Gigondas always rocks my face. I’ve been a fan for years. Glad to see you dig the profile of these highly individual wines. You rock, Mr. Vaynerchuk!!!

I’m having my first gigondas as I rewatch this show. It’s a 2005 Domain De Carobello Gigondas. I can’t identify flavors as well as you. I’m not real high on it. Although I love the raw veggies at the salad bar I think I may not be the biggest fan of the veggie wines. But I think I’m liking it more than past wines that had similar flavors so my palate may be evolving. I’ll see what overnight breathing does for the gigondas.

Oh, Gary, I hate to tell you this, but that is a $220 crystal glass!
BV stands for “Bottega del Vino”. I found a site selling it for a small fortune:

Hope someone sends you more glasses!

I leave town for a week and miss the chance to vote on the Bottle Shock contest.

Number 3 had an impressive big ass glass but Number 1 is definitely my favorite.

QOTD: I was going to come up with my own but I like Colin’s

QOTD: Drinking game… Hm… “Gary Pounds it”. Drink a shot, (but then spit it back out into a bucket) for every time Gary pounds the table. ;-)

Nice show on the big “G”. I’ve always enjoyed Gigondas as a less expensive alternative to CDP (although, as you say, not so much any more).

QOTD: I’m told old for drinking games. ;-)

QOTD. Has anybody suggested blind tasting and trying to identify the wine? Isn’t that the grandaddy of drinking games? How about tasting a wine and trying to describe it and score it as Gary would. For example, would Gary describe the nose as oregano or celery stick, twizzler or cool aid, etc.? (Has anybody compiled a list of Gary’s unusual descriptors?)

Good episode, although the server was not too kind to me.
I was introduced to Gigondas in 1997 by a French colleague.
I have been a fan since!

QOTD - not big on drinking games, it takes the pleasure out of drinking for quality.

QOTD: This is so easy to do…anytime you say Jets you drink….when you mention Kellen Clemmens you drink what’s left in your glass…..when you say anything to do with the playoffs or super bowl…finish the bottle…..

I really enjoy Gigondas wines. I spent a few days there in 2006 and got a great appreciation for the wines. It is also a nice place to visit. Lots of good tasting opportunities.

QOTD - I like anything that teaches me about wines, whether it is questions about wines, regions, wineries, or if it relates to trying to describe wines (grape, region, vintage, etc.). Anything would be fun.

Can’t help with the QOTD. I’m all about responsible drinking. Like drinking when I’m lonely, drinking when I’m depressed, drinking when I’m bored, etc. I would never, EVER, turn it into a game. :-)

    Contest: Gotta go with #3

Finally catching up. Nice show. I actually stumbled across the live feed and though it was a “backstage” look at the taping of the show. You should add a “Mott Cam” so we can see all of Mott’s facial expressions!!

    QOTD:
My goal here is to list rules not only for us to abide by, but a fun game that Gary can play with us.

    1) I just saw episode 497 and you mentioned that you wanted to have lighting that flashes during Sniffy Sniff. Instead of having the lights go off every time a Sniffy Sniff happens, you could have like a “Thunder

    2) Round” where everyone has to chug their glasses.

    3) Anytime Mott links something up.

    4) I think anytime you look away from the camera to head nod at someone or any distraction like that you should take a drink.

    5) Since you are uStreaming it up now we could have more interactive drinking, like 300+ we all drink.

    6) Anytime you let “Pour some out for the Vayniacs”, we take a drink.

    7) Anytime you pass the glass to Mott, we drink.

    8) Anytime you nearly drop the glass or break one, you get one for a “party foul.”

    9) Any time you brown bag it, we take a swig from the bottle.

    10) Anytime a wine “Brings the Thunder” we all drink.

    11) Anytime the Oak Monster Shows up we take a drink.

    12) We raise our glasses in tribute for the shout-outs and afterwards all drink.

That’s most of all that I can think of. I know it is too late now, but I thought that #1 (DaKoolaidShow) the best.
