now for the gary v action and the peppy-ness caffine shot entertainment???

    weird…

it must be your personality that makes wines interesting, you could probably sell horse s**t to a gypsy, i’m thankful that there are people in this world that inspire you and grab your attention and make you try things you wouldn’t normally. because without you ive no doubt in my mind that i wouldn’t be enjoying wine as much as I do now.

I don’t even live in the US so i cant even buy your wines, or pay you back in any way im all take take take, but from the bottom of my heart thanks gary + mott + everyone at the wine lib and HAPPY 2ND BIRTHDAY!

On a related note, I will be hosting a blind tasting mid March for 5 other couples here at the house. Decided to do this after receiving the awesome Christmas pak. An inspiration from you. Thanks!

After five weeks away, it’s a treat to reconnect with the Vayner Nation!I am extremely disappointed to have missed the competition… and that’s extremely with 20 z’s – but on the plus side, great to catch the Birthday show and to see GV on such glorious form.

My statement… having come home to a real mixed bag of good and bad news, I’m feeling philosophical. What’s it all about..? Family, community, making your mark, experience, taking pleasures, helping others..? Maybe we should all take a little leaf out of GV’s play book. Be your true self, hang it out on the line and create something special. HAPPY BIRTHDAY dude!

happy b-dzay to you WLTV- I, we really appreciate your commitment to not just your customers and fans, but to the entire wine world. It IS changing, but alas I cannot take advantage of free shipping because of my state’s outdated laws.
BTW- I’d like one of those wristbands, too(I’ll even send in a photo of it if you want)
Statement- after hearing you rate that pricey Brunello,I don’t feel so bad now with my inexperienced pal giving a wine I tasted the other night a 73(it was BAD)
thanks to all of you at WLTV who make this happen.

SOTD: Gary… I’ve said it before. You’re my hero. Not just because it’s fun to watch you drink straight from the bottle, but because you’ve got the heart and soul to have fun with something that’s been so “stuffy” for so long. PLUS I adore your devotion to family. It’s inspiring to me to be so open about it. Thank you.

    Happy birthday WLTV!

p.s. I can’t participate in the “secret stuff” because you don’t ship to Wisconsin. Any chance I can get a list of the special secret stuff so I can try to shop around here?

I heard Gary on the radio this morning.
It was the first time I’ve ever heard of winelibraryTV ! and I just enjoyed my first viewing of it. I checked out the Conan show as well.
I’m hooked!!! Thank you for making a childhood of eating things like sand and silly putty, and chewing on pennies become the essential tools for assessing, and appreciating the flavor of wine.
Congrats on 2 Years! Thunder on! Can anyone recommend a wine that has flavors of sand, silly putty and pennies?

Happy Anniversary WLTV, Gary & Mott! I’m happy to be an official Vayniac (although my forum stats are yet to display so!), and I look forward to many more episodes! And…I look forward to meeting you peeps real soon!

My comment: I salute WLTV, Gary, & everyone who follows their passion & dreams, no matter how crazy they are, and no matter what obstacles may be in the way. That is the way I live my life- it may not be “picture perfect,” but it’s ME! If you build it, they will come baby! God Bless. ;-)

Nice show GV and thanks for all of the goodies and the wine with free shipping. Very cool, though sadly, I am in the midst of a SIWBM right now.

Like you, I am thankful for health, family, liberty, country, prosperity and a little discretionary cash to buy some wine now and then!

Thanks for your encouragement to trust our own palates and try different wines. I am really getting into exploring the wine universe.

BTW, I absolutely adore CdP, but find most of them way over my budget, so today’s last wine is tempting. It too is borderline from a budget POV, but I’m starting to cave!

I’ve been a viewer for about a year and you’ve changed my life Mr. Vay ner chuk. You can tangle with Tanzer, Parker, and Burghound and hold your own. It’s a fact that many chefs don’t really know wine and you could help them a lot. Pairing wine with birthday cake….I’m very impressed with Portugal and Spain at the moment. Languedoc-Roussillon is still bringing the thunder with great QPR. I’m thinking that one of the most food friendly wines is Riesling. Most people don’t know a Spatlese from and Auslese so put on some Lederhosen (Sp?)and let’s forgive the Faderland and enjoy some Kabinett. The Austrian contingent needs love and they even make a good red in Burgenland. Gruner V and Gary V should work well together…

    Next stop 500!

If not himself, then he has naught.
    To say the things he truly feels;
And not the words of one who kneels.
The record shows I took the blows -

    Hi Gary,

Thanks for the education. How about helping me with this one: There are so many Italian wines with Sangiovese as the main grape. Yet some are so sharp and clean and acidic with light cherries, but others are medium bodied with lots of layers and dark cherries. I am confused. So how about a show on Sangiovese?

Congratulations on 2 years! I look forward to many more.

My wife and I started a “Wine Club” several months ago (way before I discovered WLTV). We get together with 3-4 other couples about every 6 weeks. It is so much fun and slowly but surely we are all learning about the nuances of wine. I think it’s a great idea to set aside specific times to get together and taste. I hope more and more people do it.

Statement: Summer of 1995. My wife and I go to San Fran for the first time. I’ve had maybe 5 glasses of wine in my whole life up to that point (I was 29 at the time). We spent one day in Sonoma Valley and I instantly became “Mr. Wine”. We bought 4 cases of wine that day and I’ve never looked back. Wine really does hit a nerve with certain people that cannot be explained. I love it.

Thanks for spreading that love in a way very few can.

    Peace Out,

    Rob

Wished I had started following you from the beginning-first heard of your show and saw you in SF for Wine 2.0- don’t remember how long ago- but didn’t even know what a blog was…………..
Glad to hear the good news on the Alvarino- was in Portugal this last year-wish we had more of their wines here! In the week I was there, I didn’t have a single bad wine. Sorry to hear about the SA Sauv Blanc- they seem to be hit or miss and then not consistant from year to year.
    Keep up the good work!

I hope some of those people with creative “spread the thunder” ideas won. We appreciate you sacrificing your time and energy to provide us with your wine insight and weekdaily entertainment. While we don’t ever want to see you exit from our daily routine, when you eventually must, all of us would cope much better if you stuck around with a once-a-week show instead of disappearing altogether. Cheers, and happy birthiversary!

Thank you very much, Gary and Mott and everyone at The Wine Library who helps make this happen. It think to say I enjoy the show is way too simple a term. It’s become part of my routine in life and it’s not so easy to add something to a full routine, I can only imagine what it takes to produce the show on the same basis. So thanks again.

Hey Gary another wonderful show. Congratulations on the 2 year and well deserved anniversary. I can now see like most of us viewers how much time and effort this show takes from you each day. All I can say is thank you for providing such an amazing venue for us wine fanatics. I have learned more about wines in the last seven months than years of reading boring books. I promise to keep spreading the “Thunder” to everyone I know. You make wine tasting enjoyable and that is why I tune in every day. Keep up the good work for as long as possible.

    Gary:

    Congrats again on Y2Vay-ner-chuk

Counter Statement: My grandparents & great grandparents came here from Italy. They, like you and your family from Russia, have made this a nation of immigrants. Would that all immgrants came here and busted a gut to make something of themselves. But imagine what would have happened to this country if we had shut our borders to immigrants like you, or the Italians of a century ago, or the Irish and Germans of a century and a half ago, etc. Where would you and I be? Where would America be? What a shame that would have been.

Thanks for the horizon broadening. Keep it up, man.

I just started watching last week, and I am hooked. I don’t really drink, but you’ve inspired me to maybe go to a wine tasting or two and expand my Pal. :-)

While the content you cover is cool, your personality is such a standout. Your playfulness, your heart, and your sincerity is inspiring. It’s nice to see those things aren’t as hard to find in people as I sometimes think.

Thanks for making me smile more in the last week than I think I have in months.

GV, I almost came to tears during your signoff. We all appreciate the time, effort, enthusiasm, and love you put into the show. There’s never been anything quite like winelibraryTV time in my life, nor will will there ever be. Many thanks, and CHEERS!

SOTD: Just a few years ago, I was a young fellow growing up on the farm in the rural midwest -in an area where very few embrace alcohol in any form except 12 packs of Bud or Busch. Since my teenage years, I’ve come to understand that wine, (better) beer, and spirits can be so much more than just a way to ‘get drunk’. They can be the spice of life, the part that makes the everyday a bit more interesting.

Who knew that bringing home a bottling of someone else’s hard work could make any day one to remember?

Wow! Two years on strong! Keep it up and we’ll keep watching. We enjoy new shows with dinner and a glass or bottle of wine every evening with dinner (depending how bad the day was!). We’ll be at the Taste of Washington and look forward to seeing you there.

BTW we stopped by one of the local wine merchants tonight and had a taste of Chateau Lascombes 2003-2006! We ended up with some less expensive wines from CDP, Crozes Hermitage, Bordeaux and Gigondas. All French! We love the old world ’cause it ROCKS with complexity and structure that is hard to find here!

I had an epiphany today while talking with a new account this afternoon. You are so freaking on point with your closing statement for every show… For the first time it was easy to understand our (the new generation of wine consumers) impact on the demistification of wine. It can be whatever you want it to be and we are for sure making a change, little by little. Ah, it feels good… Thanks for some great, inspirational shows!! Check out the Cluver Dry Reisling from Elgin South Africa. About $14 bones and since you are a lemon fanatic (here here!), it freakin rocks. And the Thirsty Thursday tastings are on!!! Will keep you updated

During this episode I was sipping on a Mas Lumen La Sylve 2001 that I bought as a future a year ago — KILLER!! I hope that you truly enjoy what your doing and realize what a pleasure it is for folks like myself to have this outlet. Its nice to step away from work and the other aspects of life and learn a bit more about my new hobby of enjoying wine. Hi there Gary, and the team of winelibrary from Austria ;-)

    Happy 2nd Anniversary!!!

this show was great again, just the two bottles which did not really fit in that show – but anyway, when you tasted the birthday cake I got hungry,…

I read through the comments and there was one which describes it like I feel here in Austria – everytime I am drinking wine with friends and customers in our winery I use your vocabulary like “snippy sniff” – do I spell it right? Doesn´t matter, you know what I mean – and people look at me if I was from another galaxy, … ;-)

As you know I am a very “young” – because of one week looking episodes of WLTV – watcher but I will stay with you because you are so great doing this job. Already told a lot of people they should give it a try and watch your show. And do you know what – everybody, really everybody told me, they like it very much. So maybe we will start a WLTV-GV – fan club in Austria? Who knows?

So keep us teaching to use our pal,
    c u at episode #413,
    cheers,
    Chris

Just a quick note on wine tasting,I started watching your show about July/07,loved red wine and was just in a process of reading about it and different wines, thats how i discovered your site.
I try different wines and try to sniff correct smells, always cherry ,coffee choc, never a real fan of white wines.Tried a italian white the other day with a thin steak wrapped around a pickle(roladin).Sniffed the wine and hooky dinah,it smelled like pears, like del monte,we were blown away, also it was a white with red meat, whod o thunk.trusting my palat.I wish we could order wines to winnipeg, but oh well, how about trying some BC WINES,or come to my city,I will take you and your spouse out,by the way it is minus 35 degrees out, cool eh.
    Thanks for the shows Jim

I am not a complete lurker, I comment from time to time. Today is one of those times. Very good episode, loved the passers-by in the background, even the guy with the sign.
I have had some excellent Languedoc-Roussillon wines in the past. Even with the dollar in the tank, still not overpriced for the value.
SOTD: I agree with JC. My grandfather was killed in the in the Mexican Revolution. My mother and grandmother came to the U.S. after a mob in Chihuahua burned down my gm’s 2nd husband’s store, crossing into El Paso without papers. Immigrants are the backbone of this country. Hell, even the Shoshone crossed over from Asia, without papers.

OK – you’ve convinced me. I’ve ordered some 2005 Bordeaux and some white bordeaux. I’m glad to know that Alvarinho is the same as Albarino – my local wine guy didn’t know this. He has a very limited selection of either, but I am trying to go “A” instead of “C” or “R” in the white wine department.

Happy day to you, GV. Thanks for putting this out everyday for us to enjoy. And thank you for telling us to embrace our own palettes. I have done just that, and I’m loving it. I’ve been into wines for about a year now, and I’m really beginning to learn about what I really love and what I don’t like, and you’ve really helped me to embrace it. So thank you for all that you do.

    Wine Not?

Happy Birthday/Anniversary! I have only been part of the WLTV family since last November but I feel as if I’ve been watching your show forever, Gary! Thank you for all that you do for all of us and for making wine real. Even though I’ve been a wine geek for many years, I feel more confident now in saying what I smell or taste and not caring if others disagree!

By the way, I’ve trumped your T cubed (Third Thirsty Thursday) because some friends and I get together EVERY Thursday to drink wine! We’ll do a special toast when the third Thursday comes around, though….which by the way is TOMORROW!

SOTD: Think I summed it up in the first paragraph….you’re awesome, Gary! Sincerely hope you make it to Michigan one of these days so my friends and I can toast you in person!

Happy Birthiversary!!! Congrats to you, the wine lib, your wife and friends who share you with us and congrats to US the Vayniacs!!
My statement is that the Vayniacs are awesome! (this isn’t boasting or tooting my/our own horn) but I read through the comments and on the message board and it’s truly amazing just how many people from all different walks of life are on board here. I think that’s the true power of this movement; it makes it OK to have fun with wine. I read a lot of other publications and websites and a lot of critics or people say wine is about your own palate and so but this is the only program/format where I’ve seen it expressed and backed up by action and passion. The word is spreading, my friend, it’s going around the globe and it will be very interesting to see just how the wine world changes over the next years as the old guard gets older and older and the young bucks start filling the spaces. It’s not an us vs. them but a all of us together mind set that drives this movement and I love it!

    Cheers!!

Happy 2 year anniversary to WLTV, GV, Mott, and the rest of the crew! I really hope this show and the movement will last for many years to come. The success of your family and business is an inspiration and I think we all agree that having such a passionate, knowledgeable, yet humble guy as our wine guide is what we all had hoped for, especially if you are part of the younger crowd just getting into wine. I’m really inspired to take my liking for fine to a whole new level this year so that it’d be worthy enough to be called a passion. I would definitely like to start a tasting club and perhaps see if I could arrange to have you come and speak in front of my colleagues at the company I work for…we got like 6000 people at our plant site, i’d imagine i could get at least 100 people…

Thank you GV for what you do on WLTV. Without you simply showing us the tremendous variety of wines throughout the world, must of us would simply stay within a comfort zone I think. With your almost daily teachings, Professor Vaynerchuk, of the Wine Library Institute, you have taken us by the hand and demonstrated a wonderful wine world.

PS. Sorry for being an lurker at times.

Great show Gary and congrats on the 2nd anniversry/birthday of WLTV. Because of you I am enjoying my wine experience so much more. As I mentioned a couple days ago; today I purchased a 2005 Saint Aubin 1er Cru Les Frionnes Domaine Jomain white burgundy. It rolled in at 29 bones and I am planning an awesome sea bass meal to serve with it tomorrow evening. Don’t let me down GV. This wine better rock with my meal. My meager military retired pay can’t afford too many of these vinos so they better be good. Ah, who am I kidding, I will still love you even if the wine sucks. Cheers from San Diego

    Long time lurker, first comment.

I would like to thank Gary, and everyone involved in WLTV (including fellow vayniacs), for making this program. Gary, you are honestly one of the biggest inspirations I can think of. I wasn’t interested in wine at all before watching, but the passion you have for wine could convert anyone. I’m only 19, so I’m still waiting for my first legal sip of wine. I will most likely be as baffled as your brother in his first tastes ;) I admire the passion you have for what you do, you’re like the Jim Cramer of wine.

    Happy Anniversary WLTV!

I emailed Matt in case I’m the “Scott” that won the Apple TV. I’ve been posting comments for so long I never think about the name that appears anymore. If it is me, I’ll see if I can’t be a tad more creative with my screen name from here on out. If its not me, then I’m sticking with it in protest. :-)

GV, Thank you for encouraging me to get out there & expand my pallate. 3 years ago, I was completely intimidated to walk into a wine shop and buy French wine. I honestly had NO idea what any of it meant. I didn’t know Burgundy from Bordeaux. Between watching your show, talking to friends (who know more about wine than I do) and just trying different things, I have come to greatly enjoy wine. And as you always say, this has made me enjoy my family and friends even more. Thanks GV, you are the man!

GV, I’ve turned my habit of watching your show, by my lonesome. To an out right family affair. Your efforts are appreciated. I learn a bit more about what is out there in the wine world. My family gets a kick out of your play with words. I’ve transformed some friends and my sisters into Vayniacs. Starting to make attempts to bring a wine tasting weekend to my friends.

It is small, but I’m sure that is how you started. ;)

I’ve never experience the level of passion that you bring to the table. I am glad you do what you do. Gary, keep the passion going; keep the thunder rolling. We love what you do.

    GG, GV

The most impressed i have been with the wine community lately…..while at a local tasting i was talking with a few people for the first time, one of whom was blind. The owner happened to have a bottle with Brail on it…talk about expanding the wine world, i hope this year we can see ways of expanding wine to not just people drink other spirits or who can’t afford a good bordeaux, but those who we have not even thought of bringing into the wine community.

Semi-lurker here. Happy Birthday and congratulations on your 2nd anniversary. It’s a great show you put on and I’m learning more and more everyday because of you. I must admit to being a little intimidated to post very often but I do watch and the Wine Library is a once a month trip on my calendar.

I have a feeling when this show ends, we will be watching you on the bigger screen in the living room. Educational, entertaining, honest, and just plain enjoyable can all be used to desribe you and your show. Can’t wait for more. Food network will be calling any day now (if they haven’t already).

gary, big congrats to 2 years doing WLTV. I remember occasionally heading up to WL when I lived in New Brunswick and having the employees telling me about WLTV when it first started. I ignored them, but it finally took until my friend grant told me what was up about this to really realize what the thunder was about(and even then it took me until around the Joe Tensley Episode to start watching).

I have to give you a big thanks for having helping me check out as much wine as I’ve checked out and really turning me into a inquizative wine drinker and finding many different wines to be intriguing.

so, thank you for the two years and hopefully you’ll finally do a proper burgundy episode(c’mon I had to chime in with that as a burghead :) )

Great show Gary!!! Just the thought of the show going off depresses me… I look forward to this show as much as I do getting off work. At that is to say I look forward to it A LOT!!! lol Keep up the great work. I honestly do not know how you keep the energy level up day in and day out. I think you were just born to do this! Since I was old enough to drink my dad has been trying to get me into drinking/trying wines. I just never did until I was watching an episode of Diggnation a long time ago and Kevin gave you a shout out and said everybody needed to check you out. I did, and I’ve hooked ever since! This show is how I unwind after working 12 tedious hours in a very busy ER everyday (it seems everyday anyway). If a new show is not up, I’ll look for old ones that aired before I started watching. Now days, I watch WinelibraryTV and TheTotallyRadShow and that’s about it online. Can’t get enough!!!

happy anniversary! some of the most valuable things i’ve learned from the show are to try different things and to try different producers from regions/varietals that i thought i didn’t like. for quite a while i avoided grenache, because of a single bottle that was highly ‘rated’, but that i didn’t enjoy. as it turns out, i LOVE grenache and the show helped sparked my interest in giving this grape another try, and boy am i glad i did. i’ve also tried wines from some pretty unexpected places, the most interesting is probably Japan. anyone else tried a Japanese wine (and no, i’m not taking sake, i mean vinifera grapes here…)?

thanks for all the effort and, again, happy anniversary!

    Wow, not many comments yet!

SOTD: Wine rules. I haven’t been really “into” wine for very long, but boy did I dive in head first. I’ve been watching wine library TV since before episode 100, and I can’t believe it’s ONLY been two years (especially thinking about my two year old Nephew who is still so small!) Just like I can’t believe that wine I bought “way back when” is still not ready to drink, and looking at my purchase, I bought it four months ago… Enjoying a good glass of wine definitely does make me happy (not only at the moment, but kind of sort of in life in general), and I thank you for bringing me deeper into this life of wine. To another 20 years? ;-) Cheers.

What I’m drinking now: 2006 Enzo Boglietti Dolcetto d’Alba Tiglineri. Got the ‘05 from you, but this one is a different ball game all together! HUGE and tannic as all hell. 92 points Stephen Tanzer, for a $20 wine! I went 89 points because it’s so covered in tannins, but in a few years… this will rock!

Garryyyy, Happy 2nd Year Anni, I can’t believe I won !!! I am so totally psyched, I love it !! Can’t wait to see you at Taste Washington in Seattle and get your Thunderific opinion of my vino !!(ok, too many exclamation points) I can’t make it out on March 29th, it’s my wife’s birthday.

Great episode as always, especially liked the shout out to Allen Shoup.
I really hope that in the very near future you’ll be able to ship wines to Washington State ’cause I’m bummed out that I can’t order your 4 packs and taste along with the Vaynernation, not to mention getting killer ‘05 Bordeaux futures deals.

STOTD: This past year has changed my life. For the first time since I’ve been involved with wine professionally (since’92) I’ve seen it from a whole new viewpoint.
I’ve always felt like all the wine professionals I’ve encountered (with few exceptions) have taken themselves way to seriously and it started infecting my attitude as well. And now I’ve got a new outlook that really helps me to view wines based on what I like and not what others tell me. When I’m starting to slip back into old habits I remind myself that I like Pepperoni pizza and not Hawaiian, so why would I go along with someone else’s opinion of a wine when I honestly don’t care for it ? Thanks for all your insight and please hang in there for at least one more year !! Cheers ~ Max

Sorry for my lack of creativity, but I was too excited to talk about spreading the thunder. Anyway, next time, for this member of the CKC, just give away 4 Apple TV’s. I’m fairly new to wine. Just started getting into it a couple of years ago. I feel like I’m finally getting the basics of it. I was pleasantly surprised to find such passion in wine among so many people. It’s like a lot of other hobbies. When you first start you think it’s much smaller than it actually is. Then you find out there’s stores and magazines and contests and neighbors…AND sometimes even awesome dudes making history on the internet.

    G’day mate.

Big shout out from Australia down under.
Have watched every 412 shows and enjoyed everyone of them.
It was a relief when finally I came across someone out there who calls it as he sees it. I thought I was the only one who would say a wine smelt like dish washing powder, burnt rubber and peaches etc etc.
A big laugh on Episode 403 when Jen Piper used the comment “Grabs my tongue and makes it its bitch” Is that a Garry comment off air ?

Keep up all the great work and bringing the thunder!

Happy 2nd Birthday WLTV! And, thank you so much for continuing to do this, GV! As I said a long time ago, I don’t want to see the show stop any time soon, but even if you stopped tomorrow, my thanks for what you’ve done would vastly outweigh my disappointment. I haven’t been commenting much at all lately. Life’s gotten more hectic than I know how to handle (honestly, GV, I don’t know how you do it), but I’m still here and still lovin’ it. I’m so glad I found the show when I did. I was just getting interested in wine, and the market was flooded with all the establishment wine NO-ledge. It looked as if I was destined for snobbery, because the more I learned, the more I picked up the disposition of the “Parker” crowd I was learning from. But today I am somebody who enjoys experimenting with my palate in MANY ways, and you have played a big role in teaching me how to learn to experience everything I eat and drink more fully. There is also a small but enthusiastic group of friends out here in Elko, NV, that never would have learned to enjoy each other’s company over a glass of wine if it were not for your show. Thanks again buddy. Maybe I’ll see you again sometime.

P.S. How’s the Thundercat collection coming?

GV – YOU ARE THE MAN! I am learning so much from you – and breaking in my PAL to something new almost every day. Thanks for the inspiration – and thank God I still have a lot of catching up to do with previous episodes. Keep ‘em coming – don’t let the party end too soon. Remember, when the party ran down, Jesus’ first miracle was to turn water into WINE. (Obviously he wanted to keep things going too…)

Thanks again for 2 great years.

A very big happy anniversary/birthday to WLTV. You’ve given me not only the tools and knowledge to make me a better, more appreciative wine drinker, but also the motivation to keep on working at it. All that, and the show’s got great entertainment value as well. Congratulations to Gary, Mott, and everyone else involved, and also to that guy who managed to hold up the chalkboard through all the last few minutes of the show today.

The thing I love about WLTV is how it strips away the pretentious bull *#@$
that makes so many people afraid of wine. It’s fermented grape juice folks!
Yet it’s the worlds greatest beverage. I hope this show continues to turn people of my generation (21-28) on to wine and get them curious and exited about it.
Thanks Gary! This is truly a public service.

    Hi Gary,

great show and happy 2 year anniversary. I’m a new viewer, started around episode 400 when you threatened to quit the show. Didn’t think too much of it at the time but I realize now that it would have been a shame if you did. I am actually lucky to enter so late in the game – just think of all the old episodes I can watch! Love the show, been starting to try out some new things thanks to you and I hope to expand my palet even more in the future.

I was once a young twenty something who believed that wine was “better” if it was more expensive. Now, I am a thirty something who knows better – I love, LOVE, to explore new things and discover new bargains. I have relished in the joyous embrace of a crazily good seven dollar cab from Paso Robles – and I have suffered from the the crushing disappointment of a 20 cab from a major producer in, say, Napa….(Rodney Strong comes to mind….). Wine is an adventure. I love being a part of it. Thanks, Gary, for being around. It means a lot to us.

    best,

It finally came clear around 2:00AM. I had seen the link to Secret2 before. A
Christmas Story, Ralph is decoding a secret message on his newly delivered secret decoder ring.
Little Orphan Annie, his hero, has sent him a secret message – Drink your Ovaltine!, the sponsor of the show. Well, whatever you are doing it seems to be working. You have got me to leave you a message. You have got me to taste and buy wine out of my ocmfort zone and from your store! i have not quite figured out if your palette and mine are similar, but it is fun working on it.

Wonderful, informative and as always, entertaining 2nd anniversary telecast! I have emailed you a number of times…always received a reesponse…awesome customer appreciation on your part! I will be emailing you with our “Wine Group” details…we have been meeting on one Thursday per month for over 25 years! Great and not so great wines and food, but always great friendship!
Sometimes we tell stories of our wine beginnings when we drank 79 cent liebfraumilch and Gallo Hearty Burgundy…the Gallo was actually excellent zin, but when the price rose to $4.99 btl, we screamed! Lots of laughs and tastes! Keep up the passionate wine presentations. Thanks!

A few years ago.. I would have never thought it would be acceptable to serve and be drinking wine while hosting (or joining)friend for some Sabres hockey.. but not only have I enjoyed sharing wine .. but also changing the minds of at least 2-3 dozen friends that there tends to be more wine than beer now (esp at Cup time).
    Thanks for the enlightenment!

With any art form, viniferous or otherwise, the value placed upon it is almost completely dependent upon and reflective of the society surrounding it. Thanks for two years of stressing that wine isn’t just about numbers, grapes, and alcohol, but is mostly about interacting with other human beings. The community WLTV has created is proof that, at least on a limited scale, this society subscribes to these ideas. What an awesome accomplishment to have created such a community.

Congratulations to all of the contest winners, and thank you to all participants for helping get the word out. Even if you didn’t win something, you helped to spread the thunder. More viewers could mean more people learning to trust their own palates and not buy into what Hollywood and the wine snobs tell them. That’s changing the wine world.

SOTD: Congrats, WLTV, on another pass around the sun, may you have many more revolutions.

You came here in 1978, I moved to Washington state in September 1978. Loved it there. I introduced my friend Don Koester to the ‘wonders & history’ of wine. And Now he is making wine in Chelan WA since 2005 at “”Four Lakes Chelan”.

It was my biggest mistake to move back from WA to PA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

congrats on going thru this show for two years, its got to be a “bear” sometimes.

I think some shows could use some vertical integration. Like several different years for the same wine/area tasting (eg CA, Napa, same wineries within 5 miles of each other same year of different vintages for same winery).

!000 comments or no show today? What is that about? Are you going to read all of them? We are watching, but we don’t always have something to say, and that’s OK. Stop focusing on the numbers. Was talking to Ian this past weekend and HE doesn’t even know what’s going on.. I hope its good! ;) Main reason I ask is because it looks like us locals will be hosting an event to welcome all the out of towners as well. I hope it doesn’t turn into a competition.

wow Gary, two years! That’s awesome! congrats!

SOTD: Two and a half years ago I was a college senior who had only tried two (jug) wines in her life and HATED them. Then, I took the wonderful Wines of the World class offered at RIT, and by the end of the course I was HOOKED. Wine was my new hobby, new passion, new pleasure. Then, a year ago I discovered WLTV and was totally inspired and pushed into wine nerdville. Now I’m a total wine geek and can’t get enough of learning about wine and winemaking. My next goal is to save up enough money to start making my own wine. My friend Jim has been doing it and I totally want to get into it myself.

Happy Anniversary, When I first found this vlog…I said “this is interesting, but how long will it last” man I don’t think anyone had an idea of really how big this would become. Dude, look at all the great Pub. You were on Conan, are you kidding me! Besides all the other appearances and articles and so on, you captured what is right now and nailed it. Bringing the thunder to a generation, well younger than me, which is incredible. I wish I had a Wine coach in my 20’s. Anyway, I know you cover many generations for the sound of most of your faithful…I seem to squeak into the cult and yes, I am a proud Vayniac since Episode 56 (the Mondavi Jr. Ep). And have been hooked. Anywho, I haven’t been able to tune in for a while, life on life’s terms. But have been “Lurking” whenever I can. GV, I wish you much more success, one day we’ll meet have a drink, one day! So, I leave you with a Cheers, À la votre, Zum Wohl, L’chaim, Salute, Kampai, Na zdravje, and Mazel tov!

Been an interesting 2 years. As omeone who’s been watching since early days, thw show has clearly evolved. It’s not the same intimate gathering it once was, but that’s OK. It’s still interesting and I’m still watching. I’ll miss the small offlines like the first San Francisco one that KenP and BrandonM organized, but will tay tuned to see what happens. Congratulations on your success GV.

    happy birthday, WLTV!
wait, it’s the 2-year birthday. does that mean we’re into the terrible twos? are you going to start insisting on doing stuff yourself, on your own? trying to push bedtime back?

garry, you are interfering with my graduate studies. my advisor is not amused, but i am :)

SOTD: i thought i knew about loving the family. then my son was born, and he showed me what it’s all about. have some kids, people – it’s a whole different ball game.

Alright everyone here comes the late push for comments.

My statement is a simple one. I never drank wine before I started watching this show, and I still only drink wine once or twice a month, but its refreshing to watch someone both enthusiastic about something they love and enthusiastic about sharing that love with everyone. Maybe by episode 500 you’ll get me up to once or twice a week =P

Happy Birthday/Anniversay to GV and WLTV!!!

SOTD- 7 years ago I started working with a wine competition during college as a summer job. I thought red wines were the worst thing a person could put in their mouth. As time went on, I fell in love with wine. I went on to do an internship in Somona, CA and then became a commercial winemaker. GV, you continue to spark my passion in wine and I Spread the Thunder daily to new wine drinkers that come into my winery. You truely are changing the wine world!!! I love my family, I love wine, I GV, I love WLTV, and most of all, I love this country…GOD BLESS AMERICA and THE MEN AND WOMEN WHO RICK THEIR LIVES TO FIGHT FOR OUR FREEDOM EVERY DAY!!!

Cheers to the years to come!!!

Congrats on 2 years! Went back to watch episode 1–boy what a difference two years makes! Thank you for your passion and dedication. I have been a Vayniac for about nine months now and have enjoyed every minute of it. I look forward to it every week day ( and even reviewing old episodes on the weekends). The forums that wine library has created are also awesome and a valuable tool to my continued wine education. Waiting for others in the metro Detroit area to make their appearance to start the wine tasting group I am looking for. Thanks again for the passion, the dedication, the honesty and most importantly, your “big heart” for all the Vayniacs! :)

    Hey Dude,

Congrats on 2 years of WLTV! There are many reasons why I watch the show, a majority of them are not related to wine. I’ve done my best to list them below.

    - Motivation: I’m starting my own business and seeing what you’ve been able to do with WLTV is motivating. You basically started off with no viewers and have been grow it to what it is today. I spend a lot of time thinking about that. I’m in a similar situation with our startup business.

    - Entertaining: It is fun watching the show. After a long day of working it’s great to be able to watch a show that takes your mind off of everything.

Education: Of course we all learn a lot about wine while watching the show but I also appreciate the history and regional information you provide regarding the different wines

Anyway, I could keep babbling but I want you to know that I truly appreciate your dedication. I also what to thank you for giving me some feedback on my project.

    Cheers!

One more comment… It’s kind of a bummer that this time around, you’re making us buy something in order to get a “free” wrist band. I do like that you kind of separate your show from the store (you’re not doing this to sell wine, right? ;-) ), yet here I have to buy a specific thing (well, one of 50 wines) in order to get one… I have no problem buying wine from you guys (done that quite a bit!), but honestly there is nothing on the list that I want. I even thought about spending $8 on the cheapest bottle just to effectively pay $8 for the wristband to keep my complete collection going. But really, that’s rather silly… so unfortunately, I won’t be wearing the spread the thunder wristband. :-( I know you probably did it this way so you didn’t get the mass flood of requests and be unable to allocate, but still… bummer!

    Hey Gary,
Long time Canadian lurker here. I’ve been watching since around episode 200, and this is my first comment. I know. But before you go off, I didn’t comment for the longest time because, well, I was new to the wine game, and honestly didn’t have much to say. Then you started calling us lurkers out, and rightfully so, and I decided to start commenting…as soon as I had something to say. Then I had a moral crisis…the comment rewards. I didn’t want to comment just because you were offering a reward, I’m not that kind of guy, so still no comments.

But now that it’s your 2nd anniversary, and there’s no incentive on the line, I can finally step out of the shadows to wish you a happy anniversary, and thank you greatly for all the fantastic expertise and enthusiasm you’ve shared with me. It has made a huge difference in how much I enjoy wine. Thanks!

  484. February 21, 2008

    Carly

Gary, I am so glad that you are a part of my life now. Even though I get busy with law school, I try to watch every day. Sorry if I don’t always comment! Internet access is not a constant for me, so I usually download when I’m at school and then watch at home.

Here’s my statement: you have made me appreciate people more. I know the show is about wine, but you have made it so much more. You stress the importance of trusting yourself, appreciating your family and friends, and really just CONSCIOUSLY enjoying the ride that is life. Thanks for being a super fun loop-the-loop in my life roller coaster.

I wish I could get a wristband…stupid PA. Hope you’ll still do a show today, even though the comments don’t look like they’re reaching 1,000…those damn lurkers.

A very Happy Birthday to WL TV. It is a show that I have been following for over a year and watch every show. Why, you make it a great event. I have learned more about wine in that past year than I could have on my own. I always purchased wine but did not understand what “it” was all about. I still don’t because wine is a life event that will hopefully continue for a long time. Meeting you at the Boston Wine Show was great, I think my wife enjoyed it more than I which is hard to imagine. You are true to what you do, that is obvious.
Your shows are always entertaining, but of enthusiasm and guidance. We can only hope that the show continues, but as you indicated, it may not be here by the time my Bordeaux 05’s are ready to drink. That’s ok; you tought us how to look at wine and for that we are thankful.
Here’s to health, happiness, and more continued success for you and your family.

Happy 2 years GV!!! Great ep, at least the last wine brought the thunder. Man, I wish the dollar was stronger!!!

Been a great journey with you thus far, GV. From tasting varietals I probably never would have touched, bottles I would have turned away from, regions I had thought could not possibly produce great juice. You have literally changed the way I look at wine, and fortunately for me, did so at the very beginning of this life long hobby. I am only 27 now, but I know when I sipping on some of the 2005 Bordeaux i bought (thanks, in large part, to you) I will recall the Thunder show and the G-Man. Big ups – Congrats, you deserve every last bit of success.

  522. February 21, 2008

Considering I am in college and people use “Thirsty Thursdays” for going out and getting completley sauced (in fact its a college tradition to plan no Friday classes to take full advantage of Thirsty Thursdays), I am going to change it to Wine Wednesdays. It would be to hard to convince my friends to have a wine tasting on Thursdays instead of going to the bar or a wild house party. So Wine Wednesdays it is! Love the show… keep up the good work! I actually moved 8 hours away from my best friend, and we watch the show at the same time and then call and discuss afterwards. We both now have problems when drinking wine saying random WLTV quotes such as “That kicked some thunder in my mouth”… people just nod and pretend they know what we are saying.

  523. February 21, 2008

    Brandon T.

To Kevin Carpenter, First of all, I’m appalled at your question. Secondly, it depends on how you prepare the poo. Is it a sweet or savory dish? Do you plan on stuffing it and pan roasting? Or perhaps deep fried, or made into a type of ‘meatloaf’? Perhaps a tartar? Also, from what animal? Very serious questions. I could see, depending on the answers, wines varying from a Chinon, old Burgundy, a Chateauneuf du Pape (perfect for spiced poo sausage), to even a good Alsatian riesling. If you have a specific recipe in mind, I could narrow it down!

  524. February 21, 2008

SOTD: Gary is a wine beast, and we’ve all got our Pals backing us up.

2 years!! I only discovered your show about one year ago, but it has really changed how I look at wine. I used to be a wine rutter (meaning stuck in a rut). I would choose from the same rotation of about 10 different wines. Mostly mass produced cabernet’s, pinot noirs and chardonnays. Now I am buying something new almost every time I go wine shopping. I may not love them all, but each one is teaching me something new about my “pal” and that is exciting.

    Keep it going.

I love the show. Keep up the great work. Through this, I’ve really felt enabled to try different wines (I tried my first Beaujolais a little while ago. Really good!).

SOTD: The more people feel empowered to trust their own tastes and opinions, and the less they feel pressured into believing myths about wine, the better. Trust yourself, trust your pal.

    Huge Congratulations!

It’s amazing and inspiring the difference Wine Library has made. I’m thrilled to see people trusting their palates. It makes life in wine country so much more interesting, and doing tastings has become much more enjoyable.

So wish you had been here to taste the 2002 Pepper Bridge Cabernet Sauvignon from Walla Walla on your birthday. I’d love to hear what you would say.

Seriously, everyone I know hates wine. If I offered my friends a 20 doller wine I think I would get an empty liquor bottle thrown at me.

Thanks for giving me an entry level way to experience wines, as well as motivation to try something new every time I buy.

Happy Birthday WLTV!!! Great wines will always will out.
Can’t start another wine group as already have two established ones though we are always looking for more folks in Virginia Beach or Tidewater VA who want to taste wines. Two of the group have 3000+ cellars so we get the good stuff. Continuing to try more and more Southern France wines. If only the dollar would climb back up so they would be a bit more affordable. More Portugal may be difficult unless I buy it all from Wine Library as we get zero non-Port Portuguese wines here.

  620. February 21, 2008

Gary, congrats! Didn’t have a chance to watch the show yesterday, but trying to catch up. I think the idea of a wine-tasting group is fabulous … -but- Most of the people I know aren’t serious enough — not in the wine snob sense, just that they don’t even bother to give their wine a sniffy sniff (I’ve tried explaining, but it’s pretty well a lost cause.), much less any sort of analysis. I’m seeing a friend tomorrow who loves wine, so maybe we’ll be able to figure something out.

    Looking forward to (at least!) another two years :~}

SOTD: I really enjoy the concept of the show, and the variety of wines that I get exposed too by the show. I have been going to wine dinners and tastings when I can for a number of years now, and it has really helped me enjoy wine.

Happy anniversary! Will be looking out for 3rd 3rsday in Austin…

    Happy B-day!

Came back today and finished watching the episode. Have been with you since the old store and episode 1. As a big fan of humans I am sure you will understand this statement “I am a better person from knowing you and listening to you”! Keep exploring new things…it is a great condiment to life.

    Regards,

    Jessica

    GARY,

I joined up in January, and I love watching your show. Happy anniversary!

By the way, part of what drives me to watch the show is that you are a genuine person – rare to find on tv, or anywhere for that matter – who obviously loves humans and obviously is passionate about wine. I can’t understand why anyone would hate you (unless you dissed their wine, but oh well, right?), but I can tell you this: anyone who goes out of their way to spread the HATE has issues that have NOTHING to do with you!

I’m happy to support your business AND your show because I think you’re doing a great service to people by educating others about wine who might otherwise be intimidated by the nose-in-the-air-snobby-wino crew. It’s about time wine came down to earth so that everyone can experience it’s extraordinariness, and do it with trust in their own PAL. Keep up the awesome work, and don’t let anyone get you down. Cheers to you (with the big ass glass).

Hey boy don’t be sad bacause of the none accomplish goal you set. In fact, many of your fans don’t watch all the episodes the same day, like myself. Sorry for not being part of it, but I’m just catching up today. Like yourself I’m also an emigrant, and like a good one, I’m very thankfull for what this country has given me. My family came here first to have freedom, second to achieve a better economic position and for that we all have to work hard. That is why sometimes I can not watch every episode the same day. So I ask you to forgive us and give us sometime to accomplish. In the mean time, thanks for the effort, heart and soul your putting into this wine education program. You have committed to something that not many people can do. We are now celebrating the 2nd year of succesfully changing the wine world. Among many other things I’d like to say…. thank you for what you’ve done for me… don’t get emotional or sentimental…. and keep up buddy.. you really make the difference ….thanks again….I’m looking forward to meet you in Tampa.

(Actually, I’ve been watching regularly since episode #140 and I rarely leave a comment — bad lurker — but I promise to get better). Thanks for doing #413. I let you down, but you didn’t let us down, and that means a lot!!!

Gary, got hooked to your show three days ago when Scoble linked you up, and been watching back episodes since. You bring the thunder man, and I’ve gotta tell you, for the last few days I’ve been “Tasting” everything, the coffee I drink, coke zero (way creamier than diet coke), kielbasa and dark chocolate, and now a bottle of wine that I’ve gotten more enjoyment out of than any other bottle of wine I’ve ever tasted. And it’s because I’m paying attention, I’m playing, and I’m trusting my pal.

My statement: Gary, you’ve made me enjoy more flavours in the last three days than I can remember in the last year. Thank you.

Anyway, don’t be down! Everyone who watches this show loves ya and all the effort you put into it (seriously, I wouldn’t knock you for only doing it once a week if that would make you life easier.) You’ve definitely changed atleast my wine world!! I can’t thank you enough for the education, fun and community that you’ve have provided. Happy 2nd Anniversary!!

Man, so I sit down w/ a glass of my buddies ‘05 Roussanne (White Heron, WA) and settle into episode 413, only to be let down by a lack of enthusiasm. Where is Gvay’s FIRE?! And then, something about not hitting 1000 comments? C’mon, man. Even though us lurkers don’t comment does not mean we don’t love you and what you do. Your show, THE FIRE, the THUNDER, has literally propelled myself and a couple buddies into what wine is and CAN BE (more importantly). I’ve never written Seinfeld a comment or email or written him a letter but this does not mean that he’s not my favorite face on the ole tele. NO! On the contrary, he still sets the bar. As with you, Gvay, you’ve set the bar for us.

So, here I am, self proclaimed lurker, COMMENTING, which I do not do, you know, because I’m a LURKER (and a comma whore), because YOU with a little bit of ME, we are changing the wine world… man, you don’t even know how much.

    Chin up, lil camper.

Qotd Statement – Your palate and philosophy, our passion for wine. If you had no talent for exploring the wine tasting experience, we would have drifted off, but every day you deliver. I don’t want to miss an episode. However, you are going to burn out so you need to change. Just realize that this thing you started will be difficult to just stop.

By the way as you know a corked wine is so from a bacteria called TCA and that is not from corks necessarily. It can happen from other sources and a screw cap bottle is not immune from TCA that lives in a dirty barrel, filling equipment etc. That said, I am totally comfortable that you know the difference between a corked wine and other flaws.

  751. February 22, 2008

SOTD: WLTV is THE reason that I have continued to explore wine, has given me the opportunity to have a hand in actually making wine (Vayniac Cab), meet fellow Vayniacs from all over the country, and actually meet the Big G. himself… twice. Once was planned and took 12 hours of driving in one day to make it happen and the second occasion just took me going into work as usual on a random Tuesday night in LA. Ridiculous. WLTV has given me the opportunity to learn about wine and meet so many people, and has given me the privilege to call Mr. V. a personal friend. Thanks again, Gary, and thank you to EVERYONE (even lurkers who chose foolishly not to comment on this episode) who has been a part of this community.

HAPPY 2 YEAR ANNIVERSARY, my good man!

CONGRATS GV and the whole crew at the Winelib!!!! I watch WLTV on my ipod and was chomping at the bit to get in this morning (even with this wicked weather!) and check out the goodies online!!! Now I’m glad I did. I always enjoy watching the episodes and yesterday was no exception. Will def be there 3/29…actually, even sooner – I think I’ll make a “trial run” trip so I don’t get lost on the 29th ;-0. As a new member of the Vayner Nation I can see that you truly enjoy what you do and I realize it takes a ot of effort and commitment – and yet you guys (yes, I mean MOTT too!) make it so enjoyable to learn about wine and trusting our palate.

I’m off to Winelib online…so many things to choose from!

Happy B-day, WLTV & GV! Celebrated by placing my first ever WL order today. Looking forward to picking it up and seeing the store in person. Please keep the WLTV episodes coming! (at least a couple a week.) The change in the wine world you speak of may have begun, but there’s a way to go…

Oh, and T-cubed won’t work for me (have other family obligations on Thursdays), but we’re starting a once-a-month wine and food gathering with 6 or 8 friends. For March ‘08: 3 wines from Oregon, and lessons on how to pronounce the state’s name.

Happy birthday, I saw this episode late. It was sad seeing your next episode. If possible, my good friend of the family has just adopted a little girl from Russia and lives 4 miles from wine library and a shout out would be awesome. The little girl’s name is Dinara and the mom is named Mary. She is 2 on June 16th. Thanks for the show I find myself waiting for it each nite. It has made me try stuff that I would never do.

    Happy B-day, WLTV!

Gary, don’t get disappointed with the lack of comments. Unfortunately we are not all as awesome as you!

Re the TTT thing you are pushing, it’s a good idea, though a little bit restrictive. You should let people do it whenever and as often as they want. I for one get together with bunch of people every Saturday so I’m covered there. But I guess it could help other people get into the routine of “brown bagging”.

Congratulations! Living in Ontario and having a centrally controlled liquor board makes finding some of these gems a tad difficult.

Keep ‘em coming, but as a wise man once said “Everything in Moderation”. I would much rather see you doing this show for 10 years once a week then a ‘3 and out’ scenario where you burn out….Now that I think about it….The headlines would be cool:

“Host of Popular wine show goes beserk, believes he can not only change the wine world, but also knows how to turn the Jets into a winning team”

, this resulted in the distinct class of online publishing that produces blogs we recognize today. For instance, the use of some sort of browser-based software is now a typical aspect of “blogging”. Blogs can be hosted by dedicated blog hosting services, or they can be run using blog software, such as WordPress, Movable Type, Blogger or LiveJournal, or on regular web hosting services.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY/BIRTHDAY Gary and all the WL staff, and Vayniacs out there. What a ride this has been. Gary and WLTV have truly become part of my daily routine. I have been buried with work lately and don’t get to watch as often as I once did (daily) and it feels like something’s missing when I don’t see the show. I tell anyone who will listen or read my emails about the show and WL. All the people who have gone into the show universally speak about the warmth of the WL staff–not to mention the great prices.

Using the “tell your story in six words” guide. My SOTD (statement of the day) is:

Love family, cherish friends, trust yourself.

Big ups to Gary, Mott and the crew, and I can’t wait for year three of W L T V!

    :D

The lurkers come out at night…The lurkers come out at niiiiiiiight.

Good show, GV, just late watching it…

Moment of honesty, not meant to tick anyone off…
“If I do not get to 1000 comments, then no show?” Damn, like that kid on the playground, “You better do what I say, or I am not going to be your friend anymore Billy.”

    Sing it with me…
“No body likes me, every body hates me, I’m gonna eat some……” (have you? or just dirt?) I double dog dare you!!!

Back to reality. In all seriousness, amazing job with the show. I have not been here for the 2 years, but the time I have been here has been amazing. Keep it up, please.

No show tomorrow? Wait, what is this, iTunes has a new download? Episode 413?
Now how do I delete this post? [DELETE]

2 whole years, blimey, congratulations. I’ve been here for less than one of those (I know, feels longer!).

I like the look of those new wristbands, wonder how I’m gonna get me one of those without being able to order wine?

TTWTG – can’t promise what I can’t keep – maybe if they stop sending me around the world I’ll revisit the idea.

SOTD – Respect wine, respect winemakers, respect wine reviewers, but most of all respect your palate.
