I was lucky enough to attend. What an event! I think it is safe to say a good time was had by all. What a privilege to see Gary in action. I am still amazed at how he dealt with the horde of people wanting to meet him. You are amazing Gary!

Congrats on 500! Love the show and have learned so much since I started watching.

We just watched your 500th show and we love that you didn’t kiss ass in San Francisco. You were truly honest in saying some of the wines in California are too oaky. Thanks for standing your ground!

Great party. What an opportunity to taste so many different wines.
Thanks to all the Vayniacs for contributing bottles, and a special
thanks to Crushpad for hosting the event.

The Rioja tasting was eye-opening, and confirmed that my palate is very
different from Gary’s. This wine tasted more like mud and wet leaves to
me than anything else. The fruit was completely subdued, which to me is
a fatal flaw. “Food-friendly” should not mean that the wine is
undrinkable without food.

Thanks to Gary for bringing the thunder for 500 episodes, and for
encouraging everyone to trust their own palate. Here’s to the next 500!
