this one may fool ya – as much as eli to tyree (see name above) is the obvious answer the top three are all hockey moments … Number 3 – “and the New York Rangers are Stanly Cup champions and 1940 is now a distant memory” June 14th 1994- Rangers are stanley cup champions with Messier holding the cup over his head – Number 2 Matteau!! Matteau!!Matteau!!Stephon MAteau and the rangers have one more hill to climb baby and its mount Vancouver!” (howie Rose) – Rangers over Devils in overtime of game 7 1994 semifinals – and number 1 – “Do you believe in miracles -Yes” 1980 USA olympic hockey team, my inspiration every time someone tells me something is not possible.

awesome show…wine sounds good. never even heard of it.

QOTD: fav. sports moment…i played soccer in h.s., and the last game of my senior season, we played this team with the best defense in our conference. i dribbled right down the middle of their defense for a goal. ppl freaked out…my team, their team, our crowd, their crowd…15 minutes of fame…pretty sweet.

Good episode. Will try the Martinetti. QOTD – 1986 world series game 6 when Mookie’s ground ball went through Bill Buckner’s legs. Another favorite is 1994 when the NYR won the Stanley Cup. And how about “Matteau Matteau Matteau”.

Sept. 28 1998, Cubs vs. Giants 1 game playoff, winner goes to the NLDS. Gary Gaetti parks a two run shot and Wrigley goes bonkers!!! Personal sports moment I rushed for 2 TDS and 148 yds for the Maroa-Forsyth (IL) Trojans against the Assumption Comets in absolutely frigid weather, didn’t feel any cold that day.

Favorite sports moment, besides Randy Savage using the ring bell on Steamboat, is Mark Barvaro catching a pass from Phil Simms and carrying the entire San Fran 49ers defense on his back while running for yardage back in 1986.

QOTD – How can I pick one sports moment out of a life time of them? It may have been when I got my first hole in one.

Never had a Gavi…but, I’m on it now

QOTD: Viewed – too many to mention. ‘85 Bears season. Sosa & McGuire home run chase. Jordan Championchips. Personally: Qualifying for Boston Marathon.

QOTD: Watching Steve Kerr get the dish from M.J. in game six of the ‘97 series and drop the game winner! I thought it showed the respect that M.J. had for Steve’s shooting ability. I grew up in Tucson watching Kerr play and no one really thought that he would make it in the pros. They thought he was too slow and always neede to shoot off of a screen so it was a very special moment for me.

    Thanks to our Vets!

Lots of great sports moments, but the 1987 Fiesta Bowl when Penn State upset in a BIG way Miami and your boy (NOT) Vinny Testaverde. Five picks that night! I wonder if Vinny still wakes up once-in-a-while from the white helmeted nightmare of that night!!!

QOTD: Favorite sports moment had to be when Buster Douglas knocked Mike Tyson senseless. Will never forget that…

QOTD: Definitely 2006 AFC Championship where Indi overcame the Pats late in the 4th quarter. I was ecstatically jumping up and down and screaming (Both because of my love for Peyton Manning and my hate for Tom Brady)

QOTD:on a personal note watching my son ride a horse through a tough trail and amazed at what a great horseman he truely has become. PRO-1985 Bears on the sidelines in freezin weather, not feeling my toes and not caring!!

Am interested in seeking out the GAVI-just another new wine to introduce to my PAL!!!

    Thanks!

    The Doc

QOTD – For myself it would be hitting my one and only homerun (in little league) during the all star game.
I know it sounds like a cop out but all of the GIANTS Superbowl Victories (you will enjoy one someday, maybe) and definitely the eight run, eighth inning, Mets come from behind win against the Braves, on fireworks night with my soon to be wife, at Shea Stadium. Big ups to sporting events and always sharing those moments with friends and family. Next year you have to bring your Pops to the draft.

QOTD: The last play of the 200 Super Bowl when my Rams hung on to win by only this |————————————————————| much.

  23. June 4, 2008

    Kevin Grove

Favorite was watching Iverson drop 50 points to beat the Kings in overtime at the Wachovia center, followed closely by watching the Flyers eliminate the defending champ Devils from the playoffs at home the year before Gary Bettman ruined hockey.

  24. June 4, 2008

    Dominus

BargePlus brings back an amazing moment.

  25. June 4, 2008

    Dominus

I’ve always wanted to try the Gavis since it was paired with a sun-dried tomato recipe that I saw on a VHS video by a local Italian restaurant in DC years ago. I will definitely try this one.

QOTD: Personal: Throwing a no-hitter at my last high school game where I stuck out 17 of a possible 21 batters. Asked to come to tryouts by 4 pro teams; Os, Mets, Senators (last yr they were here) and Royals. The Royals drafted me out of high school but did not go. Long story.

Professional sports moment: Wanna guess? No, its not the Colts’ Super Bowl victory but rather the comeback victory on those Cheatin’ Pats in the AFC Championship that I will talk about until I die. I’ve got goosebumps just talking about it.

    Be safe

P.S. See ya on the 26th!!!!
