Edmeades is pronounced Ed-Meads (as in Ed-Reads). The last e is silent.

It’s a KJ artisan estate brand. They do make quacktastic zins, like Hartford makes tasty Pinot.

The word on the street is that Edmeades used to have a tasting room in Alexander Valley, but they couldn’t keep it staffed with people whose oral hygiene was up to par with the brand’s desired image. Edmeades makes other zins that are better, just like Hartford makes several Pinots. But, Edmeades prices are much much more affordable.

    Cheers!

    Couldn’t leave a reply to yesterday’s episode.

(*cough* the link is wrong to the second Chard… I thought a white Valpol might be kind-of cool though)

QOTD: I am passionate about coffee (Barista and Drip Coffee), food (anything but ketchup), hockey (’90s Redwings-’07/’08 Wild), baseball (Twins ‘87&’91 2000+), and meeting new passionate people (Shout-out to my Third-Thirsty-Thursday crew from Minnesota).

Great show GV. New to the whole WLTV thing and instantly addicted.

QOTD…. Food, the next best way to train the palate! Cuisines are just as varied and regional as wines are.

Went to a Rustenberg tasting a while back. They are serious winemakers. A nice blend of old world passion and new world technology. A South African vineyard that thinks Pinotage is a joke. Interesting. They do tend towards the oak monster but they get top shelf QPR rankings in my book.

QOTD: Music, music and more music, I am a local singer, musician, songwriter in Miami, FL. My main genre is Latin, and if you really want to narrow it down: Salsa, but I do a little bit of everything. I have a regular gig on Saturdays at David Place, in Miami. I recently started a podcast called Tropical Music with Robertico.

QOTD: Local Amateur Theatre is my passion. We’re in the middle of a production right now. We take time for a wine “wind down” at least once a week after rehearsals. Brings the cast closer together. We’re housed in a 1903 lovingly restored Opera House (1000’s of volunteer hours). Check our my website to see the beauty of this building. This, in a town (I kid you not) of 1500 people. Next largest town (5000) is 25 miles away!

Passionate about the children I take care of as a doc. good show, Finally got to wines you actually liked. You confuse me at times with your dislike of ratings but always compare your ratings to Parker, WS, Jay Miller, etc. If your palate matches with theirs then the ratings mean something. If not they don’t. Problem is, every grocery store, wine store, even menus list ratings as if that is the reason you should buy a wine. Even the flavor profile posted is fairly meaningless. I have read blurbs on the bottles that say, tastes of peaches and walnuts but can’t find any evidence of any of these when actually tasting. Since it is spring now, GV give us more Grenaches and start bringing out the Rose’s. Now is the time I start buying these for late spring and summer consumption.
