unique…its more the combo of traits that make me unique. can’t pin it down to one. I know that’s a cop out, but its true, and if anyone really wants to know, email me.

did you say weakest too? ouch. again, if anyone really wants to know…..

QOTD: I would have to say my sense of humor, but another person could think something different…kind of like wine.

QOTD: I like to talk about wine. A lot. Once you get me started, I won’t stop until I start to see people’s eyes rolling into the back of their heads. LOL :-)

“unique”. Meaning “not like others”. I’d have to say my prolific sweat glands. I’d be amazed if I ever met anyone who sweats more than I.

I get it! “Throw me a bone”, the bone breaks, then you get marrow. jk, great show as usual, Gary.

Decent show. I am not a fan of the “one winery” preview, but I understand why you do this.

QOTD - My most unique characteristic is the fact that I have virtually bright orange hair. I met you at the Boston Wine Expo and if you remembered me, then you would simply by the striking hair color.

    San Saba Vineyards

Thanks for the mention Gary, but San Saba is located in the Salinas Valley near Soledad–the vineyard is pushed up against the Santa Lucia Highlands. Please come visit us.
    Cheers.

I was just at this Winery on Saturday, and had not seen this show.
The Hills right in front of the Vineyard were on fire. Really! We had a freak lighting storm roll through and the hills were on fire all over the place. The fire trucks and bulldozers rolled up the hill as we sipped the wine. I felt like getting out the fiddle.

Fun fact: I proposed marriage to Sharon at this very winery about 18 months before. And we were married in July 2007, so I am fond of the winery.

Thank Gary for allowing these folks on the show.

OH! I love the wineries in the Santa Cruz Mountians. There are many fine wineries in the area.

Sorry, to clarify my last statement- I misphrased that; I don’t believe you have a “bias,” which would mean you unfairly approach Cali wines when you taste them; rather that it seems you’re not so often taken by them as you may be with wines of other countries (like Portuguese wines as of late, etc.) Although I remember you raving about that Black Owl (whatever the name of that wine with the owl on it was) red wine a couple weeks back- really made me wanna try it!

    Interesting show again, Gary.
I have to admit, I have been following WLTV for maybe a little over a month now, and after watching maybe 40 or 50 episodes, have sensed that you have a bit of a bias against Cali wines! I respect your palate and your individual tastes though, since “being true to one’s pal” is the most important thing you’ve taught us!

QOTD: If you were to ask my girlfriend she would probably say that I think a loooooot/way-too-much about everything. In my defense, I always say it’s better to think too much than too little (right? hehe).

Don’t spill the wine on the camera!!!!!!!!!
QOTD- Even keeled and great under pressure and I only worry about what I think can be changed. If not it is not worth the mental strain and anguish being upset about it because it is not going to change.
Unlike the wine world, which you are changing.

Thanks for the kind words Gary. Even though we didn’t get 90’s, we appreciate your feedback and thank you for taking the time to devote a whole episode to Clos LaChance. What an honor!

We hope you will continue to taste future vintages of these wines (espeically the Meritage. 2004 was the first off a vineyard we planted in 1999. We are excited about the quality now….and are REALLY excited about the upcoming vintages. And to put us in the same category as Insignia and Cakebread. That is a huge compliment for us.

Have a great upcoming trip to the West Coast, congrats on your 500th episode.

The latest from Clos LaChance–we are battling a big wildfire last night and today. Winery is evacuated and closed until further notice. My blog has pics.

Nice show. Perhaps its my chameleon-like ability to pick up on accents. I speak like whomever i’m speaking to - in several languages. My Spanish in La Paz is different than in Lima (although crappy in either locale) as is my English in NYC or Mississippi. It can prove handy sometimes, but troublesome others.

good show today. maybe it was not as ’spectacular” as the other days “mailing list” show, but none the less. it is a show of a small house producing wines that are of the track a bit. maybe i am just out of touch and everyone knows these wines. it is not where i play.
QOTD: whit, humor, insight loyalty. sorry for a few, but what can i do. it is a wine blog, not my final exam.
