Great show, I’ve been lurking for a couple of weeks since my brother sent me some of your episodes, but I guess now I’m out in the open.

QOTD: My favorite thing about Ohio would have to be my friends Dave and Mindy in Cleveland.

My favorite thing about Ohio besides being born and raised there (stow, ohio…near akron).
    Two words for ya:
    CEDAR
    POINT
Holds the WORLD RECORD for the most roller coasters in a single park.

QOTD: Being from Ohio & still living here, I love it! I too agree with the Young’s Jersey Dairy comments….no better ice cream! Also, it has to be The Ohio State Buckeyes (football)…pre season starts in exacty one month! Hopefully our pro teams will show some improvement this year.
I have not had very many Ohio wines (one, to be exact) so I’m excited to go out & find some. Gary, thanks for doing the Ohio show & I can’t wait for the “red episode”. Keep up the great work!

    to clarify….
I don’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings. I’m from europe and I’m just interested in wine. The show is just getting more and more like an typical american TV show.

    Calm down

I don’t think I can watch your show if it goes on like this.
I can feel no real love or interest in wine… I’m sorry.

QOTD: Clearly Cedar Point… nothing to do with wine, everything to do with rollercoasters..! GV – Do you ever organize what you are tasting by sugar content? It seems that you go back and forth between dryer and sweeter wines rather than driest to sweetest like I’ve been taught in the past, and I wonder if that affects your ratings…

First time commenting, been watching for a month or so now, great stuff Gary.

My favorite thing about Ohio is that most of my family lives there.

I give today’s Oak Monster a 7. You’ve done better, but you meant in and were bringing your own OM thunder.

QOTD: When Brak sings, “Round on the end and HIIIIII in the middle.”

QOTD: Low cost of living + OSU Football = Great place to live. I have to agree with Young’s Dairy though. Top Notch.

I’m glad to see you doing shows on “the other 46″.

I’ve been seeking out wines from the other states because I’ve gotten tired of offerings from California (although admittedly Oregon and Washington still rank highly with me.)

But, for example, did you know that before prohibition Missouri was the nation’s largest wine producing state? There are actually several wineries that have some good stuff there. Mount Pleasant, and Montelle to name a few. You should check them out sometime…

For that matter, it would only take less than 2 months worth of showes to do a 50 state tour…

    Ohio? Can’t wait…..Oklahoma was a stttrrreeeettttcccchhhhh, though!

wow. the throw to my little pony was amazing… totally unexpected and hilarious. We need to get a teddy ruxbin on the show. Perhaps replace the tape he comes with with some kind of oak monster “eeghghghghghghghghghgh” sound.

QOTD: favorite thing about Ohio – the overwhelmingly catchy cheer, “What’s round on the ends and high in the middle? Ohio!” That, and the tradition of burying ohio natives with a buckeye in their pocket. We buried my grandfather that way (who was a monumental player in brining world class wine and beer to Ohio from the 1950s through the 1980s.) Jack Huebner, hell of a guy. Cheers Buckeyes.

QOTD: I’d have to say that my favorite thing about Ohio…is…that there is more for me to learn about a state that I know very little of in the wine world.

good episode. I can’t get much (probably any) wine from the “other 46″ in stores in my area, so it’s always interesting to see what you think of them. I hope you do calm down with the computer feed.

as im not from the us- i can only regurgitate what i just learnt on wikipedia, that the state rock song is “Hang on sloopy” which is a neat little song, apologies on the particularly weak first comment, hopefully thunder to come- and hopefully i will learn more about ohio

    Oregon Jim

QOTD Ocho Sinco, Houshmanzadah, Derek Anderson are the reasons Ohio should love Oregon State University! Also Ohio is the home of Cincinnati Milacron, the last US manufacturer of Plastic Injection Molding machines. Which I sell and which make the Supreme Corq plastic wine cork, as well as Nike shoe parts,
Boeing airplane parts, Truck parts, etc. So I love Ohio the home of the other OSU.

Ohio wine I am not so sure of.

    Great Show. First time posting.

I’m sure you’re tired of people complaining about you looking at your computer during the episodes. If you tape several back to back, it might be worthwhile to move your computer so that it sits closer to the WLTV camera so that when you look at the computer it’s not so jarring.

Great episode, Gary! I can’t wait where we have another Paris 1976 tasting… but for the interior states vs. CA!

    QOTD: Sorry, I gots nuthin.
