We know you like cheese, but “You prefer cheese to wine?” :?
QOTD1 – No, I’d love to but it’s a bit too far for me to make it, busy time of year you know.
QOTD2 – I’m not a big PG taster, but I’ve had a couple of Alsace ones I really liked, don’t have the details to hand right now (since I’m in a hotel in the Gulf!).

QOTD: As of now I plan on being there on the 29th.

I know exactly what you mean regarding fantasy baseball!

QOTD: 1. Sorry I can’t be there Friday.
    2. I like the Chehalem Pinot Gris, but my current favorite is the original American pinot gris: Eyrie. The current vintage of it is very similar to how you described the Fantinel. It is way darker colored than the Chehalem, and fuller bodied. I last had it with a light, but rich and full flavored, crawfish dish, and it was a stunning match.

Now here I thought I was the only one who compared white wine colors with pee. I’m not special anymore.

QOTD1: I will not be at WL until near the end of the party but am on the list for dinner.

QOTD2: Have not found one that I think is worth the money, so there are none in my cellar. I buy them on occasion when friends are coming over and usually get advice from one of the WL folks on what’s good at that time.

Hello Everyone, My name is Robert and I am a Lurker. I have been a Lurker now for about 4 months.

The Lionel Kiddie City was the question that made me decide to leave a comment. As a kid growing up in Cleveland, I remember the theme song and the commercials of the kangeroo jumping on the frown and turning it into a smile.

QOTD 1, I won’t be there, since I live in Beijing now.
QOTD 2, I am not a huge PG fan, but on a recent trip to Napa, I tasted the swanson PG and liked it.

PS. Having trouble registering, is this because I am from China and an issue with IP address? Some sites like wikipedia and typepad have issues when people come from China.

QOTD1: I wish I could come :( Can’t fly to NJ too easily. I’m in CA.
QOTD2: 2006 Roxy Ann Pinot Gris Reserve (a Southern Oregon winery). Super yuuum.

Or-eh-gun. That’s how they say it. Obviously someone wrote in, right? Accent snobs!

QOTD#1 – I’ll be there on the 29th and will be dragging at least 1 (hopefully 3) other(s) with me. Looking forward to it.

QOTD#2 – I really need to try some PG because I haven’t had much and haven’t had any recently.

Great taste off! It’s been a while since you’ve done one like this. It’s a lot of fun. I can see myself liking the Pinot Grigio more.

QOTD #1: Yes! Coming down from New Hampshire.

QOTD #2: Not a fan of PG in general. It’s chick wine.

Hopefully I can make it on the 29th, depends on how they’re feeling here in guantanamo.

    Another solid smackdown show.

QOTD#1: not planning on it right now, but you never know!!
QOTD#2: a favorite doesn’t really stick out, if I had a choice I would take the Pinot Grigio! And if they are the same grape why screw with the names!!!!

    Nice and short today…like that!!

    Keep it up GV!

QotD #1: Yes my wife and I are absolutely coming.

QotD #2: My experience with PGs are limited, so I don’t really have a favorite.

I want some of what you had before the show……………. Because you certainly were on the top of your game!

From now on though; I will add the listen-listen to sniffy-sniff when trying wine. Because the wine is probably telling us something we have all missed, up to now.

Thanks for this new awakening Gary!

By the way, I love the format of the battling wines. Keep it up.

    Quality show!

    Good analogies – great energy!

I agree with some of the other people leaving comments – it could be very interesting to see a “Cheese-show”. Not meaning to turn the show into a food-show, but just a way to widen the spectrum a little.
E.g.: perhaps choose a wine you know to be great with cheese, and then compare it to a wide range of cheeses. Cheeses of different variety, origin and based on different milks – cow, goat, sheep, elephant :-)

Got the same problem…Japan is too far.

Haven’t had many Pinot Gris or Pinot Grigios so I’ll have to get out there and try a few.

Gary you are freakin hilarious with that cheese. You should do a cheese show just so we can hear your stinky analogies…stuff like toejam mixed in with B.O. and you lovin it. Ewww…

Wish I could make it to the party, but I live in Hawaii, and hard to leave the rock more than once a year.
