QOTD: I don’t believe I’ve ever had a Carmenere, I know I’ve had an Errazuriz but I can’t remember what. Yes, I promise to try a Carmenere at the first possible moment.

I had a regular Errazuriz Estate last week- decent enough and I think it showed some of the nice Carmenere character.

Can’t remember our last Carmenere, but I know we’ve had at least one. Great job on Conan and Mad Money, both were hysterical! I just got your books yesterday and read quite a bit. It’s very hard to put down and I know I’ll have to read it a few times to catch all your witty lines. I hope you come out with 101 wines every year to keep us updated on what you think are the hot buys. Thanks for everything Gary and for another great episode.

QOTD: 2005 Concha y Toro Carménère Terrunyo Peumo Vineyard Block 27…for me 86……I have become a huge fan of this grape because I like the veggie, loam, Road Tar aspect of these wines, plus is doesn’t hurt the wallet. Great Restaurant wines!! It is funny the day you send me a shout out you pick a grape I love!
    Thanks G!

Yeah, the Chilean Crameneres are still pretty hit-and-miss.

QOTD: The last one I had was a Carmenere-Merlot blend called “oops”. The labeling is kinda gimmicky, but it easily beats out most of the other Crameneres I’ve had, and it’s cheap, too (~$10). I’ve also tried some of their other varieties (including a Rose of Cramenere) and not been disappointed.

I can’t say as I remember but will put it on the list of things to do.
Where does that “Oak Monster” come from, BTW? The barrel, the chemistry set or
the terroir? The oaks growing on the land?

The last Carmanere I had was the Colores del Sol. A modestly priced wine that was enjoyable.

I have never tried a Carmenere, but next time I’m out buying wine I will likely seek out and try a bottle.

Also, I’m waiting on your autographed book to arrive from Woot! Gary, have you got all 1000 books signed yet?

The last Carmenere I had was by Origin which is an Albertson’s house brand. It was a 2004 and wasn’t bad. I liked it enough to purchase 2 more bottles which are stored at home. Other Carmeneres I have are 2005 Vina Requingua Puerto Viejo Reserve, Concha y Toro Casillero del Diablo, Hacienda Altavina which is a Fresh & Easy brand.

QOTD – I have never had a carmenere but after to reaction to the veg flavors in the Concha Y Toro Carmenere I have to seek it out just to experience it.

P.S. Nice work on TV in the last week. Informative and hilarious!
