That show rocked!! Well done to both of you. Looking forward to some Rose this weekend.

QOTD: I can tell you what not to do on a first date; get so nervous you go all the way to the city and forget your credit card and cash!!!!! It’s cool though, I married her 7 years later. I am the Comeback King!

I love the show! She is a doll.

QOTD: I’m too old for a first date.

    Interesting wines.
QOTD: Don’t make me go out there again. But if I did, the first date should be flights and appetizers – lots to talk about, no pressure. Sucking fish eyes would be a risky move for a first date, but one would have to play that by ear.

Great Episode, I thought it was cool that you gave some props to good craft beer as that is where MY passion lies. I’m looking forward to listening to the basicbrewing podcast when it is up.

    Cheers!

Awesome show, Gary. Also enjoying garyvaynerchuk.com–you have one hell of a business mind, my friend.

QOTD: Be interested in her–her experiences, her opinions, and *make her laugh*. Worked when I was dating. Works even better when you’re married.

Great show and great guest! I haven’t dated in a while but I would always go with a California Zinfandel as a date wine. Anything that tastes good, is high in alcohol and will make me look sophisticated … or at least not simple.

QOTD – First date move. This is not always possible – depends on circumstances – but if you can cook for somebody on a first date and you can knock it out of the park . .that’s the move to make.

Yeah! bring some beer on to winelibrary, there are a lot of really good craft and imported beers that few people know about. I’m not talking Becks and Lowenbrau, I’m talking smaller, unique beers.

If the Barbera D’Asti Ellio Perrone is anything similar to my personal favorite wine, Barbera D’Asti Nobbio (2004), then it’s a must have. I haven’t seen Nobbio in stores in recent times, but am not against ordering online. In the meantime, I’m interested in trying this Barbera D’Asti!

Great show! I had a smile on my face the whole friggin time. Great guest!!

QOTD: Just be yourself. Be kind, and a great sense of humor goes a long way. And if that doesn’t pan out a $100/hr escort service works ALL the time :-)

When I dated all those eons ago, my move was to make the girls laugh. Gary you’ve met me. You know I am not gonna kill the girls with my looks. But when they laughed, I found I was better looking. At least they dated me again, so you know, take that for whatever it’s worth. I got one of them to marry me. Score!

As for your guest. Dude! She is hooooooot. Whazup Funky?

Gary, you do good with guests.

I just returned home from a local wine tasting, and I find this very well done show.

You’ve been hitting home runs with your guests. Great interaction and adds a good spontaneous element to the show. Keep mixing it up!

QOTD: dunno. been married 21+ years… forgot my dating moves….

QOTD: It’s been 33 years since I had to use a “first date move!” I’m guessing the powder blue polyester leisure suit probably doesn’t bring the thunder anymore.

What?!? No Folie a Doux ‘Menage a Trois’ offerings?? Where’s the fun??

QOTD: First date move– Moroccan food, eating with hands–and maybe feeding each other, that would be worth a try, plus the spices are sexy, and great with a rose! Not speaking from experience, but if I had a decent moroccan restaurant near by I’d try it.

Gv- I’m a bottle deep in a syrah right now and was missing parts of the show but I think I loved it. QOTD: dinner and a movie- classic move and still tops

    QOTD :::

    WINE TASTING!!!! :)

It’s between that and the art gallery — both if there is time. Coffee is a favorite too, but that’s more pre-first-date :P

It’s funny though — I’m a coffee LOVER and spend just even a little more time with that habit than I do my wine dependency. Anyways — there are huge tasting similarities.

Obviously coffee ALWAYS tastes much more earthy, and rarely gets into the really sweet realm, but one could even argue there are more dimensions (of which those dimensions are more accessible to the home taster). I’ve finally taken to roasting my own green coffee beans, then grinding and brewing (or pulling shots) all myself. There is a HUGE difference from the stuff you buy at the store. Fresh roasted and ground coffee is an almost sweet drink (none of that starbucks bitterness) when only lightly roasted and not long after picked. And just like wine grapes, coffee beans REALLY hold the taste of the surrounding soil. The red lava-rock soil lightness that you get with a Hawaiian Kona bean is NO WHERE to be found in a Peruvian bean (which ends up tasting darker, moister, etc).

I’ve heard that a great wine can have up to 8 distinct tastes in the mouth — can you confirm this, Gary? I’ve also heard that expert tasters can separate over 100 distinct tastes in a good, freshly roasted, ground and brewed coffee. Amazing.

Anyways, I’ll stop blabbing. But GARY ::: you should consider a COFFEE tasting episode. Grab Mark Prince from http://coffeegeek.com/ or someone like that who is an expert in the field and go at it!

Hey, a sex and booze show, what a concept. You two work well together….

I hope to see you rockin’ the pink tomorrow, Gary. I bet you’ll wear it well! :-)

Can you try some 100% Malbec? I’m pretty sure you’ve mentioned how much you like 100% Petit Verdot, so I’m assuming you’ve tried it on the show before, but how about some Malbec? Perhaps a Bordeaux-varietals episode, with blending? Okay, maybe not blending, but still… Malbec?

Also, I think the Oak Monster can be good sometimes… sometimes.

In other news, ladies and gentlemen, Gary Vaynerchuk went 2-3 today with a walk (that’s for #3). (Too bad we can’t draft you in fantasy leagues, as far as I can tell, it’s a rare day when you don’t have a single hit.)

One more thing… You were talking about decanting wine “for a few hours” in yesterday’s show, and I remembered one of my Dad’s clients (he’s a patent attorney) who makes a very cool wine decanter; it’s called The WineFall (http://www.thewinefall.com/). You should check it out; from what my Dad done with some wines, it does some serious decanting in a matter of minutes (minutes if you want to do the whole bottle, seconds for a glass).

QOTD: A nice picnic is usually pretty fun.
