Vernaccia is another classic white wine that is overlooked by so many as they focus on the 1 or 2 white wines they drink from Italy. I hate to pick on Pinot Grigio but I want people to expand their palates.

QOTD: How many bottles of wine do you drink on average a week?

My question to you GV: If you’d start making wine instead of tasting it and selling it, in which part of the worl would you make it? and what type of wine would you grow?

QOTD = Not to point out the obvious but I’d probably ask you if you wanted your Patron chilled or not.. Then proceed to ridicule you if you wanted it chilled…… LOL

I may be in for the 12th buddy

I would love to see you come to Indianapolis on your tour! I have been spreading the thunder about your book to everyone around here :)

QOTD: Who is your strangest regular at Wine Library and why?

    Chris in Tulsa

    Happy birthday GV mom!

QOTD: What’s you’re wife like? Is she into wine? You should have her on the show!

QOTD: “What’s your personal goal?” I’m curious where you really are going with all this. I’m reading “Emperor of Wine” the book about RP and I wonder where you are going to go?

Gary- Why arent you coming to Boise in August for the book tour and the Idaho State Wine Festival to be a judge like last year. I’ll make sure that you get out and fish while you are here.

Nosy QOTD: “If” you and Lizzie are being pressured to start a family, why don’t you plan a houseboat vacation for next summer. Guaranteed to do the trick! And you’d have two great Canadian locales to choose from: British Columbia’s Shuswap lakes (with good proximity to the Okanagan wine paradise) or Ontario’s Rideau Lake (with the best reputation for producing houseboat-related preggers).

Hey GV, I’d ask you about the first wine that you’ve tasted and how old were you back then (won’t believe 21 yrs old)! Cheers

QOTD: What precipitated the changing of the show. The fist episodes were quite devoid of character. Did you suppress your energy way back when or are these newer shows done in an over the top character that are not true reflections of how you normally carry yourself.

Interesting show, I had never heard of those wines before.

If you could drink wine with a celebrity, who would you choose?

QOTD: Who’s going to win the Lord Stanley’s cup? Who is going to win the NBA finals? How do you balance work/life? You give everything (or so it seems) to this job, and WLTV, but that doesn’t leave a lot of time for your wife/family. We love what you do for use, but we want to make sure you’re happy.

It would be terrific if you came to Indianapolis on your book tour – - but if not, I’ll try to come up to Chicago for your stop there. If you add Cincinnati, OH to the tour, that’s even closer!

QOTD: are you one of those people who only need 4 hours of sleep? Is that how you do everything that you do???

    Have a great weekend.

QOTD: Definately have to be… What’s the endgame for you Gary? At what point do you say, ‘You know what.. I think we did it.’ Well? Gimme the vision Gary!

So, for the book tour. You gotta come to Chicago Gary! We need you. I represented at one of the biggest wine events in the city – Toast the Town Chicago, 500 wines 20 local restaurants.. but I was dissapointed Gary. I was workin the wristband, and with style too – no one at the event inquired or knew about it. Ironically, I met a lady getting of the train who caught up with me and took a video interview about why I was wearing the wristband. Ill email it to you when I get a copy! (Youll see the style in the vid!) So yea.. we need some thunder in Chicago; we got some work to do. If you come ill help you bring it!

QOTD: Gary, other than yourself who is really bringing their personal brand to the masses in a progressive and exciting way? And why is this?

Please come visit Milwaukee (Packerland). Schwartz bookstores.

And you should really try to do the show from your different stops on the Thunder book tour.

QOTD: I’d probably ask you if you like the wine we’re sippin’ on.

The problem with Gary’s selections is that they cannot be found outside of Wine Library.

Keep those tips on the Whites coming! Sorry to hear Chardonnay isn’t your thing–I liked the one showcased at WineLibrary during the Wine/food tasting in March!

My answer to the QOD: If we were hanging out, I’d have two things to ask–question 1 is “As busy as things have been the past 10 years for you, do you have any regrets?”…question 2 is “in your opinion, who was the best of all time, Hogan or Flair?”

Come up to Ann Arbor, MI, it’s the corporate headquarters for Boarder’s books, plus we still have a good group of CKCs left even after graduation.

QOTD- Where would you be if it wasn’t for the store and WL.com?

Come to Minneapolis/St. Paul. We like books. We love wine.

QOTD: Gary, why is your hand on my knee…?
