A wine that is very overlooked and is drank hard core in Friuli the Tocai Friulano. Starting in 2007 the Tocai part of the name has to be dropped.

never had had one but I was excited when I read the notes because I remembered seeing several reviewed in a magazine a couple years back. they were likewise impressed, even to the point of calling them “super whites” Thanks, I’ll seek these out and have a go.

Lived in Fruili for 3 years 2002-5. While I prefer red, Fruili is known for its great whites. My favorite Tocai producers are Franco Toros, Dario Racarro, Mario Drius, Livio Felluga, and tonight I will be drinking a Ronco de Gelso Tocai 2003 (just so happened to pick that one out even before the show).

Never heard of this wine, but with that kind of reaction and scoring, looks like i’m the looser. I like the short and sweet/or not so sweet laid back Fridays. Gets me pumped for Memorial Day, (although I do work tomorrow). God bless the memory of our fallen troops.

YES, had a vertical tasting of i Clivi Bianco last week, I know exactly what you mean by the floral bouquet and pleasing acidity and just plain unusual subtle flavors
