QOTD – First date is shock-and-awe time. Nice clothes, nice restaurant, nice wine – extra planning helps, I think.

Great show with a fun guest. Love the wines and I am ordering them for a date with my wife.

Solid show, but you have to stop hating on dan the man. You know you are just jealous of the isotoners.

    Don Reynolds

Great show. She is my third favorite guest next to A.J. and Jeremy Davies.

QOTD: I still date my wife all the time and being myself seems to be the best approach. I make her laugh…I don’t know what to say.

Totally Great Show! Totally! Will definitely try the Rose wines.

QOTD – Definitley DO NOT go to a movie. How can you get to know someone sitting in a movie theater. I like to go to a little BYOB Chinese restaurant where we can sit and chat. After that, go listen to some jazz/blues music.

QOTD: I’ve been married 8 years so now It’s dinner, a museum, movie, coffee, wine bar or a walk. It’s more fun dating your spouse anyway.

Sigh, I’m jealous, Gary gets all the hot girls. And he’s winning the New Media Minute Tournament for Hottest Male Web Host with a picture that, in my opinion, just does not do justice to the thunder that is gv.

QOTD: I’m poor, so a walk in the park on a nice day on the weekend seems to do the trick.

Well i am married now but first dates were usually drinks in a loungy kind of place where you could talk have some finger foods and drinks and just sit back and relax.

QOTD: Do something fun – not too heavy. First date at a very upscale expensive restaurant is cliche, and puts a lot of pressure on the evening to boot. A bike ride, carnival, outdoor music, etc… is more fun and comes with built in things to talk about.

Gary great episode all of those wines sound good to me :)

    QOTD:
-I usually keep it classic with the dinner then movie date :)

QOTD: Haven’t had a lot of first dates, and now that I’m married I get none. But maybe I can offer a first date tip for the other guys out there: Make eye contact THE ENTIRE TIME! Don’t look down once, because you will be caught. And women love it when I guy holds their eye the whole time. It’s like the first thing my single women friends say after a date. And find a woman who is as crazy about wine as you are, and you’ll never not have something to talk about!

I just saw the internet superstar live video, where you happen to mention roughly how many views the WLTV gets.
And i know that this video was maybe a little later up than others.
    But just over 100 comments?
    Come on people.
    You’ll make Gary cry.
    He doesn’t ask for much.

    Great show.
Loving the guests, they always bring a little something something to the show.

What i do on a date, hmm, depends entirely on the girl.
Plus i haven’t done it in a while.
I’d like to, i enjoy dating, even if it doesn’t turn out as planned.
I like meeting people and learning more about the people i know.

Hey GV, if you really want to get into good beer, come visit us here in Colorado!

QOTD: love bringing the quirkiest angle to everything – the discussion, the place, etc… cause if she can’t handle it, I don’t want to be involved. Why start off bland?

  17. April 25, 2008

excellent guest….can we have her back? i need more dating advice….

qotd: talk about her (the date, that is)
    9.0

Solid show! Any recommendations on buying wines from Calistoga or Sonoma Coast after many wineries were effected by frost?

QOTD: Oliver Hill Petit Syrah and dark chocolate.

  19. April 25, 2008

    Sarno

Great epdisode, my dating days are over.

    Jay

I’m so glad you’re going to dive into some great craft beer.

QOTD: Nice little happy hour spot after work is a great first date. A cocktail/glass of wine/beer with a few snacks and lots of conversation. Also, you have the option to either get out early, or extend the date.

  21. April 25, 2008

QOTD: First date tip – let her do the talking and when possible interject a funny tidbit here or there. It’s not important what/where you eat. It’s about first impressions. Look her in the eyes. Pick up the check.

  22. April 25, 2008

    mindpirate

I love how you picked up on how she was tasting the wine and showed her a different method of tasting. It was great info for everyone watching too.

Not a bad date move I might add. Teach each other something on a first date.

Too funny. Gary, watch the episode again fuuny to see sisterfirend jump out the chair on the intro. But the best part was when you got her to spit instead of swallow, the wine!

  24. April 25, 2008

    Jayhitek

Is her hand on Gary’s thigh..?

QOTD: Totally cool when they turn the table and try and roofie me..

  25. April 25, 2008

    Ryan D

    QotD: The massage… hehe.
