good show! the mottster really contributing! QOTD- my liquor store

if you like aromatic whites gary you must seek out spanish whites such as Airen and macabeo/viura. these have some of the most floral noses ever. Think florist shop with some banana peel. the mouth feel is great with citrus fruits banana and plenty of flowers and hay with lengthy finish of great acidity and more flowers. Some good ones are Carril de Cotos airen, Finca Vieja Blanco (airen), amigo sancho macabeo, and Leza Garcia Viura..aged 100 days in oak but the oak monster is friendly. all great wines ranging from 8 to 12 dollars. they bring serious thunder for little money and are darling with seafood and lighter cheeses like gouda. mmmm i am gonna go have some later

Loved the show, I have the 2 reds to look forward to tonight, watching at work.

I wasn’t able to taste along today but I plan on getting the next secret pack. Looks like a lot of fun.

QOTD: I just read through most of the other comments and I’m loving reading about all the people that hang out at home with their family. In a day when a lot of people are having problems in their family its nice to see so many people who love hanging out at home. It’s very encouraging. OK, time to figure out what I’m going to make my family for dinner.

Love the Domaine Bertrand-berge Ancestral. Sorry, I can not get myself to buy the smiley face wine. The package is part of the value proposition. I acn leive with screw caps but not the smiley face thing. These people lost a lot of sales by going stupid on the label.

Great Tasting today, I bought the 2 pack. Psyched about the two wines from Roussillion, I have to admit, not something I would have purchased. Love the Wet Dog/Cassis/Mocha nose on the Le Muscle. I know, with the packaging I would never have bought this wine, but I am so glad to try it. Hope I can get these for my restaurant – thanks for the inspiration.

That was a fun show- I didn’t think you could be silent for that long! ;)
We are looking forward to having the Cantelys Blanc. I was going to wait for the weekend, but I just changed my mind. I put salmon in the twice-baked potatoes tonight, so…
QOTD: Outside, with the wildlife and domesticated creatures here at home, where we love to be

Interesting as always to see where we agree and disagree (I hope lots of others post their notes as well):

    From Cellar Tracker:
Le Muscle: Red current over blackberry nose. Blackberries over Rainier cherries up front, moderately powerful tannins, candied red currents over anise over the moderately long and slightly gamey finish. 91

Fitou: Bright cherry over light veggie nose; red raspberry over plums upfront, moderate tannins, nice raspberry finish of moderate length. Slightly light mouthfeel. 89

Despite rating the Le Muscle higher, I’d more likely rebuy the Fitou, just because I feel it would compliment food better, and that’s why I drink most table wines

I had the Ancestrale at a tasting recently and thought about the same you did. I brought a bottle home and decanted it for six hours and that really smoothed out the rough edges and the finish. It also brightened the fruit and made it more pure. I was absolutely stunned at how well it opened up the rest of the night. Seriously, give it ALOT of air and you’ll be impressed. I beleive parker gave that one an 89 as well.
