Vosne Romanee !! Vosne Romanee !!!!!!!!!!!!!

    You Ahole Gary…..
I asked 60 zillion times to do a show on Rosso Di Montalcino a poor mans “Brunello”; did you ever do the show? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Get over your rug; and leave Mott alone!
Your doing a wine show…….you know liquid red stuff!! Shit happens!!

great to hear the questions and see the couch again!

Plus, I love JUSTIN…I mean the name and some of their wines.

QOTD: friday I watched some TV with my wife and had a great time with a little wine and ramen! HA! How’s that for a unique paring. Unfortunately, it was a terrible match: super salty instant ramen with a crappy red from down unders.

QOTD: headed out to a local brewery that has a half dozen styles of beer on tap and is nestled in Appalachian foothills, a good 20 miles from the nearest city. An excellent place to hang for hours and relax. (Blue Mountain Brewery. I highly recommend the 750cc bottle of Belgian style ale called Mandolin)

QOTD: Tonight? Working…then going out with some friends to 3rd Stop; a great late-night spot for a bite to eat and about 20 beers on tap (a change of pace for myself and my co-workers after serving vino all night at our wine bar).

    Cheers

oh yeah…and when you do your central coast tasting I’d love it if you could squeeze some Saxum in there! This wine is too expensive for me and it’s hard to get so I’ll just have to live vicariously through you…thanks!

Yessss…I’m so excited you did the Justin Isosceles. I really like many of Justin wines and I feel like they do a good job representing Paso Robles in wine shops across the country! I dig fruit bombs so I love these.

And speaking of Central Coast rhones I love Cliff Cate’s F’book request. And check out the reviews of L’Aventure and Tablas Creek on my blog about tasting rooms in Paso: http://www.pasodirt.blogspot.com. If you can get your hands on any of the L’Aventure estate wines it would be awesome to hear your thoughts.

QOTD. I saw this on Saturday…and tonight I went to an awesome wine/cheese event.

QOTD: It’s Saturday, because my computer is doing something wierd and showing a tripod and camera instead of the usual winelibrary page and I just figured out how to make it run, so, on Friday evening I vacuumed and washed dishes and did laundry and washed floors and called my credit card company to cancel the card I lost while I was in New York. Today, my husband and I went to an afternoon French wine tasting at a restaurant – very fun – and this evening we watched The Savages.

    Wine Not?

I am loving all of the comments on how to clean the stain! But seriously, what would a wine store office be without a little wine “oops” somewhere…you know?

QOTD: Went to book club and shared a bottle of Rioja that I bought in Spain a couple of weeks ago. Was really good! Wish I had bought more, but my suitcase was full to bursting as it was. Still I managed to squeeze 6 bottles in there!

QOTD : Can’t answer it because it’s already Saturday nite.

But on the Justin, I can comment – Have you ever been there? The whole place is fakey-fake & built to impress those with limited knowledge. I mean, it’s great marketing & I am sure that is good for business, but I would prefer a great wine. Really emphasizing form over substance, it seems to me. Justin clearly has this fantasy about Bordeaux, with his little chateau on the hill & the grapes he is growing ( & you should hear the comparisons to Bordeaux on the winery tour), but what is he doing growing Bordeaux varietals in the central coast ??? …. where the Rhone varietals are killing it – should have mentioned the tie in to one of your emails today – Justin is just north of a couple in the list – Tablas Creek , Linne Calado & L’Adenture – all quality Rhone producers.

Good luck cleaning the stain …Mott!!!
Friday Night…finished playing a killer round of golf on a PERFECT day in DC….had a great dinner of a burger and Guinness with a great friend.

We saw the face of Mott (sp?)… I’m new here, but was that the first time?

Wow, you better check with “Heloise” about that wine-stained carpet.

QOTD: Having dinner at home after a beautiful day of visiting some local NJ wineries.

    NB_SPAZZ

Is it just me or does that wine stain on the carpet looks EXACTLY like an outline of Saint Vincent – that patron saint of wine growers. Quick… have Mott cut out the stained section and sell it on E-Bay. It’s way better than that grilled cheese sandwich picture.

Finally caught to the shows we missed. The Justin sounds like something we’d like.

QOTD: Saturday – the day we are watching this we are chilling on the deck with a glass of wine. Friday….I was sick with the flu.

    Dominus

First, get off Mott’s case. You waste more good wine in one sitting than that one stupid stain. Get some of your boys to rent a rug shampooer and clean it up.

That being said, last night (Friday) the little lady and I went to our neighborhood Italian restaurant and I had a half bottle of Isole e Olena, a fav of mine with a whole Branzini fish. Delish.

    Have a great weekend.

    Hi Gary,

I am still in shock as I’d never really SEEN Mott before… just thought he would look so different (guess his voice threw me off)… anyway, watching this late on sat. pm because…
QOTD went to a wine bar for dinner and got home at midnight, opened more wine with friends and went to bed at 6.00 am….. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

  21. April 19, 2008

    dAve

Walking off stage was a hoot! Keeping it real. Mott is your key to success. ha. smile.
When is the next secret Pack? My neighbor is buying next time. haha. smile.

QOTD: white burgundy and Cabot dry cheddar – what a rush. When you doing more cheese?

One man’s over the top is another man’s Yum!!!! Justin is a great winery to visit if you get the chance, nice people and reasonable prices. You need to be in their wine club to get the Isosceles Reserve which is even more over the top and only made in great years. Double Yum! Do you sell Linne Calodo at Wine Library? Thought they were direct only. I think they are the “poor man’s Sine Qua Non”. Gary, you will think they are too over the top.

OMG Thank you guys from the bottom of my heart. That was a great Birthday Shout Out. As Gary would say, I’m humbled. Thank you sooo much again.

QOTD (watching on Saturday) I am going out for the Birthday!!!

Sorry to see the Vayniac glass in pieces, rare treasures those things. The episode seemed a bit rushed or disjointed today, lacked focus (sorry…).

QOTD – Didn’t do anything really, just chilled.

Worked at my best friend’s wine shop to help out with a tasting event, then went to a great restaurant to meet a friend. Drank a glass of Hedges bordeaux blend followed by a glass of Owen Roe Yakima Red Blend. Love those Washington reds!
