My favorite thing about Ohio has to be King’s Island, the amusement park outside of Cincinnati. Going there as a kid provided me with some of my funnest memories.

I went on a two week trip to Ohio, Amish country,Dover,Millersburg, New PHilly, and I will tell you one thing. Ohio does not specialize in what I call “Western” grapes as in Chardonnay, Pinots and Zinfandels. The Catawba grape, which is Ohio’s native variety, as well as Niagra and Chambourcin are the ones that show the state’s true colors in wine. Ohio was also the fisrt state to commercially produce wine back in the 1860′s. It also lead the nation in wine production, beating out California two to one! Check out the Ohiowines.com website. I was surprised. And I love the Catawba grape! Nice, sweet and grapy!

QOTD: Hate the sports teams so thats out. Never tasted any of the wines so theres a no go. Hmmm…. My friend Steph! Well she lives in the Seattle area now but she’s from there! She rocks it. Decent showing on the wines which was nice. Too bad the one wine was nothing but 2×4′s.
