That is an awesome format for the show (blind tasting and ranking of varied wines of a particular region and/or grape)–must do more of them! Even more intriguing would be the same amount of wines, but at varied price points, ranging from the single digits up to nearly $100.

Another really great show…I will admit that I was a little bummed to see that you didn’t work in the bottle of Teachworth Cabernet that I left you a few months back to re-taste on the show….this would have been a great venue to taste it in against so many other Napa Cabernet’s.

QOTD: Well that’s just a little more than obvious that my favorite is the Teachworth Manzanita Hill Cabernet Sauvignon.

    Gary V,
Excellent show, I really liked the blind tasting. Sadly being on the CKC I haven’t had many an opportunity to drink Napa Cab. Congrats on the book, I’m skeptical though! Is there gonna be stuff for the CKC in there?

Love the blind format for the big daddy cabs, I like that you tasted some smaller producers… right next to the big guys

    QOD Hundred Acre Cabernet

How about a tasting where Gary is blindfolded and has to distinguish between several different varietals??

    I like this format, GV!

QOTD: This may sound a bit funny, but I haven’t had one I liked! My financial status doesn’t lend itself to Napa Cabs… but when I find one I like it will be a momentous occasion!!!

Easy! Number 1: Shafer Hillside Select Number 2: Silver Oak Napa Number 3: Dominus. All very pricey, but incredibly memorable.

I concur with many of the comments, love the blind format. The show was great.

Conan and Mad Money were killer too. Spectacular job on Mad Money, get Cramer over to the store to spend some of his money…

QOTD: 1998 Cakebread Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valey has to be my favorite, but not easily affordable up here. I’ve had many other outstanding Napa cabs though, but Cakebread was the first to come to my mind.

I love you GV, but booooo on slamming Boston sports teams. Go Pat’s, Go C’s and definitely go Bo Sox!!!! Who really cares about the Bruins though?

    Great show.

QOTD: I can’t think of a Napa Cab that blew me away. I tasted an 04 Peter Paul Napa Cab today that brought some thunder…especially at 35 bones.

I don’t have a favorite Napa Valley Cabernet. I’ve only had a few in my short wine career, and none have blown my socks off.

GV, what is the difference between a 94 and a 95 point wine? Please enlighten us.
    ;)

Not sure off the top of my head what my favorite Napa cab is, but my least favorite is Opus. Never fails to disappoint. I’ve had about a half dozen different vintages (mostly at work dinners/events), each was worse than the prior…

Well, I don’t have a favorite Napa Cab due to my age (20), but can I say that my favorite Sonoma Cab is the one my Dad makes from the 60-ish vines in our backyard? Apparently he made some really good stuff a few years back…

Also, I know I said this yesterday and in an URGENT e-mail, but if you could give my Dad, Ed Sherman, a Happy Birthday shout-out on this Friday, May 16th, that would be SO awesome!

Congrats on the book!!!! And Conan! And Mad Money!!
