Love the cross promo shows like this. I’ve been a big fan of Woot.com for a long time and love their screamin’ monkey. Too bad their servers suck on Bag ‘o Crap days..

QOtD: Lemon Sorbet or Sherbert works for me. I like that between food courses also.

I’m a little upset I’m just now learning about this wine.woot.com. Paychecks could be heading that way soon.

QOTD: If I do, which is rare, I go with just straight water.

    Gary!

Forgot to mention that the sound quality definitely improved without the clip-on mic!

(Dominus – I’ve seen Haywood around and will give it a try – Thanks!)

I’m a huge Woot fan and wine.woot fan and have even been a Labrat on there before. After Gary’s description of the Haynes wine, I may have to seriously consider the wine.woot this week since I love fruit bombs.

QOTD: Usually a piece of bread when they are available at tastings.

Been following Woot for quite a while. Though I have to admit, I’ve never seen one of their selections that I’d want to buy. In any case. I will continue to follow them

    QOTD: White wine. =)

    P.S. I LOVE wine.woot.

    Great show Gary!

Thanks to woot, I was introduced to wine library tv and I have been a Vayniac ever since. Great to have Dave on the show.

QOTD: I would guess Sorbet. I am sure there are other things I don’t know that may help.

QOTD: Similar to Peter G, I like plain Perrier. I think the clean taste and the bubbles do a good job.

Surfed over from wine.woot today to catch WineDavid & that other guy ;^)
talking about this week’s woot. Great discussion & fun. Like that previous poster said, this makes me want to be in on the tasting too.

QOTD – sparkling water, or a calibrating slurp of the new wine.

It was great to see woot on todays show. Actually Woot brought me to wine and then GV just took it to another level. I havent bought much from woot lately, but i spread the word..hopefully someone ive told bought something. Come Winter or when i see more money, I’ll be buying more.

    QTOD: Crackers

This was a neat show. Previously, I was unaware of wootwine.come, but will be sure to check it out in the future (as well as woot.com.

QOTD: Unexciting bread and water (no chlorine)

QOTD- swishing around a bit of water always does me.
But never use crackers because they’re still coming out of your teeth while the next wine’s in your mouth!

Hido — I’ve been a big Turley fan too but you must try a Haywood. Gary reviewed an ‘05 Los Chamizal a few episodes back. Amazing juice.

Back to your roots. Good show, good guest with amazing hair who seems to be a nice, genuine guy. It’s unfortunate that he brought those wines to someone who does not sell his soul to his guests or the masses and shoots from the hip with his honest opinion. That, my friend. is your greatest strength.

As for Zinfandels, I don’t care for many of them due to their “hotness” and high alcohol content. A good Zin is far and few between unless it has “Haywood” on the label.

QOTD: If anything, I will use cheese as a palate cleanser if available and surely not those disgusting oyster crackers some wineries display on their counter.

  15. July 15, 2008

    Rush Dizzle

One of the first zins i had was the 2000 hayne vineyard with my father. Nice flying monkey, freaking cool. QOTD… the only way to clear the palate is eating an ‘Austin’ brand peanut butter cracker. Period.

qotd: A nice kiss from my date!

  17. July 15, 2008

    Good show as always…

QOTD: Usually nothing, but if the wine is really bad I’ll swish around some water before moving on.

    tommy_gunn

Good show, nice job David. Looking forward to the Chase Zin coming in the mail

QOTD: nothing, or bread. Never supposed to drink water between tasting, fundamental rule!

Gary another awesome episode. I love woot.com shirt.woot and wine.woot. I think i have 3 shirts, i have many woot wines, and may woots as well LOL. I just bought the woot yesterday too hahaha.

    QOTD:
-A piece of good cheese or a cracker

  20. July 15, 2008

    SpoiledinCalbyPinot

QOTD: Cheese on a bagette to cleanse pallet.

Gary, EXTREMELY LARGE DIFFERENCE ON GLASSES—- You can not swirl
and aerate the wine as well. Try Swirling a stick vs. a tire of
    a wheel!!!! Woot was good.

    woot woot!

    QOTD — sparkling water.

Thanks for another great show, Gary!

    Achilles Mike

I enjoy zins, but agree those big alcohol monsters don’t age well. But zins have lots to offer in the way of fruit and their big jammy nature.

  24. July 15, 2008

    Dr T from N. Carolina

QOTD — I prefer just plain water!

  25. July 15, 2008

    Craig Owen

qotd… I like to cleanse my palate with a thin slice of French bread, either plain or dipped in a bit of olive oil if it’s available.
