    Great Show,
QOTD: I’m gonna guess, ummmmm, 3.5 million!

Speaking of interesting packaging concepts, A friend sent me this link on a label that tears off easily and a single taste size wine container…

    GV, check them out!

What’s with the hating in the comments? Really enjoyed the show, regardless of the wine in the thing, its interesting to see another option out there. It’d be a great draw at a bar or restaurant for a house wine, especially if the price point came down a little–but new ideas are always a little more expensive at first.

Don’t kill on the sales guy.. and I’m going to pass on the QOTD because I read enough comments to know the answer ..

I would really love to see local wineries have this product available for parties!

I think those would be SERIOUSLY good business for restaurants, especially with being able to turn in the kegs for re-use. Very cool technology, and a nice guy to boot.

    QOTD: I’d say about 800,000 kegs/year. Total guess. :)

    Genghis Philip

QOTD: 1719 kegs, because the show seems like the end was randomly padded to get to 17:19.

The idea’s fine and all, but do it without the salesperson alongside. He REALLY took away from the whole thing. After watching you taste so many wines, I think viewers have a pretty good idea of how you react to wines you don’t like… these were in that ballpark.

Great opening song and great ep! That really is changing the wine world. And I think you nailed one of the marketing angles GV, environmentally friendly packaging all the way!!

    QOTD: 1 million

I love this idea! And I think it will work in homes too, because it’s a great way of just having a glass a day (good for the heart!) without going through bottles.

QOTD- Italy’s population is about 60 million, so I’m guessing… ’bout 60 million!
Or, realistically… probably not many. Could be just like 1000. Or I could be wrong… maybe 10,000?

Gary! More Barolo! ; ) I wanna hear more about Barolo!

And I want you to get yer arse up to Dublin and show all the Guinness swiggin’ eejits what drinking’s really about! ; )

    QOTD: One million!?!

Love the concept of the wine kegs… like you said though, the quality needs to get better.

I forgot to say what a great idea this is for restaurants and wine bars….100 taps all sold by the glass what a great way to expand the palate…the first place to do this right is going to kill.

QOTD: I guess, without googling, it’s 723,469 per year.

Outside is a cool way to do it and we don’t have to see the silly Jets bucket. By the way what happened to the audio after Gary’s sign off.

    Robin C

    Cool concept for casual gatherings.
QOTD: without looking it up Id say 5.

    BargePlus

    QOTD: 0, i.e. zero?

My QOTD: So where can you get these kegs retail? I keep following the links and winding up at distributors who want to sell them to retailers, but nothing directly to consumers. So how am I going for that party play?

  25. May 1, 2008

    Karl Laczko

Interesting, wine kegs? Not sure I’m convinced.

QOTD – No google (where would you start anyway?). 150,000.
