    Mr.Ambassador

GV – Here’s some recommendations that drink well (at least in the “Pacific Time Zone”). For value the Whitestone Winery “Pieces of Red” blend is a winner. For a really interesting experience try the Zanzibar Cellars “Sandra” blend; an Oregon winery sourcing Horse Heaven Hills (WA) fruit and using the Owen Roe facilities – really intense fruit and heavy, creamy mouthfeel.

I recommend you and Mott walk around the Wine Lib…and you randomly pick bottles to taste. Maybe a different section each time? (and stop by the gourmet area and grab some cheeses while you’re at it!)

    Bevlamo Muscato d’Asti. (Think that’s right…)

The Wife and I buy this from the local Sam’s Club for about 12-14 bones and LOVE it. Very sweet, very light.
Just curious to see what a REAL wine drinker would think of it…

Thanks for all you do, GaryVee. You’re an inspiration…

Haven’t gotten to watch this ep until Monday, so it’s probably too late to be in the drawing…

I’m going to have recommend some Central Cali vino’s.

The first is from a young winemaker who is actually an engieering student:
Ovene Winery, Pinot Noir Solomon Hills Vineyard.

The second is anything from Calera. They make some very interesting wines and sometimes use some odd varietals in low production stuff.

Third time I’m trying to leave a comment, somehow it always get moderated(??!!). Then to the point, QOTD: Chassela based white from Lutry, Canton de Vaud, Switzerland. Honey flavors with nice crispiness!

Try the “Dare” from Viader. It’s 1/3 the price and I think 100% Cab Franc.

QOTD: Switching to becoming a Pats fan.

    LASSIE BARK!!!

I can’t buy the bloody book yet, it’s not on release in the U.K. until May 18….

QOTD – I recommend Verdejo from Rueda, Nero d’Avola from Sicilia, aged Madeira on the Thunder Show, you taking more vacation, Mott getting his T-shirt, Wine Library going international and WLTV continuing apace.

How about instead of continuosly swirling the poor wine around as if you were trying to make it sparkling.( everything has a limit) :-) .. you showed the angel tears… the arches the conisitency, the colour, giving your choosen wine a little ‘ elegance’ and charm…

I’m interested in reading your book and comparing your points of views..

ps ….are there ever any tannins or any body in your reds?

Linda… carry on with your amusing SHOW

    Christine

I recommend the 2004 Malbec from Stuart Cellars in Temecula, which is near my home in San Diego, CA.

Nice show…signed up for the Pomum mailing list, can’t wait to try the Shya Red (also love shia labeouf movies, Transformer’s rocked!!!)….I would recommend trying some Virginia and Maryland wines….give us some props!!!!

Speaking of interesting and no so known grape types… and.. a little more friendliness towards former beaten wine regions :) here´s a couple of fantastic reds for you

“Les Eres 2003″, from Celler Joan Simó (Priorat)
“Serrano 2006″ from Bodegas Marcelino (VT Sierra Sur de Jaen)

thank you for the internet’s most fantastic, honest and entertaining wineprogram !

Sune !!! (a former lurker from Denmark)

Just watching the show now…can’t wait to see where this goes!!!

    BargePlus

QOTD: I recommend that you do one week’s worth of shows while floating down the Canal du Midi on a barge in the Languedoc region of France. Take your wife; take your brother, but do it (no experience necessary!). You already like these wines, and they’ll taste even better meandering down the Midi with your loved ones. I enjoyed it so much, I even wrote a book about it; check out the 15-page Book Preview: http://www.blurb.com/my/book/detail/42997

  18. April 28, 2008

    Isaac R.

QOTD: you should try a Morellino di Scansano called Ghiaccio Forte from Castello Romitorio. It’s only available through an Ohio importer called Belvino. In fact, you might think about doing a Morellino show, given that it’s such a terrific (not to mention underrated) area.

  19. April 28, 2008

    LuvsChandon

Another great show, yes PASSION is a good thing! I want to get one of the Secret packs to taste along with, but which to choose?

My recommendation? Gotta try some Humboldt Fog goat cheese if you havent had a chance to yet, great with a sparkler! en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Humboldt_Fog

  20. April 28, 2008

    DJ Sloop

I also recommend doing a show about different ways to transport wine, which are better, how to remove corks, neat things you can do with corks with a tie in to user submitted creations.

  21. April 28, 2008

    DJ Sloop

I recommend you do a show on wines with crazy names. I just had a Hungarian wine called Bull’s Blood. It was cheap and ok.

  22. April 28, 2008

    David Dadekian

QOTD: I recommend you try some wines from some of the vineyards near my home in Connecticut. Stonington Vineyards has a great Cabernet Franc and recently I had the Jonathan Edwards 2005 Napa Valley Petite Sirah (the grapes are grown in Napa, but the wine is made in CT). It was outstanding.

  23. April 28, 2008

    Christian

Great show. Would love to see more about BC Wines.

  24. April 28, 2008

    lawschooldrunk

episode is a little disappointing. was expecting from the title a kosher wine episode but was only given one. gary, you should try the baron herzog special reserve white riesling. that one was great.

95 points for the shya? come on. and 90 for the syrah? dude, your number system was screwy today- get back to the couch!

QOTD: have some dalton’s syrah or yarden’s merlot 2002 or goose bay sauv blanc 2005.

    and don’t crush the matzah

  25. April 28, 2008

    Carlitos

QOTD. I recommend you keeping your promise of bringing more new/different varietals to the Thundershow.

    Keep it up!
