QOTD: Got a bottle each of Terredora’s ‘Loggia Della Serra’ Greco and ‘Lacryma Christi Del Vesuvio Blanco’ Coda Di Volpe aka Capronetta. Need to drink them before they lose youthfulness! Also Feudi Di San Gregorio’s Fiano Di Avellino.

Yes, I’ve had a couple. I lived in Rome for a bit, and it is very popular with Italians themselves. Not sure why we don’t know about it over here.

I like the terms and the way you taste ..but do you have to be so very vulgar?
I agree that winetasters are frumpy and sad, but you are over the limit for me.

GV – great show. I think that I can answer both QOTD’s with the same conviction. NO, I have never had a Greco di Tufo. NO, I did not get around to viewing this episode until it was too late to have it this weekend.
I commit as a wine fan, and an avid viewer of your show to drink a Greco soon.

This is a grape I like. Recently I’ve been impressed with Feudi di San Gregorio’s version. It’s not supposed to age, but I’ve had Mastroberardinos that had evolved wonderfully at ten years old.

Well, I did taste a Falanghina last weekend! To attain the Wine Century Club certificate thing, I’m sure to try a Greco di Tufo some time.
Viewmaster – wow, they still make those!? I had one when I was a child (back in the stone ages). I used to poke out the scary slides.

Very good episode, I’ve been keen to try a Greco di Tufo ever since you bigged it up in an episode last year.

QOTD 1 – Yes, but only one and only a week before this episode at a tasting – strangely enough it was the Vesevo (but 2007) and I thought it was delicious, very fruity and one of the best wines of the night, I’m glad you liked it as well.

QOTD 2 – OK, I didn’t drink a new Italian, but I did buy one….a Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi. I did have an Langhe Arneis for the first time 2 weeks ago.

I’m currently drinking a Santorini Assyrtiko which sounds EXACTLY like that 3rd wine you tried, the Petilia…. dry with a big rubber nose (!).

QOTD #1: Yes, but it was recently and it was a 2002 that had fallen off a LONG time ago, so although the nose was somewhat exciting, the wine lacked acidity and structure and disappeared almost immediately on the palate.

QOTD #2: I could drink more Greco di Tufo, Falanghina, Grechetto, and Soave.
