    Good show GV.
Sad thing is that I live in the Boston metro area (not a Pats fan) and I am having trouble finding Languedoc/Rouillson wines. I am a big fan!

Where do I hang? Boring as it may seem to some, there is no place like home!

We popped the Le Muscle about 30 minutes prior to tasting and watching the show. It was pretty tight and a bit awkward on the mid-palate and finish. Just had another glass two days later and it is absolutely amazing how much more balanced and enjoyable it is. The most outstanding example of this that I have ever experienced.
Off to taste the second bottle….

I really enjoyed the Domaine Bertrand-berge Ancestral. Very interesting, great black fruit, nice long finish. Thanks for turing up this gem GV!

QOTD: I hang out at home, mostly. I live in TN, so there aren’t many “wine savvy” places around. Absolutely no wine bars where I live.

LE MUSCLE IS THE BOMB!!! I tried to explain this to my girlfriend. She begged to differ. Afterwards she finished a bottle of stuff that’s been open for 4 days that I thought tasted like a swimming pool….. actually, the YMCA swimming pool. whatever.

I used to hang out at a bar called the Hi-Lo in OKC. BEST DIVE EVER! Since i moved to san francisco and haven’t been able to get a job doing ANYTHING…. i’ve been doing a lot of hanging out at home.

Sorry I didn’t get the Secret Pack because I think I would have enjoyed all three wines. Very interesting selections.

QOTD: I am hanging out these days at Mr. Pickwick’s Pub in Geneva, Switzerland. Come join me – it’s almost Happy Hour over here in Europe! :-)

Just had a couple of pours of Cantelys. I couldn’t swallow because I’m studying but I wanted to open it now and taste it over the next few days. Some fungus on top of the cork initially concerned me but the rest of the cork and the wine is fine. Initial nose was very much old lemons as you said. A bowl of unpeeled old lemons. Now (after leaving it in the glass for about 10 minutes) I smell a lot more honey and oak. Very smooth – definitely surprised my palette that is more used to more mineral veggie crispness – almost too smooth that I initially felt like I was drinking sancerre that’s been left open for too long and has lost a little pizazz. Okay, now definately the nose is changing again. It’s not really wood… I can’t pinpoint it but it definitely smells familiar… a little like walking into an asian herbal medicine store.. some sort of Korean herbal medicine that I probably refused to drink when I was young. haha and now I pay to smell it! Okay back to the taste – some chalkiness and wood on the mid-palette and a great long finish. I like the finish – chalky and even a little creamy. I poured out 1/2 of the bottle into a decanter and left the rest in the bottle uncorked. First time trying white bordeaux and nose alone was worth it!

QOTD: I’m taking a mini weekend road trip to the jersey coast in two weeks :D

man, what a treat to try a white bordeaux. never imagined a white could taste like that. really liked it! how do you tell that it is sauvignon blanc? i’m having trouble with the labels on french wines, but trying a bunch of them so hopefully i’ll catch on eventually. that’s my question of the day. as for your question i’d say that sadly i hang out too much in front of the tube. guess that’s why they say there’s no place like home.

I hang out at home alot…yikes! I cook for my family and friends all the time and host dinners. Other than that, I hang out in NYC. Last place I was at was Hudson Bar…great music to dance to!

Enjoyed tasting the 2-pack along with you, Gary! I opened the bottles about 2 hours before doing the tasting. I got a little more out of the tasting with your commentary running. My palate still has some training to go through to get some of the flavors and aromas the first time around.

QOTD: I end up hanging out in my kitchen more than I ever expected to. Getting into cooking after work and enjoying it for its relaxing qualities (and ordering out when the stress is too high or the stock of vino is too low :-) )

Well, didn’t get my secret pack until today, so I’m holdling off until I get a few friends together. I can’t wait to try after seeing the episode though…

QOTD : With our 4 month old, hanging out has been primarily at home on the couch… still fun with vino…

Oh man, I haven’t popped these bottles yet, but I just couldn’t help but watch now to see what I have to look forward to. Lots. There is lots to look forward to. Can’t wait.

QOTD: Lately, since I got the part time job @ Bowery and Vine wine store in NY, its been straight to the sales floor for me.

Great episode Gary! As a suggestion, you know that there are TONS of us who live in states that can not purchase your secret packs. Is there any chance you could tell us in advance what you are going to taste, which would allow all of us who have yet to “free the grapes” to taste along with you too!

QOTD: There’s really nothing better than watching a great sporting event (like a Pens game!) surrounded by friends and family in your own home.

This is my first tasting with you (and my first comment), and I tried these wines just opened and decanted over the course of 24 hours. The tomato and fleshy plum flavor in the Fitou really starts to show up after the most intriguing flavors had long blown off. The just opened nose is both right up your alley and totally unique. It reeks of manure and more importantly cardamom, which is the first time I’ve ever gotten that out of a wine.

Great show. My first time tasting with you and now I cant wait till the next package is released. I actually had a friend join me and we both enjoyed it.

QOTD: Our favorite hang out is at a restuarant in Clovis CA. Michael Angelos, the owner their loves it when we come in with a different bottle of wine every week and have our own wine tasting along with him.

We love to hang out with family, but we especially love to hang out in the Carribean. Just got our vacation to Mexico planned today and can’t wait to go this summer. I see the resort has an extensive wine list, but I’m ready for some Mojitos! Great episode, wish I could get those shipped here to Montana.
