Last Chenin Blanc was a Vouvray, but it wasn’t much to speak of. I really need to renew my friendship with this grape, thanks for the great show!

CB rocks and a lot of people will be thanking you for noticing. South Africa in particular is kicking out some killer Chenins. If anyone out there happens upon Vinum Chenin Blanc from the Winery of Good Hope in South Africa grab a bottle – superb value and one of our favorites from one of our favorite outfits! Cheers!

I love Chenin Blanc ever since I had this Loire wine: Francois Chidaine Montlouis Clos Habert 2005. It rocked with Japanese-French fussion food.

2007 Goosecross Cellers Chenin Blanc (Napy Valley).

My girlfriend and I were there for a tasting and she fell in love with it. Now anytime she sees the words Chenin Blanc on a bottle she gets all excited and wants to buy it.

Always love your show and I look forward to the book. Mostly a red wine lover here and I have to try chenin blanc again for serious consideration. Definitely will try all 3 bottles if I can find in Vermont. Looking forward to the testing!

I’m not sure if this really counts , but it was the Westerland Celebration. It is 50% Chenin Blanc and 50% Sauvignon Blanc.. A nice wine. Crisp with nice acidity, however I had this probably a few years back.. I dig the Wines that westerland produces though. They make a nice Pinotage.. Oh yeah.. They are South African wines..

Congrats on the book. I’ll be picking up a few copies soon.

Mott, Drink it up! QOTD: Vouvray last year. Used to drink a ton of CB in the 70’s when I was poor and it was plentiful and cheap. Thanks for reminding me.

GV – I drink several different Chenin’s from Savenniere. I have a few left in my cellar, but I want them to age a bit more.

    Like the CB.

    Gary,

I also love the versatility of the Chenin. Great show. Maybe next time you could do three or four Chenins from the Loire to show how different they can be from that one area.

QOTD: Goats Do Roam Chenin Blanc from South Africa…certainly a good value as pretty much all chenin blanc is. I’ve got some 2005 Nic Joly chenin from Sauvenieres (sp?) cellaring that I can’t wait to pop. Can I continue to watch???

Have enjoyed Chenin Blanc and Thai food for some time. Works as an althernative to Riesling with the spices. Great job on the show, you are still bringing the thunder.

responding to terryp1’s comment on youtube.com: terryp1 lol that was gary..wtf….that’s weird..
honestly, i would rather have a more traditional style host… your obviously out of place watching wine l.tv. why don’t you go back to your little hole and watch jancis robinson instead. Gary ends every show with his famous quote “we are changing the wine world” for the snobby “traditional” people like you. you don’t belong here. please move on!!!!
Gary I loved seeing you at the draft, looked like allot of fun. this is the reason you are successful….your passionate about everything you do!!! keep it up!!! I’m sure that I’m speaking for allot of people on this! thanks for being yourself.
