QOTD: Biggest Surprise??? The Giants winning the Super Bowl? The Celtics winning the finals? Tiger winning the Open on one leg? I don’t know. I am constantly amazed at what the world brings me. I will definitely spread the good word of Chapel Creek. I’ll have to get my friend in Arkansas to hop over there and find me a bottle. Great Friday show, Vane-Ner-Chuck!
Gary, how about The Rockers? Best Ever Tag Team I think I still go with The Hart Foundation. That’s just me.

I think I’m a tough guy to surprise, so I’ll have to get back to you on that later this year.

Why’d Gary put “their local wine” in quotes about two minutes in? Seems like a visit to the gallery of “misused” quotation marks is in order.

QOTD: A lot of others have said similar things, but I had a son born this year. I am shocked that I can love anything this much, and the power his smile and laugh have is amazing an incredible suprise every day.

Great show GV, keep it up.

Great show! I can’t find the Chapel Creek online.

You forgot the Rock & Roll Express!!!

QOTD: That would have to be the first time my newborn daughter laughed out loud for me and me alone.

Great way to end the week. I was so stoked after watching Croatia vs Turkey match in Euro 2008 and then WLTV was like the cherry on the sundae.
QOTD: Biggest surprise? After seeing friends and family go through divorces and breakups, finding out that I’m still mad about the boy I married 29 years ago.

Are you sure the grapes from the Chapel Creek project are from Oklahoma?
QOTD: Worried–not surprised of the rapidly rising cost of everything and severe weather all over the country.

I’m very sad that someone registered sniffysniff.com

I’d love to try the Chapel Creek! Love the concept of a community wine. Reminds me a bit of the Open Source Beer movement. Plus, I’m a fan of cabs, and i’ve not had many cab blends. Anyone know if it’s available in VA?

QOTD: Hmm…I can’t really think of any!

Man, that’s incredible! You should definitely try to get some info on that wine and perhaps even do a show about it.

Keep the faith. Oklahoma has a ballot initiative that will allow Chapel Creek and other wines to get across those pesky state lines.

The Chapel Creek Cabernet Franc is a steal at $40 a bottle, but no one can get their hands on it. What a shame.

QOTD: Biggest surprise? My ability to think new world fruit bombs were the shizz, and then two weeks later be completely off of them, and onto Spanish deliciousness!

Well, that and getting my hopes up to see you in Rockville, only to have my buddy/ride go out of town that day. Followed closely by my totally coincidental trip to San Fran/Napa, that coincides with the big ‘500th’, only to realize I’ll be driving to Napa, from San Fran, that night!

    I can’t catch a break, Gary.

Really, really enjoyed this ep. I was going to try to buy the Sand Hill Cab. just for the label, but, alas, apparently not so hot. Three cheers for the Chapel Creek Cab. Meritage. Great job. Although I was only watching, I too got caught up in the madness of what they produced. Nice, nice effort. As for the others……keep swinging. Toby Keith would be proud.

QOTD: when my ex-wife informed me (just a few weeks ago) that she is getting re-married in September! Woohoo!! Soon, no more alimony!! At last, I will be able to splurge on wine, and get me some good Brunellos!

Tag team? And you didn’t mention the Legion of Doom? Hawk and Animal FTW!!

    The Ben

My best surprise was how much better my father was doing after my grandfather passed away. We’re still having our huge July 4th bash in granps’s honor. As for a tag team, I’ve got to go with a little know recent group: the Brisco Brothers from Ring of Honor, a little know indie federation. Check out ringofhonor.com from more on them if you like freaky athletic pro-wrestling.

GROAN! Did you just tell us that a wine from OK(lahoma) was “ok”?!?!?!?! Gotta love the unconscious puns, Gary!

QOTD that I am moving to North Carolina in less than two weeks.

QOTD: Tuning in to wine library and seeing OK wines on it and then GV loves one….made my day….I have lived in OK for 15 years and am use to people not knowing what this state is about and GV just steps up and shows some love…next thing I know he will become a Cowboys fan….

Gary-I stopped right at the first comments! I lived in OK for 10 years and during a wine tasting we threw in a OK wine and I thought the nose was a dead ringer for crude oil-now you mention gasoline! From a state that has crude production and refineries I find that hilarious!

No love for Road Warriors / L.O.D. Gary? I have to say, when I was a kid, it was all about Hawk and Animal with the face paint and the big spiked shoulderpads. Gimmick, maybe. But a great one.

QotD: Of the year? How about two raises at work in the just the last 7 days?

  25. June 20, 2008

    Max

Wow good for the College Kids. On a similar note I wonder if you have thought of doing a show on wines from Temecula, CA. Its in the south of the state between LA and San Diego. I find most of it to be mediocre (I’m a native of the town) but it would be neat to get your take.
