I’m a Pennsylvanian so I can’t recommend something from the “other 43″ (I’m really curious about Alaskan wine) but I would recommend another PA winery: J. Maki (French Creek Ridge). Wicked good sparkling wines and what I’ve had of their still wines I prefer to Chaddsford.

    Fangorn81 FIGURES: Cylon Centurion

I thought that looked like a Cylon, but I don’t remember Centurions wearing pants.

“I’d rather light a 20-dollar bill on fire”- that is one of the funniest things I’ve heard about wine in a while.

QOTD- I am from Oregon, but I have some bottles of Sparkling Wine from New Mexico in my refrigerator :)

    Gary,

There are some decent wines coming out of Missouri too. Check out the history: http://showmewines.com/history.php

    FIGURES:
Cylon Centurion, I have no idea, Ovion.

But two out of three isn’t bad for a guy born after the series aired!!!

The first one looks like Rocket Man, and the Last one looks like Swampthing.

Interesting show – but I prefer reviews on wines I can buy. Love to see Mott on the show. Link us up with a shirt!

I went to a wedding that was in a round barn at a winery in Michigan. I think…and this is a real stretch, it was called “The Round Barn Winery”. The place was really pretty, and the wedding fantastic but the wines…well, they weren’t terrible. But I hear some Michigan wines are really good. You should do an Idaho show also.

I liked this episode. For VA wines, I’ve had some nice ones, the best being one called “Octagon” from Barboursville Vineyards.

FYI…Curtis Martin was once linked with R&B singer Toni Braxton.

Here is the website for that Linden PV
It’s not that far from my house, and I’m in Linden a good bit, but have never had the PV. Next time I’m grabbing a bottle.

I guess I don’t need to send you a bottle. Chaddsford is my local winery. I’ve been meaning to take my wife there this summer.

Hey Gary. Good show. Being in the DC/MD/VA area, I’m able to enjoy some good locally grown and produced wines. I’m glad to see you have a Linden wine. I love their wines, and the vineyard is a great place to visit.

Hey Gary, at some point I’d like to hear your views on Michigan wines. Thanks!

QOTD: At 32 you’ve got time to wait for these newbies to get up to speed but some of us, who are slightly more age advanced, know that there plenty of supplying countries and states that are already delivering the goods. So, I’ll encourage my kids and grandkid, when he comes of age, to experiment but not myself :) It’s already like, “So many wines, so little time.”

Holy Moly Titus Vineyards eh? A great friend of mine shared a bottle of your 05 Petit Sirah a little ways back. I still can’t find my socks.

I think I’m going to go hang out with my buddy Chris at the winery in Tularosa, New Mexico, this weekend. I’ll pop you off some bottles (I know I said I would before, but things happened!) Is there anything special that you want Gary? Check the website if you so desire and I’ll send it out to you, if not, I’ll make up my own mind what you want!

Always wonder how members of the Vaynerchuk family cringe in anticipation of Gary’s approval/disapproval of a new dish or gift or recommendation.
Surprised no one has sent anything in from Arizona. Not impressed with the stuff I’ve tried here but there’s always a first time. Fun show.

Wish I could send you a few local wines, but it is legal to do so? Might be a hard sell to the wineries, when some others did show too well

Are your figures from Outer Limits?

GaryV – too bad on the Basignani, you must have a bad bottle. I’ve had a number of their cabs from previous vintages (not 2005), and they have consistently decent. Yes you can find plenty better at 20 bones – but I’ll have one once in a while to support the local guy.

Parker also talked up Basignani years back in his newsletter. Said he wouldn’t give numbers, because Bert was a friend (Parker lives nearby) – but Parker did plug the wines as respectable, almost certainly the best reds in MD.

I don’t get by your store very often – maybe twice a year – but I’ll try to bring a better example with me next time.
