    QOTD: Portugal, for sure.

This was another great show, got the fiance to hang out and watch and even the dog was here (don’t worry he didn’t get any wine). I love these shows!!

I bought some blue cheese as soon as I saw that Sauternes, yum yum.

Venice! For the awesome enobars and the local awesomes such as prosecco and amarone.

Gary, can you come to Chicago?

QOTD: I’m not going to be very original, but I think it would be the Bordeaux region – what can you do, I’m French after all (I love other French wines, but I haven’t been to Bordeaux in such a long time). I think the gf and I will try doing the Weekend des Grands Amateurs in 2010, which could also be a great opportunity to taste and possibly buy some ‘09 futures (which should be a special year for us).

QOTD: This is a no brainer! ITALY!!! that is the motherland for me!!! The Piedmonte region would be nice and explore Veneto also!!!

Love to try these wines and they are so reasonable priced. Nice Job!!!

Still think you should come to Chi-Town!!!

ok, you’ve proven you can swirl and you’re a good sport, but I’ll take on your dare any day champ!

qotd; My first choice is Barbaresco, but I already live here so my next choice is South Africa.

The wine may not be the best, the food even, but I have been all over and no where can beat Cinque Terra Italy. Hiking through the vineyards there changed my life and I would go back in a heart beat. No where in the US or France can compare.

When I first poured the Rioja, I gave it a little “sniffy sniff”. “Oh man! Sheep butt!” was my reaction! Good stuff, really interesting wines. Awesome show, awesome wines, doesn’t get much better than that! Thanks, Gary!

The Sauternes had me most interested here, strangely enough I still haven’t had one.

QOTD – Tough question, only one plane ticket? I’m going to have to say the fatherland – Hungary, and specifically Tokaj-Hegyalja. That way I get to try wome wonderful wines and also visit a country dear to my heart.

QOTD: Capelands-Stellenbosch=THE MOST BEAUTIFUL. and down to see the whales and monkeys and wines (please!). OK, #2 Most beautiful, the Douro in Portugal: my friends say i am made for white port, spritz and lemon on the veranda with a view, fab fish, beautiful wines i can’t pronounce for dinner and port, port, port. But only if I can stomp grapes, ok? Idea. Round-the-world ticket (I’ll check out Argentina). Your dime, my suitcase.
Wine not the only thing? Ok, where not to go: Bordeaux. yes, wine is great (city is really jazzed up) but still can’t taste on weekends-duh. I’ve been, and the food, service and wine friendliness is a disaster unless you go to the off-important-make-good-wine places, then its really fun. spend the trip money on that important wine.

Great show. Looking forward to seeing you on Conan and Cramer.

QOTD: Going to Sonoma for the 4th time in six years this summer, but if I only had one trip left ever: its gotta be Bordeaux.

QOTD: It would have to be Bordeaux. I need to check out the Ubervineyards in person. Then I’d go through Sauternes, Pomerol, Alsace, the Mosel, Tuscany, Rioja, then hop down to Stellenbosch, Barossa, Marlborough, Central Otago, back up to the Finger Lakes in NY, across to Walla Walla, through Oregon, down Napa and Sonoma to Paso Robles, down through Santa Barbara and back home. Then I’d pass out.

qotd: I would have to say at a Superbowl, sharing the bubbly with G.V. as the Jets win! Until then, the Amalfi coast of Italy, in a helicopter over Paris at night, or in the kitchen with family and friends at poker every Friday night with the smells of food and the sounds of music and laughter filling the house.
When are you coming over? Open invite…
