Not much of a fan of drinking anything but water with food…never have. I’ll drink a soda or glass of wine by itself but somehow pairing a drink I like with food I like cancels each other out.

Please Please Please don’t use the mic for ep 499. It doesn’t sound nearly as good on video.

    Hey Gary
    Good show, good wines.

QOTD: If I had to say a “wine matching” I’d say New World Pinot Noir and the bath, I love drinking that stuff while lying in a tub of steaming hot water. Favourite “food and wine match” would perhaps fresh caught ocean fish and Australian Riesling or fresh caught trout and Champagne/Sparkling wine.

    Cheers

QOTD: I have not tried as much as I would like, but I love the Costco chocolate cake with the chocolate shavings all over it with a good Cab.

GV – Super Excited for Thursday’s show, congrats on hitting 500. I hope there are 500 more.

Love the Sancerre show as well. One of my favorite wines. QOTD – favorite food pairing: so many to choose from; aglianico and salad with oranges.

I love you guys, and only offer constructive criticism but, if you changed the sound system, the other one was better. This one sounds like a muffled 80’s TV show. The other picked up more ambient noise and was more fun, I loved the radio in the background sometimes Keep up the great shows!

QOTD: There are a lot of common ones, like Cab and steak, but I once had a pairing of Riesling and smoked salmon that completely wowed me.

QOTD: I tried something I would have never thought much of, but it worked: buttermilk fried chicken and a nice, peppery gruner veltliner. Ausgezeichnet!

Well I discovered that being allergic to mold, I should stay away from the reds. This broke my heart, as I have really developed a liking to some of them. Guess I will have to try more whites, which I usually do not enjoy as much. So today’s episode was great. Time for an old dog to learn some new tricks.

BTW the mustache is still off (From the Houston shaving)

QOTD: Not really sure I have a favorite pairing. I like most wines with just about any food. I would say though that cheese goes with wine better than any other food.

QOTD: Nothing beats a juicy steak paired with a nice “gamey”,”tobaccoy”,”thunder-bringing” carmenere!

I don’t have one favorite. Sorry.

Looking forward to the Big 500th!

Oysters. Nope, not my cup of tea.

QOTD: a local restaurant makes a down to earth italian dish with noodles, peppers, sausage, etc and I love it with a cabernet. That was my wine epiphany several years ago and it is still my favorite combination.
