This was another great show, got the fiance to hang out and watch and even the dog was here (don’t worry he didn’t get any wine). I love these shows!!

I bought some blue cheese as soon as I saw that Sauternes, yum yum.

QOTD – I’d like to tour the New Zealand wineries and surrounding country.

QOTD: Burgundy, there is no other place that comes to mind,(well maybe Bordeaux) I mean you got to love these 1999 Pinot´s and they are as Tina said it so great “simple the best” for my palate that is:)

Q-Italy, more specific Tuscany and the Venento.

QOTD; Would love to see new-world-wine-contries like New Zealand and Australian, or South-African or Chile. Hope to go to Australia… I’m still young:-)

I would want a hard core long trip through all of france. I can’t narrow it down any more than that.

QOTD: Bordeaux for sure!

Never tried a desert wine before. Bought the “2004 Chateau Petit Vedrines” Sauternes and you are 100% correct about the smell. Couldn’t believe it. However it is way too sweet for me. I’m sure a lot of people will like it because of the high sugar content. I just can’t get over the smell. It does smell like a rubber ball with apricots.

I think that’s a great QOTD. For me, I think it would be Castiglione Falletto in the heart of the Barolo area of Piemonte, Italia. And it would have to be dinner at Ristorante Le Torri after a visit to the Vietti winery. I have never been there, but I once had a dinner at Spiaggia in Chicago when Vietti owner/winemaker Luca Currado presented his wines, and Chef Maria Cristina (from Le Torri) was the guest chef. It was wonderful.

GV, kudos on the pack review. The Rioja sounds perfect…with that dog on the label…I assume the wine has a remarkable “terrier”.
sorry….guess I’m barking up the wrong tree there. But, hey, you gotta unleash a little humor once in a while. One of my pet loves is word play. Sniffy sniff city.
Where would I go with the unique airplane ticket? To Rangiroa where decent wines are made in the South Pacific…Tahiti…no trouble atoll.

Great show. Unfortunately with my schedule, I was unable to participate in the secret pack. The Rioja sounded great and it is one of my favorites.

I have been to Bordeaux, Burgundy, the Rhone, Rheingau. However, the one place that I would really love to go to is Toscana! I love the wines, and I have heard great things about the food and the countryside.

I just tried the Prado Ayala on GV’s recommendation and was floored at the QPR. I wish I could pick this up in benighted Oklahoma. Spot on. Ten dollars, are you kidding?

QOTD: Burgundy and Champagne region for sure…

QOTD: New Zealand for the beautiful country (though I don’t have much experience with their wines) or Apulia for an authentic trip to Italy and some great Primitivo.

Great show. It’s too bad we didn’t get the secret packs this time around, maybe next time.

qotd: if I had one plane ticket to anywhere that has to do with wine? I would without a doubt come to wine library, and pray for the chance to chat with you (or if everything was ticketed to have a drink with you) I know I am getting rotton tomatoes thrown at me right now, but honestly I learn a ton from you, and where I am at right now, that would without a doubt be the most logical and benificial trip I could take in the wine world.

Gary- been out of the game for a long time, been missing the show for a long time because I’ve been too busy. We openned the first we’ve had of the two secret packs (I got both for my birthday) the Riojo tonight and watched the show. Before we watched it we were drinking the wine and I was like this really smells like poop. Spot on, great wine, great show I need to come back to the fold…..
