Fiber one. Not for a particular reason, but we have it lying around and it makes a good snack.

Based on your review, I ordered 4 bottles from winelibrary (show some support yo!) and at the office I gave 3 bottles away to my office-mates (I was ALMOST thinking of keeping winelibrary and Gary’s reviews all to my self, but decided to share : )

Their homework this week is to come back with tasting notes.

I opened my bottle this evening over dinner. My wife is a personal chef and made her coffee and cocoa dry rubbed churasco steak. This wine was a very nice paring with dinner. Gary you are on the money – sweet berries on the nose and powerful with a hint of acidity on the back end. Very enjoyable – even more when I think I paid $8 for it.

This might have become my new every day wine. I think I’ll order a case now : )

    Gary,
After seeing your review of the La Linda i walked into a tasting at my local wine shop and they were sampling it. I tried it for myself and agreed with you 100% great wine for the price.
    Thanks for the help.

Gary I watched this video when you posted it and I thought “No way the Pago can be the harsh.” So, I took one off the shelve the give it a taste. OMG It was more massively oaked than I could ever fathom. If the walking tree people from Lord of the Rings bled…..It would taste like this. I did catch a little maraschino cherry action on the first taste. Two hours later all the fruit was gone and the wood was even more intense.

Thank you for allowing me to experience this wonderfully horrific experience. I need a bowl of Honey Nut Cheereos to get this forest out of my mouth.

My girlfriend’s favorite varietal is Temparanillo, thanks for a doing an episode. Eating Joe’s O’s…aka Trader Joe’s version of Cherrios. Try out the Stagecoach Temp if you ever have a chance (dense, focused, a little young, petite sirah ish and new worldie but darn good)

Great Harvest Bread’s granola. It’s hearty with slivered almonds and apricots, plus I love that they give a generous bread sample loaded with ample butter everytime you go in to the bakery. I’m a sucker for free samples.

    Lurker coming outta the shadows…

My wife just bought us some Fruity Pebbles! I love that stuff, but I can eat a whole box in one sitting.

Thanks for a good episode. You continue to make me aware of the HUGE number of choices I have.

QOTD – Not a big cereal fan but like Grape Nuts, plain Cheerio’s, none of the highly sugered (is that a word?) choices out there.

Fun show GV – no cereal at the moment, but I used to fire down Captain Crunch like it was going out of style. In my youth. When breath didn’t matter.

“if you like eating wood, this one may be for you” HAHAHAHA!

QOTD: I have granola bars and black loose leaf tea for breakfast, occasionally some fresh fruit if I feel like indulging. No cereal. Back in the day I was a big Cinnamon Toast Crunch or Raisin Bran fan

QOTD: My normal cereal is Quaker Instant Oatmeal Date and Nut flavor. Great way to start the day. :-)

Great show. Loved the humor tonight. I’m eating Del Haize Granola with Blueberry yoghurt. Overall I think cereal mostly sucks though.

    Hello:

This grape variatal is also used in Portugal, in the Douro Regin it is Known as Tinta Roriz (used mainly for making Porto wine) and in the Alentejo region it is known as Aragonêz.

    Keep Well.

I have been a long time fan of Golden Grahams (2nd choice, Reeses cereal). They rock.

QOTD: I haven’t been eating cereal for breakfast really for like the past year…usually have eggs and toast or a bagel with cream cheese for breakfast. If I do have cereal, it’s when I need a snack, in which case it would be the cinnamon mini wheats that just came out. There’s a cereal that brings some thunder.

QOTD: Kashi Go-Lean Crunch. Love the stuff with a some light vanilla soy milk on it. Gives me the wind though, cripes. And no, I’m not a hippie, just trying to age gracefully. Besides, the more moderate and healthy I am in some areas, the more hedonistic I can be in others. :-)

QOTD: I like it all! Like to move from sugary stuff like Fruity Pebbles to the simple yet healthy picks like Grapenuts.

A better question perhaps is this: Do you use milk for your cereal, or do you prefer the new and trendy soy milk substitues? (My answer – I tried the soy, but it’s too viscous and sweet – have to go traditional and pour on the cow juice.)

i love when the super cheap wines are amazing! especially since it’s a grape i’ve never tried before.
qotd: i’ve been eating this maple brown sugar granola that i got from walmart and it’s pretty delicious!

Gary, HA HA! The double nickel score was hilarious, and from everything you said, right on point. 5 points for having something reminiscent of fruit lurking in the background. QOTD: Smart Start Clusters
