For anyone who hasn’t seen it, Robert Scoble captured a great discussion between Gary, Kevin Rose, Tim Ferriss & the owner of DeLoach Winery… of which Gary seemed to steal the show, but it was a great “inside baseball” business discussion.

Gary, Just wish to let you know that I received 5% off and a May 13th delivery from Amazon for pre-ordering your book 101 Wines: Guaranteed to Inspire, Delight and Bring Thunder to Your World…..thought that the Vaniacs might like this price off opportunity. Best, Naples Kathy

GV – Here’s my review for the 2003 L’Oligocene – we just had another bottle tonite. Will probably get some 2004 for & do a blind tasting with friends for fun:
    2003 L’Oligocene . Just had another bottle this evening (Mar 23, 2008)
2 hrs decanted in the cellar – very old world, barnyard, mushrooms & a bit of hard boiled eggs on nose, earthy, smooth, a bit of sweetness, strawberries, red fruits & bacon mid-palete, a long finish but not a profoundly long finish, smooth tannins, lacks a focus point to take it that next level – something that captivates & fascinates that separates it from other wines (what I think of in a 95 pt or higher wine) very good, but not quite a 95 in my book, more like a 93 -still an exceptional value. (Looking fwd to trying the 2004)

Thanks for the show today Gary. I really feel it. It’s been a privilege to see you decant over the years (!) in front of the camera here on WLTV, particularly in the last few months. It does seem that we are getting a taste of some of that Santa Garyvee terrior since you came back, especially. More power to you.

well..this weekend, despite the fact that its halfway over i shall post anyway…i had a great day today, i might actualy land my first professional acting job, i rehersed on my current production Assassins, i went to a call-back audition, proceeded to nail that, and then went to work at The Container Store. Tonight, watched some Gary, gonna have some good wine, and think about a trip to mexico.
Then tommorow, gonna have a nice sleep-in with the hubby, cuddle up in front of the computer and watch a movie (its supposed to get cold and rainy tommorow) then head to church for easter service then over to the in-laws (PattyO,shes my mom-in-law) and have, im sure some more fantastic wine.
    ahhhhhh, sounds lovely
ps-My husband just met you when you came down to Austin, i was out of town though and i was so sad not to meet you. He said he had such an incredible time, and that you were such a genuine, down-to-earth, generous guy. Thanks for showing him such a good time, and you BETTER come again next year, and i promise i wont leave :)

GV…Question back to you (QBTY) When a wine brings the thunder to you in the prior year….What are your expectations? Are you looking for more or the same?

    Love your show as always…

    Hey GV.
I’ve been a Lurker for some time now so being Easter I felt it was time I came out of the woodwork and crossed the WL.TV border of lurkertown.

Love the show, and I’m trying to do my part in bringing the Thunder ‘Down Under’.

If you didn’t get that reference I’m in Sydney, Australia =D

    Later GV.

Sorry you lost a friend. Maybe it’ll all blow over. Sometimes it does.
QOTD: We had our Good Friday Pizza Party and finished off the magnum of Edna Valley Syrah, plus a Vielle Ferme, plus a QVC Zinfandel which I disliked a lot. The nose really put me off. Kind of like catsup with maple syrup and petroleum jelly. Sunday, we’re going to my mother’s retirement home where they have a really good chef – used to work at one of the very nice restaurants here that went defunct because of a personal problem on the part of the owner. Ho, ho, ho.
