Billecart Salmon Rose can even be non-vintage for me though the 1991 was great as is the ‘95. Not a fan of Moscato d’ Asti as they are always just too sweet and low alcohol for me though I do enjoy a few of the Muscat dessert wines occasionally especially if the bring the orange thunder for me.

QOTD: Minute Maid used to make this lemonaide soda that was so good. I think I’d have to use that as my answer, since I loved it so much and now it’s not around. I guess wines are like that, too, but this Minute Maid just made a mark on my brain that will never go away.

Just don’t zoom in on my head like last time…That was hilarious…

Great show – had the Ceretto before and you hit it right on the head with your scoring, and I’m looking for the Braida to try that. QOTD – The best fizzy drink I’ve ever had was ‘66 Dom Perignon, but my favourite fizz (that I can drink semi regularly) is Pol Roger NV with a few years bottle age on it. It becomes a stunning wine if you cellar it… or Irn Bru (Scotland’s best selling fizzy soft drink, even outsells Coke!) – http://www.irn-bru.co.uk

Absolutely has to be Henry Weinhard’s Root Beer and (sorry but I just can’t choose) Half and Half Orange Cream Soda…SO GOOD!!!

Very interesting show Gary! Had the Braida Moscato D’asti a few weeks ago and liked it alot!

    @QOTD:

The best sparkling wine I’ve had was the 1992 Taitinger our of the Art Edition bottle.

My favorite bubbly is Richard Childress North Carolina Champaigne (made from chardonnay grapes) – I’m not kidding, this wine is terrific!

I’m going to be looking for a lot of Favre to Clowney (in stride) down the sidelines (pure thunder) for tons of TDs!

QOTD: Fav bubbly drink had to be Orange Ne-Hi. What a beverage!!!

  14. August 20, 2008

    The Lurk Monster

A&W Cream Soda That has been left in the back of the fridge for 2 months that has lost almost all of its carbonation. This makes it condense down to taste like butterscotch syrup with a bite.

QOTD: hmmm so many to choose from… I think I’m going to have to go with BJ’s Brewery root beer. They make their own and it’s so good.

  16. August 20, 2008

    Matt T

    85 Veuve Clicquot Rose.

    Great Show Gary, as usual.

QOTD: I haven’t had too many sparkling wines but I have been on a mission to find some that I really like.

However – at this point my favorite sparkling drink is Coke Zero. I just like it.

QOTD: actually, I’ve had a yummy Prosecco, several really nice Cavas, but the best is still Lindemans Raspberry Lambic. It just tastes like I imagined champagne tasted like when I was a little kid.

  19. August 20, 2008

    Jonathan Pember

My favorite bubbly drink would have to be Iron Horse Root Beer with Bawls energy drink in a close second.

Also, when is Gary going to have a Root Beer show?

  20. August 20, 2008

    Emily & James H.

I am kind of curious as to why you slurp even carbonated beverages? First and foremost, I would think it would get all foamy in your mouth and therefore, diminish contact with your tongue. Secondly, doesn’t the CO2 in the drink do something of the same thing as pulling air over and through wine when you slurp it?

QOTD: James-Dogfish 120 min IPA…that stuff is the shiznittle bip bap zap. Emily-Bollinger or Lucien Albrecht Cremant de Alsace Rose.

Thanks for your show, we really enjoy watching.

QOTD: It’s a straight-up tie between Belgian Framboise Lambic (the ONLY beer I like and I live in WISCONSIN, isn’t that sad?) and Izze Sparkling Clementine soda. Yummy.

  22. August 20, 2008

    John S.

QOTD: i will have to go with Ale81 (”A Late One”) don’t know if its easily found outside of Kentucky(where I live) or not but if you can find one try it out write me and tell me how it was.

  23. August 20, 2008

QOTD – Actually, I would have to say the 2006 La Spinetta Moscatto D’Asti I had earlier this year

  24. August 19, 2008

    Robin C

QOTD: I don’t drink that many sparkling wines because I tend to get sick with them if they’re too sweet, or if I mix them with another wine, but I recently had a bottle of Duval-Leroy Brut that was just outstanding. My husband and I drank the entire bottle with an omlet, and I had no headache or other repercussions.

The play-by-play is not for the entry level football fan. I’m glad you’re happy with the Jets though.

    QOTD: Banfi Rosa Regale
