    Another quality show.

    QOTD: Water and bread.

    Great show.
QOTD: Just water and plain crackers.

QOTD. I prefer something like French bread. Something with a soft dough so it scrapes the flavors but not sweet. But I’m OK with not having anything. I wouldn’t go without water though.

Gary, can you afford a second spit bucket? It’s getting annoying watching the guests squirm

    D-Cos And It Don't Stop

Woot Wines has offered up great deals for a long time. Unfortunately, about 99.9% of the time I can’t get my hands on them, because of f’ing MA laws regarding the shipment of wines.

PLEASE BRING UP FREETHEGRAPES.ORG on your show sometime. It’s bad enough that I’m a Yankees fan living in Boston. I need my wine!!

    QOTD: Bread or Water

I’ve been busy tasting Portuguese wines lately but just yesterday decided to go for a Zinfandel again. Robert Mondavi Private Selection. It was pretty good, great balance and not too fruit bomby. Being in Europe I tend to go more for Primitivo when I’m in the mood but I gotta say – the USA has got a pretty good handle on Zin.

QOTD – I’m a traditionalist on this one. Fresh french Baguette (from France) and aged Swiss and Austrian cheese.

Bloomed Old Chocolate!!! I know my Grandma has some in her freezer. Thanks for introducing me to Woot! QOTD – dry, crusty french bread rounds

GV & DS – Great pair – fun show. QOTD – Bread, crackers, or nothing!

Great to see the Thunder Show again, and with such an awesome guest. I can’t afford wine any more, but it’s still fun to watch Gary drink it.

    QOTD: Water

Great Show! Quality show and guest!

QOTD – bread and water – but if it’s to clean your palette between courses of a meal, a champagne or lemon sorbet :-)

  11. July 16, 2008

    John

QOTD: I usually don’t cleanse my pallet, but when I do, I usually use Perrier or some other mineral water.

  12. July 16, 2008

    Pete W.

QOTD: I like to use some sort of bread myself.

Great show, it’s nice to WD in action!

QOTD: Dry plain crackers and water.

QOTD: Water ususally works best. However, I have been known to have used crackers or perhaps a baguette if available as well. In short, no real standard but many options depending on what is available. But you can’t go wrong with water.

Love this show, I like it when Gary gets a little uncomfortable when scoring.

QOTD: I like to have crackers and water as well, just like a lot of the other vayniacs; but i can also hang with not cleansing if need be.

Agree with Spoiled..Pinot re the stemless glasses – the geometry/spatials are upset, not just for the swirl, but for the whirl too. OK for swilling soda or booze, but for me, the stem enables the fine motor control of the wine tasting experience.

Yeah, I know, the wine tastes the same. And I do prefer shorter stems to discourage accidents…

QOTD: A crusty Baguette or sorbet.

QOTD: None. I usually use the wine itself to cleanse my pallet. So first taste dosent count. By the second or third taste I’m good to go.

Hey, I hate the flyin monkey. Someone in the office had one and over did it. Day in day out, screamin-flyin monkey. Someone finally stomped it monkey brains out.

  20. July 16, 2008

    Joe

QOTD: I don’t have a standard. Sometimes I use water. My biggest problem is not spitting the wine; if I taste too many wines in a row I start getting Buzzed. (EX: episode 500)

QotD: Water works best for me.

QOTD= They dont hand out baguettes at the beginning of the ZAP tasting because they need to CARBO-LOAD. Its because nothing else works as well.

Another good episode. We’ve gone through several of those monkeys in our office. You’d be surprised how long those rubber band arms can last.

QOTD: for some reason, i’ve always like oyster crackers. but they’re never around so usually i don’t do anything.

None, I like the comparison shock at first and then adjust to a new wine.

When in Bordeaux I studied next door the mondial du vin where they grade the wine’s. A little Dark chocolate and water apparently helps neutralise the tastebud – thats what they recommended it.

    Who knows? I prefer nothing.
