Q-Last night we had the 2007 Stony Bay New Z. Sauv Blanc. Nice for $12. The night before, 2003 La Nunsio Barbera D’Asti, a great value in my opinion.

    Gary-
What, no props for sending you that fine piece os stemware emblazoned with your beloved Jets logo? Where’s the love? Enjoyed the show, although I think Favre will perform better than those 3 wines this year. QOTD: I thought the Este did not live up to the hype.

QOTD: Not very much! I have been working too much and too late to drink. The last bottle I did have was a Greece – St George that was very interesting. It was cross between a pinot noir and barbera in its profile. It was my first, so I am going to try some more in the months to come.

Drinking not spitting Jacob;s Creek sparkling rose and Snoqiual,,,”sorry” riesling. The sparklers easier drinking and nice, the riesling is sweet but quality. Considering costs very good. Gary are you still drinking the hard to fine wine that you are happy to ship?

QOTD 2: Loire Valley whites- the “lesser known” bunch; Cheverny, Ruilly, Sauveniers, Muscadet, Saumur, Loire sparklers, etc.

Right now, I’m drinking a Fall Line cabernet (WA)…trying to figure out if a purchase of more bottles is warranted.

    The verdict is: YES!

I was instructed to post: I have a black wristband.
I promise to wear it next time I see you, GV!

Loved the PS episode. I really can’t get into petite sirah as a rule (TOO MUCH) but I can appreciate it’s exuberance.

Reminds me a bit of you, actually….:)

QOTD: After a stint of drinking every “summer brew” beer I could get my hands on (Harpoon’s summer varietal was my fav) I am now drinking the wines from the customer appreciation sale… Cambiata for the win!!! Oh, and the Prado Ayala really does smell like poop(!) but tastes nice.

QOTD: Spanish whites including Xa-relo (thanks to you Gaz) and Argentinian Malbecs from Catena, Alamos…

I love my Petite Sirah. Any wine that turns your teeth blue is OK with me. I’ve had every vintage of Foppiano going back to 1996. The 2004 is a little tough now but I think better years are ahead.

Qotd: I have had a lot of interesting wines lately. I was in Croatia and Hungary for vacation. Many of the wines I had in Croatia smelled and tasted a bit like brined green olives. I had some real nice red’s from the Kékfrankos grape in Hungary. Then to top it off I had a ‘78 cab from Napa when I got back. It was supposed to be an $8-10 bottle on release. It was supper funky smelling and tasting when it was opened, but after around 3 hours it was fairly decent. There was still some decent fruit after all of those years.

Great show….as usual (always fun when I get the preview on ustream, though!). I also LOVE the Rosenblum PS and was so happy that you liked it! I was sure you were going to hate the fruit bomb aspect of the wine but you didn’t….I think your palate is up to something! Anyway, when I smelled the wine it was totally blueberry pie….all day long!

QOTD: Tried 2 Cameron Hughes 2005 Meritages last night….different lots….both were quite good!

I’ve been drinking some Lexia from Alice White lately. I know it’s cheap wine, but I like it, and I’m in college.
