Went out and found 05 Bordeaux at the local store and could not find much, but I intend to have one of them tomorrow. Either the Chateau Tour de Gillet or the Chateau Fage Graves de Vayres.

Gary, I ALWAYS try to catch the WLTV Rhone EPs, and this one was stoked off the Richter with thunder, which was great. This was a fantastic lineup chosen by viewer. Totally agree with your review on the Caboche CDP (typically seems to have a beautiful blend of dark plum and violets) and the Chante-Perdrix is always one of my favorites for the complexity of bouquet and depth of fresh fruit + pepper and earth at a great price point. Ever since the 2001 vintage, the Steading has been one of my all time favorite Aus->Rhone emulators, but the last couple years seem to have been more forward fruit-bombish (e.g., less tea, earth, and pepper mixed in with the huge bouquet of rasberries and strawberries) which now makes me question for QPR whether or not there are not better choices. Interestingly I was just looking at the Steading in WL yesterday. A long time Vayniac, I appreciate your comment about Tony. Best wishes to you and your family this Holiday weekend Gary, Vinacull Vayniac

Wow…I catch the show 2 days late and both of the CdP’s you were hyped up about are sold out…good for you, bad for me, but I do have the secret packs to look forward to!

Oh, yeah GV. Also, that 2003 Muga Rioja I’ve opened before and picked up a bit of pickle juice on the nose. I know how much you dig that business.

Wow! Freakin’ awesome show! I’ve been really busy with school and work the last couple of months and this is just the show to drag me back into ThunderDome. I just hope my wife and my studying don’t turn into Vayniac Widows, because I have a couple of months worth of shows to catch up on.

QOTD: Wines that I know I’ll be opening this weekend.
    1)2003 Chateau Mongravey
    2)2003 Muga Rioja
    3)2004 Jacopo Biondi Santi Sassoalloro
Celebrating my birthday and making room in my little tiny wine fridge for the ‘05 Bordeaux I just bought from ya. I dare you to get a hold of any of these wines and drink them with me!

    Gary:
Loved the show, but what did you think of the Chateau de Beaucastel compared to these guys? A bit better, maybe, but a lot price-er, right?
I ordered the secret two pack to try on 4/1. Bet you have something “fool”ish in mind for us!
This weekend, I’ll try Chateau St. Jean Cinq Cepages 2004 Cab. Sauv.
    Have a great weekend.

Wow! Loved the energy of this show. Definitely have to try a Ch. du Pape soon.

QOTD: Already started on a 2006 Chardonnay from the Loire Valley (Domaine de Bernier). Somewhat acidic but went great with a creamy cheese. At $11 it was cheaper than the cheese! A great value in my opinion.

Price 19.99, White Burgundy from Bourgogne appellation. I was told this will be a Meursault classified wine in the future, I guess the vines are not old enough yet? Anyways, the LWS said its great value because of that and should be great for Easter.

oh, you mean the wine’s I’m drinking… wine is more of a mid week thing for me. A bottle can provide a glass or even half glass after class each day and not be to much, so I can get things done. Anyway, good show, you rocked it. Now back to my Vay-Ner-Widow.

awesome show, I was a bit worried with the late post, but the nearly 30 minutes of pure energy more than made up for it!

QOTD: this weekend my mom is making salmon because my girlfriend and i don’t eat red meat (love you mom) so I was thinking a nice Pinot Noir. Possibly C&T Patio Pinot Noir, or Jamesport Pinot Noir from Long Island.
