Yo! Yo! you guys hooked it up today!! Nice show, the best guest as far as chemistry with you in some time! He just pimped all the ladies with his “wine moment” question! LOL!!

I’ve had so many great moments, it would be hard to do one! But they all include friends or family and I am looking forward to so many more….:), yes I am greedy for the great moments!

Just so you know, the podcast version of this episode was messed up. When I tried to play it through iTunes it wouldn’t work, when I tried using Quicktime that didn’t work, using VLC, the video dies at the 12:40 mark, so now I’m trying to watch from the website.

Mott, you gotta do something about this for the people who want to download and watch this later in the week.

Love the show guys, see you at Bounce, I’m be there tonight!

Best wine moment had to be in August 2006 sharing a bottle of ‘97 Beaulieu Georges De Latour cab with my dad to celebrate the birth of my firstborn.

my moment was: doing a switcheroo @ the U-Scan at the grocery store with any 2 dollar bottle of wine and a bottle of 70 bone stag’s leap artemis (scan the 2 dollar bottle twice, and slip the extravagant one in the bag). decanted for an hour and knocked back at a buddy of mine’s apartment. good times. (Don’t try this at home &/or ruin the trick for the rest of us!!)

first time i’ve left a comment but i feel this deserved one. this has been my favorite episode as of yet. great work. i think maybe the fact that it was taped so early really changed the feel of the show in general. good job and congratulations on med. school!

Great show. Congrats Matt! Gary, I really laughed at your comment about the snootiness of the people at Gruet.. they’re awful! I live in New Mexico so Gruet is very popular around these parts, but I will no longer take my guests to see the winery when they visit. Tell you what, Gary… when you come to Albuquerque on your book tour (wink, wink)… we’ll be happy to take you there and see what you think. Maybe you can talk some sense into those snobby SOB’s!

QOTD — I’ve had many great wine moments, but they are usually not about the wine but about the place and the people. My favorite bubbly memory, though is from Buenos Aires and a fabulous wine shop called Terroir. The owner graciously invited my husband and I to a party there. Nobody spoke much English and we had a blast! It was all champagne and the grand finale was Dom P. I don’t remember the champagnes at all, but the night was unforgettable.

Great episode, Gary! Great guest! Good luck tonight on Conan! QOD: Under the portico of a church in Santorini, overlooking the Caldera and all of the sea, drinking retsina…ridonculous!

Nice show today. And congrats to Matt for graduating med school! You definitely deserve the bubbly!

QOTD: (great question by the way) Other than my W.A.S.T.E.D. meetings here in Madison, my favorite wine experience had to be in France in the tiny village of Monflaquin. I was on a horseback riding trip through the southwest of France during high school and we stopped for lunch (bien sûr). We started drinking a red wine with lunch and it was the first time I had ever drank a red wine that I liked. But I had to stop so I wouldn’t “drive” drunk….I had 20 more kilometers to go that day!

Staying up on the Left Coast for CONAN tonite!

QOTD: Tasting at Sierra Grove with Dr Joe on a quiet Thursday afternoon in Napa. Pourer was a very personable young man into the wine he was serving us, had my best cab to date, and some really fun fun conversation on wine and other topics, a wine and a moment I will NEVER forget.

    Great show, love the bubbly!

QOTD: One of my favorite wine moments would have to be with Gary V & friends at Bern’s in Tampa! Birth year wines people!

A close second though…would be just about any bottle I open with friends and family. I remember them al…last one Jayson Napa Red, Mother’s Day!

Alright. While watching this video and you mentioning Conan I realized something. You NEED to be on SNL! I can imagine an SNL skit while you’re trying to educate some people on tasting wines but they keep coming up with wrong answers or just act like morons. Get your people in touch with Lorne’s people. This needs to happen.

Matt, congrats … both on med. school and on the trip to Wine Lib. / drinking bubbly with GV.

QoTD: The moment I discovered my love for Sangiovese in northern Italy while sitting outside one evening having a chat with some colleagues from around the world. I felt so fortunate to be enjoying such great wine with such brilliant minds.

    John Farrin

QOTD: The same moment that, fortunately, has happened many, many times. It’s the look of surprise and amazement that passes over a person’s face immediately after they’ve taken their first sip of a new, exoiting wine that I have introduced them to.

    Staying up for Conan!

My favorite wine moment was the first bottle of serious, not Mateuse, wine I bought at 22 years old. It was a St. Emilion and as I left the store it was raining and the bottle slipped out of my hand and broke at the store entrance. I was deflated completely and the owner came out with another of the same bottle and handed it to me. One of my best all time moments and he made a friend for life. I went to his funeral last year and I never will forget him. And the wine a Figeac ‘66 was amazing. I still purchase them. Great guest and congratulations on your accomplishment.

Great show today!!! Some guys have all the luck.
QOTD- The first time I actually tasted at a winery my wife and I rode the motorcycle three hours down to Canon City. On the ride home we rode through a downpour that turned to hail. But in retrospect it was one of the memorable wine tastings I have had to this day.

Matt way to celebrate graduating….Big timing for sure being on WLTV!!

QOTD: first time I went to Napa with my Dad and he took me on a tour of a winery…really a lot of fun.
